He stood at the front of the line yelling and demanding a refundI was in my office (which is behind walls) & could hear himI got up & asked if I could help resolve the issueHe said, "I need a manager"I explained that I was & could help himHe asked for a refund, I told him his wristband was good for all day & that we do not issue refunds if we are still openIt was not raining when he leftI would have offered him a pass ** come back but he responded with, "I live an hour away & I don't want to come back"He proceeded to go down the line of people yelling that *** was a rip off & not to come inHe stated he was going to cause havic & we would hear from his attorney(this is all on video)He continued to stand in line & yell to people, we had to send a police officer overBy the time the police officer got there, he was already walking towards the parking lotWhile all of this was going on, it was not rainingCostumer called moments later, asking to speak to a managerI called him back as soon as I got the mesg(I received the mesg mins after he called & called him asap) He asked if we issued refundsI said, "Is this the gentleman who just left?" Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/10/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This manager responded with her list of indoor activitiesAlmost all of these were an extra feeWe had already wasted $27, and they wante d us to spend more money? The only free indoor activitiesAvailable were animals, a pile of corn, and a few tractors to look atEverything else we encountered cost extraI cannot see how $to walk around tractors or play in corn is justifiableWe did not go on a hay ride as this manager statedWe went on the cow train which consisted of minutes waiting in line because staff allowed kids that were in a party to cut the line twice and being poured on while going in circles for maybe minutesI would like this manager to learn meteorologica terms because "slight drizzle"is a drastic understatementMy children and I were completely Soaked from the down pour that lasted significantly longer than "a few minutes at most." Since they claim to have everything on video, the manager would know that accusing my husband of "cutting everyone in line off" is an outright lieThere was no cutting in lineHe waited for an open windowHe also didn't ask for a manager until he phoned laterHe also did not "stand in line and yell at people." We left right away because we were so upset with how we were treated abd our children needed to be put into clean dry clothesI would also like to address the numerous times this manager points out that it was not raining when we left it was raining on and off, but that is irrelevant because all of our clothes were so soaking wet that more rain or no rain made no differenceWe needed to put new clothes on our children because I feared they would catch a coldIt's annoying to me how dramatic and inaccurate this managers response isIt just proves my point about poor customer serviceThat trip and this whole experience really upsets me, not only because of my hard earned money being wasted, but also because my kids were robbed of a fall activity that I cherished as a childInstead of a fun day at a nice pumpkin patch, they had a short trip to a place where they spent half their time waiting in line in the rainWe are not a family that can afford to go to a bunch of placesThat is why this is such a big deal to meI cannot make that day up to my kidsThus was just another day at work for this manager, but for me it was more than thatIt broke my heart that thus was what my poor kids got for their special fall treatIf this place has a no refund policy that they are so adamant about, why is it not posted on the premises or on their website? I don't know how these crooks sleep at night knowing that they rip off poor families who just want their kids to have a good time
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/11/05) */
I would like to start by addressing a few statements in the costumers last response1st sentence customer stated I responded with a list of the indoor activities, which is true, but I also stated all of the outdoor as wellI felt all activites were important to list as the customer stated in the first response that all activities were outsideSome activities do have additional costsMining station ($3-$6), the gift shop, the concession, and you can watch the glass blower for free, but can also make a request for a specific item at costI would have to say we would all agree that when you pay $8-$dollars for guests and older, you would have to pay for food and things in the gift shopThe costumer stated the only free activities were "animals, a pile of corn and few tractors to look at"This statement is incorrectI have listed all indoor/outdoor activities in my last statement and have listed the items in which have an additional cost in this statementI would like to respond to the costumers description of "a pile of corn"The corn pit is bushels of corn (56lbs a bushel), which comes to 111,328lbs of corn kernelsThe diameter is 40ft and the height is 36"Children and adults of all ages play in the corn for long periods of timeIt is one of our main attractionsThe costumer stated "A few tractors", there were antique tractors for adults and children to sit on, use the horn, turn the lights on and take family photosThe costumer stated their were animals, which is trueThere were female pigs who had 7-piglets, alpacas, sheep, cows, goats, ducks, chickens, etcThe costumer stated "staff allowed a party to cut in line"We have never allowed private parties to cut in lineThis was never mentioned to us in the history of the farmThe costumer addressed my comment of her husband cutting everyone in lineAgain, I have this on video of him walking from the inside of the park up to the front of the entry line, while people were waiting to get inOnce the entry staff was done with her current costumer, the disputing costumer stepped up to the window while there was a lineThe costumer stated her husband did not ask for a managerAgain, in my first response, I said I could hear what was going on as he was rather loud, and was worried for my employeeI asked if I could help and he said, "I need a manger"I explained I was the managerThe costumer stated it was irrelvent if it was raining or not as their cloths were soakedI had explained to costumer the wristband was good for the entire dayThe costumer stated he lived over an hour awayBy the address he submitted, he lives less than minsThe time the costumer left, they had an additional hours to change cloths and come backMy questions would be, is it the parks responsiblity for the costumers arriving on a day that was forcasted to rain? If it was raining as hard as the costumer states, why were people still coming in and waiting in line? The costumer stated her children were robbed of a fall activity that she cherished as a childAgain, is it the parks responsibility that the parents chose to come on a day that was forecasted to rain, did not bring rain jackets, and decided to leave and not returnThe park was not closed, we did not ask them to leave, and we still had people coming inThere were no other costumers who asked for a refundThe costumer stated they left right away because they were so upset by the way they were treatedWe treated the man who came to the window with extreme respectEven when he was screaming at the window, and swearing on the phone, I continued to be professionalOnce he bagan telling people in line not to come in, and threating an attorney, etcwe had sent a police officer outI have spoke to this officer since this complaint and he is willing to right a report on the event in which took place as he came over when he heard the costumer yellingThe customer stated "this is just another day for the manager"I take offense to this as this is not trueI impliment many positive activities at the parkI host youth with special needs day for those families who have special needs and they are at no costI invite foster villiages to come for freeI have donated over free entry passes ** fundraisers, charities, etcI have hosted a free 9/event in memory of 9/On Halloween we hosted a Scare Cancer event for those children in the area enduring cancerI do my job with pride and the farm prides itself on being a "family farm" and giving back to the communityIt is unfair for these guests to ask for thier money back after they stayed for an hour, made the decision to come on a day that was forecasted to rain, did not prepare for the rain, enjoy a ride, were given the option to comeback or do family activities in the indoor buildingThey caused a dramtic scene in which a police officer had to come overThey told people in line not to come in (which a few costumers had made comments to us as the male costumer was leaving)The costumer still continues to call us names, "crooks" and make unfair commentsI am still being professional while the costumer continues to strike commentsI also feel this complaint is unfair as the woman making the complaint was standing with her children away from the window (outside - no rain), while the male costumer was standing at the window under the over hangThe costumer has stated a few times they work hard for their money and are a family who can not afford to go a bunch of placesWe have many families and schools who choose us because we have so many activities for chidlren of all ages, and we are the least expensive compared to all of competitorsWe do offer coupons on line - which does not need to be printed, in the paper, mailers, magizines, etcThis business has been in business for years and have never been reported to the Revdex.comWe receive nurmerous compliments in how family oriented we are and how we care about our guests more than any other farm around
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/11/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't see the point of going back and forthManager thinks that talking about herself or what she supposedly does at work makes a difference to meIt does notWhat matters is my experienceIn my opinion, this company is composed of crooksI feel I was wronged, but I do not wish to continue this charadeIt is obvious we have different views, and the manager lacks the customer service skills needed to solve any issueIt is a shame, but I learned a lessonI will never return with my children
