Review: Air unit was installed however company failed to inform us of attic damage that was done resulting in ceiling tiles coming undone 7 years later.
We had an air conditioning unit installed in our home about 7 years ago. The unit has been working fine however we noticed that our ceiling tiles in our living room are starting to come undone. We weren't sure why this was happening so we went in our attic and come to find out that there was cardboard boxes and loose insulation directly above the ceiling tile that is coming undone. From what it appears when the unit was installed one of the technicians made a whole in our attic and did a "quick fix" by placing a cardboard box and loose insulation where the whole is and failed to let us know of this incident.
We immediately contacted Kool Air and the owner [redacted] was extremely rude and said he was too busy to come and check out the issue. We made several attempts to contact him and he failed to return our phone calls. We finally got him to agree to come and check out the issue on Friday, May 24th 2013, however he failed to show up or call to let us know he was not coming. This owner has been extremely uncooperative and unprofessional. Our family has used his company on two different occasions for installation of air conditioning units but will never use him again nor refer him to anyone. We are asking that Kool Air repairs our ceiling tiles and fix the whole that was created in our ceiling.Desired Settlement: We are seeking that Kool Air repairs our whole in our attic and fix the ceiling tiles that are coming undone

Response:
Business' Initial Response
[redacted] and I, [redacted], been friends for over 10 years. I helped with his A/C at his house about 10 years ago, hole in the sheetrock was from before I installed ducts in the attic. He wanted to install whole house of exhaust because he didn't have A/C yet. Now, its time to remodel their house again. They want me to pay for fixing old sheetrock ceiling tiles. If I had a hole in the living room, I would have complained 10 years ago. Not when I remodeling now to get something for free from their friend, [redacted].
Consumer's Final Response
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First of all [redacted] and I are not friends, I "hired" him to install a new AC unit because my house did not have AC. [redacted] was paid for his services he did not do me a favor by "helping" me install an AC unit. We never said we had a hole in the living room, we said there is a hole in the attic which is causing the tiles in our living room to come undone. And second of all if this "business man" had responded to our phone calls or even came out to our house to see the problem we would not be dealing with this. Not once did he come out to our house to at least take a look. No one has been in the attic except for when the AC was installed. We are not trying to get anything for free we just want him to fix the mistake someone from his crew made and failed to tell us about 7 years ago in 2006. We are just asking for the right thing to be done.
Business' Final Response
Mr. [redacted] reiterates that the problem with the sheet rock tiles was not caused by his company. He does not feel like it is his problem, and he doesn't want to fix it.
