Koeppel Nissan, Inc. Reviews (11)

Review: I am writing an official complaint with the Revdex.com. My name is [redacted] and in April 2013 I purchased a new 2013 Nissan Rogue SV AWD from Koeppel Nissan. It was the first time I purchased vehicle and I entrusted the people at Koeppel Nissan to help me find the proper vehicle for me and my son.

I ended up purchasing the Nissan Rogue which I had seen In numerous places and ads with MSRP of $24,999.00 for the SV AWD Model. My father helped me with the purchase by trading in his 2005 Chevrolet Impala for $2500.00 and adding a down payment of $4500.00 totaling $7000.00 towards the purchase.

It may have been the excitement of having a new vehicle for the first time or maybe my inexperience with finances but I am asking for your help. I signed a contract that was given to me and it's very confusing how I ended up with a vehicle that has a total sale price including the down payment, of $50,057.44.

I am schedule and currently pay $598.02 a month for 72months and that to totals $43,057.44 I have tried speaking with representatives at Koeppel Nissan but they say that nothing is wrong and that is what the cost of that vehicle was quoted.

I just can not believe that from a MSRP of $25,000.00, I am ending up paying twice the value of the vehicle.

Please help me. I do not mind keeping the vehicle if it can be re-negotiated to a reasonable price, or even canceling this contract and I would give the vehicle back. The payments are sky-high for this type of vehicle and I can barley provide for my child and myself with my salary.

Thank you in advanced for your help !

Sincerely

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would for the payments of my car to be lower down how it was suppose to be in the beginning when I first got the car.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Review: The dealership was trusted to expidite the paper work to the bank I was pre approved to finance through; I could have done it my self. I learned my personal information was used to shop around for rates at other banks.Desired Settlement: I don't even know what to desire...

Business

Response:

In the best interest of our customers, the finance managers at Koeppel Nissan usually submit the credit application to a few different lenders in an attempt to obtain the best interest rate and finance terms. That was the case here. The customer filled out a credit application, signed a buyer's order, and financed a vehicle through MCU, after we determined this was the bank that would give her the best interest rate.

Review: Purchased a 2015 Nissan Rogue S AWD from this dealer on 02/**/15. Dealer charged us from Intercept GPS tracking install( $1220) and Vehicle Vin Etching ($1295). Dealer did not provided us with paperwork from this theft protection nor was any document referring to the contract of this product from the manufacturer to the consumer to install of this protection signed as well as sale of these products and limitations to claims. I do not want these services nor did I request them and would like a full refund of both charges and well as applicable taxes paid unless dealer can proved signed documentation stating that I agreed to have both of the theft protection items installed.Desired Settlement: I demand a full refund of the $1220 and $1295 as well as applicable taxes either to myself or the finance company that has a lien on the car.

we left voicemails yesterday 3/*, and today 3/*/2015. I sent the customer an email that we will gladly refund the sales amounts of both items as well as the sales tax, and void the contracts for both items. a check will be prepared immediately, the customer must get me his account number to ensure the money will be applied towards the correct [redacted] loan

Review: On of 9/**I went to the dealership(Koeppel Nissan) to discuss my existing lease with the Nissan Altima that I had at that time. I was under the impression that it was expiring at the end of September. A salesperson, was kind enough to confirm that it was actually ending in January of 2014. My intention, at that time was to just simply return the automobile and not proceed with another lease. I had an older automobile, Saturn, and it would suffice for my needs. However, the sales person proceeded to explain to me a promotional program in effect at the time called, Loyalty Program which I found desirable. I was explained that by using this program, all fees/charges would be waived if I signed a lease for a new automobile. I wanted to take a few days to think about the offer and the salesperson cautioned me that the program could expire at any time and for me to decide sooner than later.

I decided that it was a good deal and therefore I went back on Saturday, 9/**, to discuss further. We were discussing the different options for several hours. I explained, to the salesperson, about the overage on mileage on my existing automobile. He physically came out of the showroom, because the automobile was parked there, saw the wear and tear and the mileage and he even commented that the overage was “not that much”(my limit was 39K and it was about 43.5K). He stated to me that the Loyalty Program would absorb this. As the paperwork was being prepared and through the whole process, it was NEVER stated to me that I would not be responsible for anything else besides $150 for the registration fees. I was been told repeatedly, the Loyalty Program was a great promotion and was going to facilitate waiving all these fees. I had to act very fast, however, because it would end in a day or two.

Six weeks after the agreement was signed, I received a certified letter from Nissan stating that I owe $1794.18. I immediately brought it to the salesman I dealt with and he in turn gave it to manager. He did contact Nissan, while I was waiting on the floor, in order to resolve this. After discussing the matter with Nissan, he added that I may still get another invoice for $106. He asked me that when I get it, to scan it and email to him and he provided me with his business card. From that point on, I was dealing with this indiviual.

A week later I received another invoice for $927.18. I scanned and send it to him, as per his request. A few days later I received a voice message stating that he was working to resolve this item. Then a few days after that I received an email, stating that the excess mileage and taxes, for the amount of $811.78 are “non-negotiable” and I should contact NISSAN myself and explain them the Loyalty Program and ask them to waive the fees!!!!!

I have tried since then, to resolve the issue, but in vein. In addition, the matter has been given to a collection agency and now I am receiving harassing communications for this matter.

I’d like to add that this is my third automobile with Koeppel Auto Group, and my payment record has been immaculate. I feel in this case I was given Misleading Statements, and False Advertisement and therefore I’d like to lodge a complaint against:[redacted]Desired Settlement: I'd like for the dealership to assume the cost of the excess mileage

Business

Response:

As a gesture of goodwill towards a prior customer, Koeppl Nissan has agreed to send the customer a check in the amount of $400 towards the excess miles that he was ultimately responsible for. We have been exchanging emails with the customer, and this agreement was mutually reached between the dealership and customer. We apologize for not corresponding with the Revdex.com quicker, but have been in contact with the customer and have come to terms with everything at this point.

A copy of the check is attached

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: Seller and manager agreed to lower my monthly APR if I purchase a three extra warranties. 1 100,000 miles Nissan warranty, intercept and key replacement warranty. I got the loan thru [redacted] and they said do not provide any kind of rate discount if you buy an external product. I contacted other people that have knowledge about vehicle loans and they say that is no such a thing like a rate reduction if you purchase a warranty. I went back to the dealer to get my money back for all of those extra warranties and now they don't want to return my money. Finally I was able to get some money back but I am still missing over 1300 dollars for those services.Desired Settlement: I just need my money back

Response:

To Whom it May Concern, Thank you for your attention to this matter. We had [redacted] visit us at the dealership and have resolved this matter. His refunds are being sent out today. Thank You, Charles F[redacted]General ManagerKoeppel Auto Group

Review: Vehicle was purchase with addtional service plan included. All documents and contracts clearly state that the service contract is not required in order to purchase the vehicle or to obtain financing. [redacted] which is the company that holds the service contract, was contacted in an attempt to cancel this contract. I was informed that only the dealer is able to cancel the contract. When returning to the dealer, I spoke to the [redacted] which then told me that the service contract was REQUIRED by the bank and if I cancelled the service contract my loan would be cancelled or have a higher rate.

I called up the bank in which the vehicle is financed and I was told there is no problem with cancelling my service contract and that my loan would be fine.

When I returned to the dealer, the [redacted] insisted that this was required and that he cannot cancel my service contract.

I also received multiple credit denial letters after the date of my loan closing which I did not authorize.Desired Settlement: I would like my service contract cancelled and refunded back into the loan.

Review: To whom it may concern:

On December [redacted] 2015 I went to Koppel Nissan to follow up on a $2,300 check that was suppose to be refunded to my loan due to my maintenance cancellation. Upon my arrival the general sales manager by the name of Joseph Clem approached me about the Complaint that they received from the Revdex.com. He stated to me and I quote "There is nothing I can do about the 0% interest on your current loan due to the fact a time has lapsed, however I am willing to swap your current vehicle for a 2015 Nissan Sentra SR for the same amount of your current loan with the same payments with a 0% interest rate for 72 months. Upon Joseph doing the financial breakdown the numbers he quoted me didn't match what he stated to be in the conversation as we previously spoke about. he stated the break down as $21,239 owed in old car ($379 X72 month @4.92%). He then proceeded to break down the sentra at $20,970 MSRP with $1500 discount which lead the vehicle for $18250 which matched the current loan amount that I have. Then suddenly the amount he quoted changed to $27,321 ($375 X 72 months with 0%) which there was no explanation as to why the amount risen from $18250 to $27,321 an $8000 increase.Desired Settlement: All I would like done is for the swap to be done correctly with the 0% for 72 months with the amount that I currently owe with the same payments a month and for the alarm to be added on their part due to the fact I paid for the alarm for my current vehicle which I would be losing during the swap which was added to my current loan with everything taxes INCLUDED!

Response:

While we are able to take the customer's Versa in on trade, payoff the balance owed, use only the warranty cancellation as a down payment, include Gap insurance and maintain the same monthly payment for the customer on a new 2015 Sentra SR using 0% for 72 months, the amount owed will be more. The reason for the difference is because she has been using her Versa for the last 9 months, and we are taking it on trade as a pre-owned vehicle, and then selling her a Sentra, which is a significantly more expensive vehicle. The MSRP on the new Sentra SR is 20970, and the Versa she purchased back in March had a 16710 MSRP. We used a trade value of $11500 (well over the actual trade value, due to the fact that she is a previous customer with an issue that we are trying to accommodate) while she owes 21239 on the car (including the extended service contract which we are cancelling in the amount of $2300). Plus we offered a significant discount on the new vehicle. I have attached a buyer's order, breaking down the new deal for reference. The Sentra currently has 0% for 72 months for qualified buyers through January [redacted], 2016 The Versa that she purchased back in March had 0% financing available for 36 months, not the 72 months that the loan was for, which is why there wasn't 0% on that original loan.

Review: On ** August 2013 I took my Nissan Sentra (SE-R Spec V) to Koeppel Nissan for service. The problem: The instrument cluster (the dashboard) was not functioning, that is, no lights, no working gauges, except the "Service engine soon" message on the dashboard. In addition, the car did not start. I had to use a tow truck to take my car to this dealer. Koeppel Nissan took one complete week to return my car on Friday * September 2013 after many calls. By the way, they do not usually give the courtesy of replying to phone call messages or emails. Their excuse: "we are very busy". On that date, 9/*/13, I had to pay $1,066.46 after, according to them, they had to replace the "fuel level sensor", the "crank sensor" and the "cam sensor", plus new battery and oil change. On that date, and trusted them and I left this dealer repair shop with my car supposedly fixed. More than three weeks later (i.e. 19 days later) on Wednesday 9/**/13 the car came down with exactly the same problem: instrument cluster not working. I took the car back to Koeppel Nissan and brought up the issue that the repair was under warranty. The invoice, dated 9/*/13, says at the bottom: "These repairs are covered by a limited warranty. Labor & Parts 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first." I also explained them that I needed the car repaired as soon as possible and that I had already all my plans set to travel out of town in a long trip on Saturday 9/**/13, after the end of the tenancy, scheduled for 9/**/13, of the apartment I was living in. The service adviser, however, said that my car would only be serviced on Friday 9/**/13. I waited for more than 48 hours (never heard from them again, no phone calls or emails replies) and in the afternoon of that date, 9/**/13, when I went there in person, they finally advised me on the situation of my car and this time it was another new problem: a "back reverse switch", but I still had to wait for almost two hours more. When they said that my car was ready and I was ready to leave I notice that the dashboard lights were on, BUT the gauges were not working, so I complained and the technician said that he will have to replace a fuse again because when the car goes into reverse the fuse would blow (and that's what happened when they pulled back my car from the repair shop to give it to me). The technician replaced the fuse at that moment and the gauges were working again. They also advised me that the whole cluster would have to be replaced. I decided then and there to take my car to another dealer: Great Neck Nissan LLC. This dealer informed me that Koeppel Nissan used the wrong fuses (20 amps instead of 10 amps) but in order to find that out the car incurred in another bill (currently pending for $638.10) and this new dealer stated that I may need to pay for a replacement part, the EGI harness, which has a listed value of $1,197.37. At this moment (Tuesday * October 2013) my car is sitting in the Great Neck Nissan repair shop, in a non-working condition and the work is suspended because I can't afford to pay them. As a result, I had to change my travel plans completely and incur in hotel bills, due to the fact that I no longer have an apartment. No car and no housing. Money running out.Desired Settlement: I want my money back. Koeppel Nissan did not fix my car problem, but rather they created a new problem that will cost me more money (so far, an additional $638.10). I want my $1,066.46 back because the repair that initially has to be made resulted in additional damage. In addition, they spent an inordinate amount of time trying to "repair" the original problem. They not only aggravated me initially, making me wait for the longest time with no feedback or a courtesy call or email message, they have aggravated me again because I was counting on my car to move myself out of my apartment and to travel outside New York. Additional money had to be spent renting an U-Haul truck.

Response:

We completed all the work that was requested by the customer. One of the reasons that the customer had the car towed in for was because all the lights on the cluster were off. When we told the customer that they needed to replace the dashboard cluster, they declined to do so. This is the job for which the customer is filing a complaint. We only charged the charged the customer a diagnostic charge of $162.00. All the other work was done as requested. In order to satisfy the customer and rectify the situation I would willingly refund the diagnostic charge of $162.00.

Review: Repair/Warranty Issues and Sales; I purchased my vehicles brand new from Teddy Nissan which is located at the Bronx, My first complain is about the sales, During this issue the Teddy Nissan and I were dealing with both vehicles; Their Vehicles and my vehicles. The sales person and I were dialoguing how much the monthly payment will be, after that I always keep asking to the sales person how much my car will be worth for them, in order for me to see if is a good idea to do the business with them, they never told me, he always keep ignoring me. So at the end of the day, they gave me all the paper work to sign, I read them completely. The sales person just told me how much will be the monthly payment but he never told me for how long will be the term. When I was signing the contract I quick noticed the term months was not in the contract, I asked the person who was making to sign the contract "Hey" For how long will be this contract? (He respond me 60 months) I signed that page but the rest of the other pages was saying 75 months which I could not see and notice cause he had already told me the payments will be 60 months.

Second Complaint is about the Warranty/ Repair Issues; The first 3 months the vehicles was perfectly fine with no problem. After the 3 and 6 months I noticed the vehicles is having mechanism/transmission problem. I received a notification Note (RECALL) by Nissan regarding about this issue. I was taking the vehicles several times to koeppel Nissan and other dealership to see what every dealers says about this issues, I also took the vehicles to different personal mechanics. All the Nissan dealers already knew about this issues when I just show them the note (RECALL) But some of these dealers asked me Where did I buy the vehicles? I responded them the vehicles was not purchased in this place, I bought the vehicles to different dealership. They always made me believe they were going to do something with me, But they didn't. Every time I took my vehicles to those dealers, The problem never was found during the warranty is active but the warranty just expired then they now find the mechanism/Transmission Problem. I have all the evidences and proofs every time when I went to the different dealership to do the maintenances.Desired Settlement: Billing adjustment, Exchange or return vehicle, Repair and replacement.

Review: To whom it may concern:

On March [redacted] 2015, I purchased a new car from Koppel Nissan in [redacted]... Upon my purchase of the vehicle the finance manager by the name of John Leung stated to me because of my excellent credit I qualified for the promotion of 0% interest on my loan for the period it was offered for.. Upon the finalization of the sale John Leung rest assured me that my loan will have the 0% for the duration of that period... As I was reviewing my contract I noticed that the information that he first stated to me wasn't on my contract as stated.. The loan percentage states its 4.92% instead of the 0% as stated originally.. I went to store and notified them of the error and they stated it will be fixed and I should not worry. the loan percentage still hasn't been fixed and I feel I have been mislead by Nissan. all I want in return is my percentage to be corrected with the 0% and my payments to be adjusted..Desired Settlement: all I want in return is my percentage to be corrected with the 0% and my payments to be adjusted..

we reviewed the customers options with her yesterday, explaining that 0% financing was available for only 36 months on the vehicle that she purchased at the time of purchase. At a 72 month term, which is what she went with, there was not 0% available. We have processed the cancellation of an extended warranty that she had purchased, and reviewed options to get her into a newer car, higher model, with 0% financing for 72 months, at the same monthly payments, which she respectfully declined. We believe the situation to be rectified at this time, but if anything further is needed, we will gladly comply.

Review: the dealer advertized that with every car they sell they give a complete set of owner manuels and 2 sets of keys igot the keys but no books the car is a 2014 with 16 miles on it then they tried to give n\me books for a 2011 this is not good, all cars should have there right books. and I am waiting 10 days for a 500 dollar refund to my credit card.Desired Settlement: I want my owners manuels for 2014 frontier and my 500 refund to my credit card.
