I went to the Knox Street Postal Center (KSPC) to ship items. I have typically dealt with the same employee for over a year. There has never been any issues and rapport was typically strong, until now. I brought the items, which he packed and therefore saw the contents of, to the KSPC at 9:06AM on a Monday. The shipment was to arrive at the destination by Wednesday evening. Insurance was NOT offered on this shipment.
I tracked the shipment on Wednesday to see where it was in transit, however the status still said "Shipping label created". There was no movement. I called FedEx, they said it was never picked up. I called KSPC and another employee answered the phone who seemed to be very timid and unaware of what was going on. After many phone calls and lost time, the original employee had to return to the center that night and made it very well-known to me that he was "*** off and didn't want to deal with this." and he would "file a complaint with FedEx about the driver since this happens so much." His negative tone was unlike anything I have experienced in the past year or so of shipping with him. This tone continued for the next several days, as I asked about cameras and what else we can do to try and determine where the package is - as any concerned customer would. The response to the cameras was "I saw the box leave, it isn't here anymore, the driver took it." His response should have been a bit more welcoming to reviewing the footage rather than defense. I never received a call from KSPC, I always had to call them. There was no urgency or sense of ownership for this lost/stolen package. There was no reason for such constant hostility or negativity from the employee whenever I called to inquire on any updates, since they were not giving me any proactively. Several days later, the employee is now defending the FedEx driver and saying he won't do anything further. He will not refund my shipping cost or provide me with the standard $100 claim reimbursement.

Desired Outcome

Contact by the Business I would like my items returned to me since there is obvious theft here. It is either collusion by the employee and FedEx driver, or just the employee acting on his own. The employee also tried to tell me that FedEx package scans are NOT real-time, so there might be a delay between pick up and the depot. It has been 8 days.

This customer has shipped with us countless times over the past two years, he is correct in our business relationship...Strong and Friendly. Insurance is ALWAYS offered on all shipments and in this instance as per most,it was declined. I did return to KSPC on Wednesday night to assist in the dealings with this misplaced package. I was not "*** off and did not want to deal with this". I was *** off that FedEx had lost/misplaced a package of one of our customers.

No complaint against driver, rather an inquiry about two previous packages that had never received scans. These packages have since been delivered by the way, with no complaints from either customer.

There was no constant hostility. Only hostility customer received was when he said..."you stole my F#ing package. I got hostile after that. I've worked with KSPC for the better part of 11 years now with zero complaints, let alone accusations of thievery. KSPC itself, in it's 23+ years of assisting customers with shipping needs has never been accused of theft before.

Packages unfortunately go missing sometimes. We try our hardest to get them located and delivered with a very high success rate. This customer filed his own claim with FedEx from what I was able to ascertain from our last and final conversation. This information, coupled with accusations of theft leads me to believe he no longer needed or wanted my help in recovery of his package. I've since closed my claim with FedEx and consider this matter no longer my concern.
