Koch & Son Reviews (1)

Review: On November 24th I phoned [redacted] of Koch and Sons because my water was turning light orange in my house. On November 25th, He spent less than an hour in my house testing the water and claiming that the water softener was working and that it was my well water. When I started to ask him questions so that I could understand what he was saying, he told me he was going to charge me an extra $10 for each question. he charged my $120 which I paid and left telling me to run my water outside and that if it didn't run clear to call him and he would open up the well and raise the pump which might have settled after many years at too low a place in the well. When I phoned him later that evening, he told me he would come out the next day. He didn't come, didn't phone, and told me he would be out on Friday morning. By friday late afternoon, he finally responded to my message to tell me he wasn't coming until Monday for various reasons. On December 1st, he opened the well and removed the pump and measured it. The pump had not sunk based on his measurement. he told me he was at a loss, and said I needed a new well. he put the pump back in the well and added chlorine and told me to run it outside but was angry when I asked him how long to run it. He was there for less than an hour, spent time during that hour on his cell phone, and then before he left told me the bill was $600. I told him he had used no parts, his assistant [redacted] was there only for the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes, and there was no way the bill was $600. He told me that he was done and that he was going to eat the bill and drove away. His assistant [redacted] was in the car and heard him. I called a well driller who told me that was ridiculous that I didn't need a new well, and suggested another water softener company. Yesterday evening I had someone respond immediately to my phone call from another well water softener company who came out to my home, and explained the iron level was definitely fixable with a water softener and is now fixing the problem. This morning [redacted] phoned me to say he was putting a mechanics lien on my house for the money (the additional $600) and was coming after me for legal fees and hung up the phone. I called a well driller who told me that was ridiculous that I didn't need a new well, and suggested another water softener company.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my $120, and for him to do as he said and "eat the bill". I would like this resolved and no mechanics lien put on my home.
