Koeppel Volkswagen sales and finance representatives lack integrity and transparency in their interactions. I was asked to "co-sign" for my daughter's lease and I agreed to "co-sign". Instead I find out through our first statement that I am the "borrower". I was never told to be the "borrower".

Review: This is the letter I wrote to customer service and did not hear back from anyone at the dealship.

Hi, I was in your dealership on Saturday to purchase a 2009 VW CC and was very unhappy with the way I was treated. I spoke with [redacted] about coming to see the car and made sure before I drove 2hours that the cpo financing rate of 1.9 was available on this car. He talked with someone and confirmed it was for me. So I went to the dealer on Saturday we did all the paper work and I was qualified, after 2-1/2 hours of going back and forth on the price of 17,690. I believe the [redacted] name was [redacted]. ([redacted] can confirm who it was) We settled at 17,390. Once he came to me finally with the paperwork. He had a higher rate and said that is the best he could do. Now we confirmed everything before hand and he was now back tracking. Pulling the bait and switch with the rate. I am not happy with the shady lending practice I experienced at your dealership and will be contacting the Revdex.com about your deceiving ways of doing business. All I wanted to do was buy a car that day and had to walk out of your dealership very irritate. I am a professional sales representative myself and do not or would every treat any of my customers the way I was treated on Saturday. [redacted]....Desired Settlement: I would like to be able to purchase the 2009 Volkswagen CC with 5,000 miles at the price of $17,390 plus approx. $500 in dealership fees, $425 in registration fees and Pennsylvania tax of 6% for the specified rate of 1.9% for 60 month term. Which is the terms we agreed upon.

To Whom it May Concern,

I have previously responded to this compliant but it has been brought to my attention that you system does not show my response.

In regards to this matter both parties were not able to come to terms on a sales agreement and another customer purchased the vehicle.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

There is no resolution, because I would never buy a car from a dealer who has shady practices. We agreed to a price on the car I wanted and it was supposed to be certified at a rate of 1.9% and at the time of the sale they changed the rate on me. That is not good business. It's called bait and switch. Also I was told several times I would be refunded for the difference in the registration fees which they were charging about 4 times as much as it costs to register a car. If you read some of these other complaints they told them the same thing and the response from the car dealership was that there are office fees and other stuff involved. Which tells me the sales people are told to lie or one hand does not know what the other is doing. With that being said I would never in my life buy a car from this dealership or recommend anyone to buy from them.....

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: Entered into a new lease of a vehicle - with the understanding and was told that I would not be incurring any other charges on a return of a 3 year lease with only 4300 miles on a car

Received a settlement invoice for wear and use for $920.89

Dealer after made sale never returns calls - [redacted] nowhere to be found to even resolve this matter

If that was the case would not have entered into a new lease for a sale they wanted to make for memorial day weekend sales and paid of the lease on the car I presently have and gave up only with 4300 miles (from a 3year lease)Desired Settlement: Resolve this settlement invoice and have dealer honor there commitment where I was told at the time of the sale that I wasn't going to see any bills - since I entered a brand new lease for 3 years with another VW

Response:

To Whom it May Concern,

I have responded to this compliant through both the Volkswagen of America customer compliant department and through Volkswagen Credit Inc. The charges in question are being requested by Volkswagen Credit Inc. They are due to excess wear and tear and it is their contractual right. While I don't agree with the charges I do not work for Volkswagen Credit and our company Koeppel Volkswagen Inc. has nothing to do with their decision making process. We in no way implied or expressed that we would be responsible for any charges on the leased vehicle being returned. We merely leased her a new vehicle. Any resolution should be sought through Volkswagen Credit.

Review: This buisness did not want to sign my cancellation agreement form, a form inwhich by law they have to sign if presented.Desired Settlement: Would like all three warranties cancelled and refunded.

I will need the VIN of the vehicle purchased to research this further. I do not have a customer file matching your exact name. Thank you.

Review: I purchase a 2012 VW Passat from Koeppel on Sept **, 2013 that was sold as Certified Pre-Owned. After 4,000 miles I noticed a loud whining noise and brought it to my local dealership where I reside on June [redacted]. They had the car for a couple days and diagnosed it as tire noise, the rear tires being "chopped" and causing the high pitched noise. I called up Koppel about this that Saturday on the [redacted] and the service rep said it is a wheel bearing and as I'm 4 hours away from them to take it to another dealer for a 2nd opinion. On the [redacted] I went to another dealership and the service manager said he felt the tires on the inside were indeed chopped and causing my noise. He sent me over to a neighbor dealership for an alignment check to see if that was causing the tires to be chopped. I went down to the neighbor dealership the same day and they performed an alignment check and said the toe is out of spec and needs an alignment and confirms with the first 2 dealerships that the 2 rear tires are indeed chopped and causing the tire noise. I call up Koeppel again about this the same day, told them about this, and asked to check in the service history if an alignment was ever performed. I was told one has not been. And that confirms an alignment was never done and caused the tires to wear prematurely on the inside, thus requiring replacement to correct the noise. I have called and left messages for [redacted], [redacted], at Koeppel, and have not heard back.Desired Settlement: I am requesting 2 new tires, mounting and balancing, an alignment, in addition to the cost of my travel to Koeppel. Otherwise I request a check for $452.73 to cover the cost of 2 new tires, mounting and balancing, and alignment at my local dealership in which I was invoiced.

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. I have reviewed your compliant and must say that I find no reason why Koeppel Volkswagen would be responsible for your current problem. I have checked your vehicle history and I do see that your car was indeed a Certified Pre Owned. Performing an alignment is not a necessary procedure if it is not needed on the vehicle at that time. We road test the vehicle to determine if it is needed or not. As you stated you had been driving the vehicle for almost 8 months and 4000 miles before you noticed a problem. A vehicle can be caused to go out of alignment by hitting a single pot hole or anything else that causes a jarring motion to the vehicle. If this was something that was brought to our attention within a few days of purchase I might look at it differently but due to the elapsed time and the amount the car has been driven I feel as though Koeppel Volkswagen should have no liability towards your repairs.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]As it was explained to me, it is not something that would have been noticed within a few days, instead it takes thousands of miles for the tires to wear. Tires don't wear within days, it takes mileage. It just so happen to be 4,000 miles before they wore down enough to cause a noise. That's what 3 other dealers and [redacted] told me. And that's why it happened all of a sudden. The car still drives straight, that's not the problem. The camber is fine and within spec. The problem is the negative toe which was explained to be having caused the inner tire wear and why it doesn't pull to one side while driving. Fact still remains an alignment was never performed and as such caused the tires to wear on the inside causing the loud tire noise. To have to change tires after 4,000 miles is absurd, especially for tires that only have 23,000 miles on them and last for 40,000. They measure at 6/32" so they still have lots of life left and at least another 20,000 miles if not for the alignment never being performed.

Response:

I have already stated that I have no obligation towards your charges and my stance will not change.

If the Revdex.com feels the need to leave this compliant open for further argument then so be it. [redacted] will continue to argue in a speculative nature that I am responsible for his tires and I will continue to assert that I have no contractual or legal obligation to pay for them. The vehicle met all VW Certification standards and New York State safety and emission standards.

[Your Answer Here]

No speculation at all. 3 dealers said it was because of the tires, not a wheel bearing that you thought it was. 3 dealers felt the tires worn on the shoulder. An alignment checked proved it was out. Alignment done and new tires on, no noise. So, actually, the speculation is all on you since you say it must have happened after I purchased it. Yet, again, the fact still remains your never did an alignment, you failed to certify the car properly, so much that even VWoA was shocked that one was never done, not even when it was Certified.

Review: Back in May I have terminated my extended warranty on the car 2012 Jetta, because the car has been sold.

I have called the insurance company that had the extended warranty in place for my car and I was told that the policy has been terminated and check was sent to the dealership and was cashed June [redacted]. Check # [redacted].

Insurance company didn't tell me the amount of the refund since they said that they issue administrative fees to the dealership and dealership is supposed to issue a refund to me.

Contract # [redacted]

Name of the insurance company [redacted].

Coverage - extended car warranty

Status - Terminated as requested by me.

I have been calling the dealership since JULY and not one is bothering to call me back, they keep transferring me to voicemails. I was able to speak once to someone at the Finance Department there the first time I called but after it dead silence. they are either not in, with a client or never call me back. Reception keeps telling me call tomorrow, and as I call - dead silence.

At this point I am not sure how to proceed.

Thank you

Review: I leased a Volkswagen Passat from Koeppel Volkswagen in 2012. It was a 36 month lease with 36,000 miles allowed. At the end of 24 months I had put on a little over 34,000 miles on the car. My option was to purchase more miles. By the end of the second year I received numerous letters and calls from the dealer asking me to come in to talk about my options. In December 2013 I went into the dealer to take a look at my options. Koeppel Volkswagen offered to buy-out my old lease and to get me into a new lease. At that time Volkswagen was running the - $0 due at signing - lease special. Having taken that into account, leasing a new car (taxes) and buying additional miles would've cost me about the same. When I negotiated the price for the new car they made it clear that I would not have to pay anything for my old car other than for minor scratches based on their inspection. Salesperson ([redacted]) specifically said when asked that I would not be liable for my old car and the car will be bought out. Hence, pay a little more for the new car. At the end we agreed on a price for the new car and I signed a new lease.

About three months later (3/**/14) I received a bill from Volkswagen Credit for charges related to early termination of my lease- $2,084.85. I immediately called my dealer and asked what the charges were about. They asked me to send them a copy of the bill. Then I received a call from a [redacted] named [redacted]. He stated that the bill is outrageous. Asked me to call VW credit immediately and let them know that I am not willing to pay this bill. He said he will give a call on my behalf as well.

VW Credit said that the dealer has mislead me and that nothing they could do about it. Since the dealer did not buy-out the car and only made the remaining payments, it is considered an early termination.

I called the dealer back and spoke to the [redacted]. He said he will send the bill over to their [redacted] and get back to me. I have not heard back from him since and I have left numerous voice-mails.Desired Settlement: I want Koeppel Volkswagen to refund me for the bill or pay the bill.

I would have never agreed to a new lease if they were clear about not buying out my car. Never at any point did they ever mention that they would terminate my lease. They said they were going to buy the car out.

I am a returning customer and I never thought that they would use such underhanded methods. They deliberately mislead me.

Review: I bought a 2016 Jetta on 09-**-2015 at Koeppel Volkswagen [redacted] by mistake (lack of information from Mr Leo V[redacted], Finance Manager) I bought the Mechanical Failure Services Contract Plan ($2,870). The following day, after talked to my husband, I went to see Mr Leo V[redacted] from Finance and I cancelled it. I called Fidelity Warranty Services (Contract # [redacted]) to make sure it was cancelled ) and I was told by Desiree that a full reimbursement was made for $2,870.00 to the selling dealer and they were responsible for the refund to lienholder (MCU-Auto Loan). I have been contact the dealer Mr Mike K[redacted],Sales Consultant, Mr Leo V[redacted], Finance Manager, Mr Niño T[redacted], Sales Manager with negatives results. They refer me to each other and nobody knows about my reimbursement which it should be reimbursed to my my car loan account.Desired Settlement: The manager' dealer should at least answer my calls, and resolve my problem. Be professional like they tried to be at the time of purchasing. I really need that the full reimbursement be accredit to my Car Loan statement /MCU as soon as possible. thanks.

Response:

The refund was processed as soon as the cancelation was finalized. A refund check was sent to MCU and it has been cashed. I've attached a copy. You'll have to speak with MCU if they have not yet credited the money to you account. They defiantly have it though.
