In September 2019 my husband and I ordered a Full Set of kitchen cabinets from Knox Cabinet Company. Upon signing my contract with them my sales person "***" agreed that I was getting a full set of cabinets, a gourmet pantry with roll out shelves. My cabinets were installed in November and we noticed that we did not have shelves for our pantry. My contractor and my husband contacted our sales person "***" many times to see what the delay was. She kept saying another week, they are coming, they are back order etc. We finally ended up with radio silence from "***". My kitchen was complete, but still no shelves. On December 23rd after not hearing from anyone for weeks, we contacted the store about our concerns and were put in contact with the owners. *** and her husband, claimed that they would go in right after Christmas and get our order corrected. A month later in January we still had not heard from the owners about our shelves. At this time my husband contacts the owners again and they finally agree to discuss the situation with us. We are then told that they ordered shelves and they were coming, but on delay. Once the shelves arrived we picked them up and discovered that they were not at all what we had discussed with "***". When we asked them to correct this problem they claimed that we had never paid for shelves to begin with; this was never mentioned in previous communication."***" had made it clear that they were in our package. Once we discovered we had the wrong shelves we told them what we wanted and they agreed to find them. They then wanted to charge us $338 more dollars, because they ordered the wrong shelves, because again no one would contact us for months. Now here we are we have no shelves, they are refusing to fix this mistake and I am done fighting them. Knox Cabinet Company has been completely unprofessional through out this whole situation. I paid them almost $6,000 for cabinets and this is how I am being treated.

Desired Outcome

Replacement I would like my $338 in role out shelves free of charge. Due to the lack of professionalism from the entire team at Knox Cabinet Company. They never claimed we never paid for shelves until they bought the wrong ones and were out almost $1,000. If someone would have contacted us we would have told them what we ordered and they would have only paid $338.

The *** family purchased cabinets from my company on September 19, 2019. In their contract they were charged for cabinetry and door hardware for those cabinets. They were never charged for nor signed off on drawings that included "specialty shelving" for those cabinets. Please see attached contract and drawings. I never heard from anyone regarding "issues" with this job until 12/23/19 at which point Mr. sent me an email. My business partner and I reached out to Mr. immediately to assure him we would look into the problem. After learning that they were under the impression that "specialty shelving" was included, we ordered the shelving we were told they had discussed with our designer per the Howards at no cost even though nothing was ever referenced in the signed paperwork by Mrs. that shelving was included. Once the shelving they picked out was ordered, Mrs. then decided that it was not what she wanted. I personally told Mrs. that we did not charge them for the shelving they already had and that if they wanted another option ordered we would sell them to them at cost. This was not a problem at the time of the meeting. However, shortly after we heard back from Mrs. stating how she thought we should be responsible for paying for them. Again, nowhere in the initial contract with the Howards were "specialty shelving" or "rollouts" included. We ordered exactly what she paid for. I responded to her email myself stating that again we would sell her the rollouts at our cost and never heard back. Mrs. got exactly what she requested at the time her order was placed.

The above account is extremely inaccurate and only shows the owners lack of knowledge of her business and her sales people. My husband and my contractor, *** (He will write a statement about these calls) contacted our sales person *** for weeks about our shelves during November and December. We would be happy to provide text and call records between my husband/ *** and ***. It was only when we were no longer getting anything from *** that we felt we needed to go above her to the owner ***. Owner ***, even fired *** over this situation, so she obviously knew that this was an extreme problem on her companies end. When the contract was signed and covered by ***, I was specifically told that I would be getting my cabinets, with slide out shelves in my gourmet pantry. It was never said this needs to be listed separately (Even the owner ***, said in my own home, of course you would not expect that to be listed separate) *** nor anyone from her team ever contacted me about which selves I was supposed to have. They did not contact my husband nor I back for over a month. *** nor anyone from her team checked in via email, text, or by phone. When we finally got a hold of them they explained that shelves had been ordered. These shelves were never approved by my husband or myself verbally or in writing. They just assumed (The shelves I wanted were almost $700 less, so a quick phone call would have saved them a lot of time and money, plus this Revdex.com complaint). This business has a lack of professionalism all around, it is obvious with the lack of attention that was paid to my services as well as they lack of responding to this complaint in a timely manner, it took a second attempt to even get a response.

Please see attached item description. This is the "Gourmet Pantry" that was ordered for the Howards. As you will see there are no shelves included. The pantry does however accept one and ONLY ONE kit/shelving option that can be ordered separately. Again, this kit was not included in the contract or design specs with the Howards. However, to try to remedy their misunderstanding, we decided to order the ONE AND ONLY approved kit for the cabinet at no charge to the Howards. Once they received the kit for the gourmet pantry, we quickly learned that Mrs. was still unhappy. We not only covered the cost of the approved kit but also custom cut shelving for the Howards, again at no cost to which she told us to take back. The shelving that Mrs. now demands we order DOES NOT go with this cabinet. We relayed this to her at the time of meeting with her in her home. However, they can be made to work if the cabinet is modified. Again, that is not part of the job that was sold to her. In an effort to help, we told her what they would need to have their contractor do to modify the cabinet to accommodate the custom piece, that we would sell them the other shelving at cost and they would be responsible for the project moving forward. At that time, she understood and agreed to the plan. The next step was one of our designers was to reach out to her with the cost of the rollouts, which he did. Once he relayed to her the cost, we heard back from her again regarding her dissatisfaction and desire for us to purchase the shelving for her. I personally responded telling her that we would not be purchasing anything else for her job as we delivered our services as per the agreed terms. We WILL NOT be purchasing the shelving for Mrs.. Again, we have delivered everything to the Howards as promised.
