My tech with over years of experience took this car for a test drive hearing the noise brieflyHe inspected the rear brakes with no visual problems seenI a partner
in the business, also with over years of experence was going to take the car for a second test driveI was able to make the noise every time I would brake a little harder ,allowing the rear of the car to lift and settle into positionWhen the car would settle into position, is when the squeaking noise would happenThis problem sounded like a possible dried out suspension component, which takes the weight of the vehicle to produce the noiseThe noise would never occurred during the braking, only when the rear was settling into the down position
So, in not seeing any brake component problems or able to locate the suspension noise, I could not recommend any repairs either to the brakes or suspension
We did have a conversation that some friction material in certain brakes may be sensitive to moisture and/or temperatures that would allow for a squealing noiseGenerally this noise is not a safety problem, but an annoying one
As far as her paying $that was her decision, and possible an expensive one

I'm sending copies of where I took my checked at Knipp Auto Service in Auxvasse, MO on May 4, MrKnipp didn't charge me for checking my brakes and he said they were ok but he did charge me for the Air Value

Thank you for your concernHowever, when an existing problem comes in the door and we are not able to prove that a repair will remove the noise she was hearing, in good faith, we will not recommend a repair that may not remove the noiseWe saw no cracks in her brakes, so therefore not being able to see the problem we could not guarantee that replacing the brakes would fix the problemIf we would have seen an issue, so to speak, we would have given her the opportunity to have us fix the problem and she would have paid us for fixing the issueSo therefore we will not be paying her bill for the other Automotive shop when there was nothing we could see to fixTo sum up we checked the problem, found no guaranteed problem, charged her for our time to check (not to repair the problem) and will not be paying her bill!
