Revdex.com:As I stated in my initial complaint, Ihave no problems regarding the initial service visit to my home by ***sHeatingThis was their first time at my home and other than a flooding steam boiler, they had no idea what to expectI feel that what was said to be done and whatI was charged for this visit was reasonableMy problem is regarding the secondand third service visits. At the time of the first visit the repairman discovered thatone of my two steam vents was not properly venting (vent on right side ofsystem)At the end of the visit, he told me that replacing my old faulty steamvents would allow the steam to be released from the system, thus preventing itfrom flooding***’s again pointed this out in their response by stating"The two main *** vents were old and needed replaced, this was thecause of the inadequate heating"My boiler flooding is the reason why Icalled ***s Heating in the first place and had them out to my homeBecause Iwas told that my old vents were faulty and replacing them would resolve theflooding issue, as well as the fact that the sight glass had filled again in a weekafter the first service visit, I agreed to have them out to install the two newsteam ventsHowever, within a week or so after having the brand newvents installed, the sight glass was filled yet againNot only that, but Inoticed that of the two newly installed steam vents, one of them was notproperly venting (vent on right side of system)This is exactly how my systemwas operating before ***s Heating ever came out to my homeIt is for thisreason that I want to be refunded for the installation of the steam vents andrefunded for the new steam vents, and why I would like my original, functioningvents returned to meI realize that ***s Heating stated that they no longer havemy original ventsUnfortunately, this is not my problemI did not instruct***s Heating to take my vents when they finishedIt was also stated that Idid not specifically ask to keep my original ventsThis is trueI did not askfor them because furnace work isn't something that I have done on a regular basis.Knowing now that my original vents were functioning in the same capacity asthese new vents, I feel that ***s Heating had absolutely no reason to takethem or replace them***s Heating can determine how they would like to handlethisI feel that it's worth mentioning that I have sinceresearched pricing information on the *** steam vents which wereinstalledThese range from $to $73.85, with one price of $foundSonot only were my original, functioning vents taken and replaced, I wasovercharged for the new vents as well ($329).I would also like to be refunded for the third service visitas I feel I should never have been charged for this visit to begin withWhen Icalled to setup the third service visit, the receptionist informed me thatthere would be no charge if the issue was related to the work they had already performed, which it was; my boiler was still floodingI was still charged at the end ofthis visitAlso, the reason I did not call between October 22nd and November26th is because I had just spent a total of $servicing my system andstill having the same exact problemsI really did not feel comfortable havingsomeone out again but after the boiler completely flooded I felt that I had noother choice.Lastly, I feel that I need to respond to the claim that Istated that I was doing work on the system myself before and after ***sHeaintg was out for serviceThis is completely untrueI stated that I was researchingthis issue myself online and in steam heating books AFTER being charged by ***sHeating with no resolutionFurthermore, I only said this to Mr.*** directlyon 12/when I called him to discuss a refund for the second and third servicevisitsPersonally, I don't think this is at all unreasonableI wanted to knowwhat was being done by ***s Heating during their hours of work at my homeafter which they did not resolve my problemAlso, because I am hesitant tohave another company out to my home with similar results, such as accumulatinga large service charge but never resolving the issueI hope that becoming morefamiliar with my heating system will prevent this from happening to me again.I have been charged a total of $for services that didnot resolve my flooding boilerI would simply like to be refunded for the installationof the new steam vents ($202.38), refunded the amount of the new vents ($329),and I would like my original vents returned to me***s Heating can determinehow they would like to retrieve the vents currently installed at my locationIwould also like refunded for the third service visit ($89.95)I appreciate your further assistance in this matter
Regards,***

and needed replaced, this was causing the inadequate heat. We ordered the two new main vents needed for the system. The second service visit was October 22, 2014. We returned to install the two new main vents and adjust the controls. The cost of the parts was $329 plus $202.38 labor to install the new vents. These are the parts that Mr. [redacted] refers to as “the bleeders” in his complaint The third service visit was November 26,2014. There was sediment found in the sight glass. At this point, it was determined that there may be an issue with the system pipes deteriorating or the sizing of the boiler to the amount of radiation that is in the home and with steam systems, that is very critical. This is a problem that we were not to deal with and recommended to Mr. [redacted] that he call in someone that specializes in. steam systems with old piping. The boiler is a newer installation on the original piping, We did not install this boiler so we have no way of knowing if the boiler was sized properly to the old piping and radiators. We are willing to refund the charge of the last visit of $89.95 and $100 off the second visit as a courtesy. We do not feel that we, in any way, did any disservice to Mr. [redacted] vents are very " commonly replaced on steam systems and did need to be replaced. There was over a 4 week time between the second and third visit and Mr. [redacted] indicated to our service technician and office personnel that he had repeatedly tried to do his own adjustments, both prior to our visits and over the time from October 9, 2014 through November 26,2014, mentioning that he was becoming well versed on them from the internet.

Review: I contacted [redacted]'s heating to come out to deal with a flooding boiler. Between 3 visits they charged me around $1000. The boiler is still flooding and 1 of the 2 steam bleeders that were replaced because it was not functioning is still not working. The last visit was made because I was still having the same issues and I was told they were over their head and could do nothing else for me. They then tried to get me involved with a plumber friend of theirs and they were sure to let me know he would be charging $110 - $150 an hour. I have no problem paying for the initial visit, they didn't know what to expect. But I feel that to be charged almost $800 to have something "fixed" only to have it in the same operating condition it was in before this company came out is ridiculous. I would like the last two charges to be refunded and I would like my original steam bleeders back in return for the new ones they installed. Also, I never asked them to take my original bleeders and the guy Scott mentioned in passing that the bleeder company wanted to buy them for their museum. I don't know how true this claim was but if it's true then I feel that's extremely unprofessional. The owner was unapologetic and had nothing for me but snide remarks (calling me a "professional" because I'm now forced to try and tackle this job myself) so I would really appreciate your assistance.Desired Settlement: I would simply like the last two charges refunded. Installation of the new bleeders which do not work, the hours I was charged to install these. I will remove the steam bleeders and return them in exchange for my original steam bleeders.
