I had a water heater (Bradford White) installed by this company in Aug 2012. The water heater had a 6 year warranty on it. Today, the water heater stopped working. A guy from the company came over and said I would have to deal with the manufacturer directly to work on any rebate or any credit due He said their company only warranties items for 5 years. He quoted me $1,400 to replace the water heater. He did not provide a written invoice. I called the company for a written quote and am waiting for that in the mail. The lady that answered the phone said I should have received one. I have been with Priority Services of Las Vegas for over 14 years with A/C and furnace checkups. After today, I cancelled my contract. This is not a reputable business. I had another company replace my water heater for $380.00 and received another 6 year warranty. If the water heater has a warranty for 6 years, why does Priority Services cutoff off 1 year?

Priority Services was not the company that installed his water heater

I have the receipt that they did. The company changed names because the owners could not get along. Maybe that is why they broke up, still the same company. I feel like I have been ripped off for 14 years! I have the receipt if the owner would like to see it. I am still waiting for that written estimate for$1,400. Everyone says that is way to high for a 40 gallon water heater. I would like to see what that estimate included. Maybe the employee did not want to do the work. So far, no written estimate. Why? I called the office and they said they would mail one out as soon as the invoice arrived from the employee looking at the work. It was a Bradford White. I think this company does not want to work with the warranty. I would like a clear explanation.

Again we were not the company that installed your water heater it was priority plumbing and air not Priority services of Las Vegas, our price for the 40 gallon water heater is 1,400$ that includes doing any up grades to bring it up to code,it is also required if a water heater is installed you must pull a permit and have an inspection done by the city...so if there was someone that did all that for 380$ it would be impossible. If you would like to come by our office and obtain an invoice your welcome to,when we were out there there was a 76$ service charge that you did not pay.

The companies may not be the same name, but they are the same owner. The $380.00 was for $50.00 to turn in the old water heater, $50.00 for another 6 year warranty, and the rest was for parts and labor. My water heater even has a recirculating pump on it. Ferguson plumbing is where I bought/exchanged the water heater. They honored the manufacturer warranty where your company did not want to bother with it for unknown reasons. A license contractor installed it. I will show you the receipt. I had the same person install a water heater for a co-worker and charged $950.00 for parts and labor. I appreciate that you did not charge me the 76.00 service fee. I really liked your company before for my plumbing/heating/a/c needs, but I cannot recommend you at this time because I felt like I am/was being ripped off. Even Lowes and Home Depot has better prices than you. For being a customer for over 14 years, servicing two of my homes, your company can do better.

Claimed old unit fire hazard needed immediate replacement. They chose the wrong unit for the house Needed major repairs w/in 4 months. Still inadequate
New HVAC installed July 2016; major repairs December 2016. Service had been called for malfunction fan motor in old unit. Was told old unit was a fire hazard. Priority, the experts, chose a *** unit but it never functioned right. In December 2016 needed compressor and fan replaced. Said ducts were inadequate. Replaced one section of ducts, but unit/fan cannot keep up with needed forced air to cool sections of house--forcing air from large duct into substantially smaller ones. Thermostat insisted upon by Priority has too wide an acceptable range of temps.

Desired Outcome

I believe I was misled about the fire hazard in order to immediately sell a pre-selected unit that was not appropriate for my home.I paid too much for a unit that works inadequately and an unwanted thermostat with too wide a range of acceptable temps. I want an appropriate HVAC installed so that the house in cooled in the summer and heated in the winter.I don't believe there is any way to make the larger ducts joined with smaller ones to function properly so either all must be replaced with larger or a new unit that will use the smaller ducts installed and the larger ducts replaced with the original size. They claim to be a "preferred *** dealer." *** however says: "These contractors are separately owned and independently operated businesses that operate under state and/or local licensing agencies, and as such are solely responsible for their own business practices, pricing, and operations. These contractors take the responsibility for sizing, designing, installing, and servicing systems, using proper workmanship, under the guidelines of state and/or local codes. "

The original unit was VERY OLD and Dangerous, the unit that Priority installed was the correct size (tonage) for the home. Priority gives a 1 year labor warranty and *** gives a 10 year warranty on all parts. When the *** unit failed Priority went out 4x and repaired the unit at no cost to the customer, the unit has worked effeciently for the last 8 months. We are unsure why the customer is complaining now, when Priority has completed all services that is in the contract.

The unit has not worked properly for the past months. I stopped calling Priority when they said they would charge $76 to come to the home. It does not cool most of the area for which it is responsible; has inadequate fan function for the rooms. Heating this year is yet to be determined. The thermostat that Priority insisted HAD to be installed has much to great a temperature range for comfort in any room. Tonage is apparently not the whole consideration re the suitability of a unit. Priority simply chose the wrong unit for the home, had to make repairs within months due to failures (including the compressor, duct replacement etc) caused by the wrong choice and has now decided to deny that improper selection. The old unit was about 13 years old and not "VERY OLD."

Business provides a satisfaction guarantee on its website. I am not and have not been satisfied. They knew it was not the correct unit when it was installed. The compressor burned out in less than four months; the fan ran 24/7 for weeks. I was then told that when this unit was installed where an evap cooler had been that they had had this problem repeatedly. They removed my evap unit. As a solution they attempted to cure their wrong choice by trying to marry their new much larger section of duct with the much smaller original ducts. The result is poor air distribution. I also told them that I did not want a variance of 3 degrees on the thermostat but they insisted that they knew what they were doing and that I was not the expert. I do not recall the inspector going into the attic to see the jerry rigged ducts. My old unit had a leaking fan motor they called a fire hazard. They saw a senior they could scare into a fast expensive purchase and jumped on the opportunity.

The unit that was installed was correct size for her property. There were some warranty issues from the start that was addressed and FREE of charge. And for the past 8 months through our Extreme summer heat the unit maintained the temperature. As for the duct work in every system the duct size starts off large and break off to smaller sizes, the same way as the 2nd unit on her roof does.

Priority looked at me Ac unit and they told me it needed two parts, they said it was still under warranty & it will be two weeks, called said 3 weeks
Priority came out on 7/25/2016 and did a full year inspection. they said that everything was looking good and that the one unit that we just changed was 1 lb low and we paid for another contract for them to come back out and look at everything for the winter and summer again. they never came out in the winter to do the service that we had the contract with them. We were still in contract with them for the summer of 2017 and they came out and looked at my unit that wasn't cooling nothing and the technician Dan was quick with his diagnosis and told me that we needed 2 parts and it was still under the warranty. I told him ok order them and he said that it will be 2 weeks. then about an hour latter he called and said that it will take 3 weeks. Now here we are on the 4th week in *** in July with only one Ac over working to cool a 22 hundred sqf house. I Called the company and asked them when they were going to come out and put in the parts and that since I waited another 2 weeks for them we should talk about the price of the refrigerant that they wanted me to pay $350 for 7 lbs of. The guy on the phone Mike said that they couldn't do anything for us because he just paid an extra $150 for them to get the parts here. I told me that I wanted to talk to a supervisor. A supervisor / boss Tom got on the phone we told him what we were going through and he told me that I was very inconsiderate and Rude to his staff and his company so they aren't going to do no work for us and he was going to send back the parts. We have been with this company 2004 and we have bought 2 new units heating and Ac. The problem with this unit that they order parts for is one that they installed. we had another Company out and he looked at everything and he found a lose coolant hose. So this company just got lazy and is doing really poor installations.

Desired Outcome

since we didn't get the full service for the contract we had with them we would like the refund for the whole year. that we bought on 7/25/2016.. they didn't come out during the winter to look at the heaters and they barley came out this time.

Knights Reign Response

We went out to the customers property and she needed 2 parts that were still under warranty and they were going to take 3 weeks to get here and she needed 7 pounds of R410A Freon which is $350. Once the part came we called the customer and let her know that the factory messed up on the part order and we paid extra so they would ship it faster, in 3-5 days at this point the customer was still fine paying the $350 for the R410A and understood the it is the manufactures warranty not Priority Services that decides what is covered and what isnt. On day 4 we got the part. Mike called the customer to let her know the part was here and he was ready to go install it. She insisted that we cut the price in half for R410A, Mike explained that the parts and labor were the only thing that the manufactures warranty covers not the R410A. She was then rude to Mike on the phone and wanted to speak with a manager. Mike explained he is the manager and she wanted someone higher so she called the office. She spoke with Korie the office manager and Korie explained the same thing to the customer that the parts and labor were the only things covered under her warranty. The customer wouldn't accept anything that Korie was saying and kept cutting her off so Korie put her on hold and got the owner Ted on the phone. Ted explained again that only the parts and labor are covered under her warranty nothing else. She demanded again that we cut the price in half on the R410A. Ted explained that the cost of the R410A is not related to her warranty and is a different issue altogether. After going back and forth Ted told the customer that we were not going to come out there and do the work because she was verbally abusive to 3 of his employees and he has the right to refuse service. We have since terminated the customers Preventative Maintenance contract with Priority Services.
