Customer called to have us bid a replacement patio door in her home because her original patio door leaked waterWe installed a custom size series patio doorHomeowner called within a few months (6/14)(after heavy rain) and stated the
door was leakingWe went back and made a few adjustments that we thought could help stop the leak but we were never able to get the door to leak by applying water from hoseIn Aug Mrs*** called again to say water was coming in homeWe went out with factory rep and the factory rep examined door and he said the factory would send parts that he thought may cure the problemon Octwe received patio door parts and scheduled service for Oct 14thOn Nov3rdMrs*** again had leakingOn November 18th we went to Mrs*** and even though we did not install any siding, we not only removed the door but also removed all the siding above and around the doorWe found absolutely no House wrap, flashing tape or drip cap on homeWe installed house wrap and home tape on home in patio door areaInstall new vinyl j-channel and asphalt weather tape around our custom bent aluminum trimWe believe that the water was going behind the siding because of no weather barrierThat maybe the reason the original door of the home was leaking alsoWe certainly feel Mrs*** frustration but must install to manufacturers installation instructions and manufacturers service responseWe feel confident that going above and beyond the scope of work that we we hired to perform will remedy the situation
