[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I reject the offer due to the fact, the issues of my
complaint was, the doctor did do an examination which he didn’t do, and when I
mention the medication I needed , the doctor refused to write a prescription
for medication I needed. The fact in
your response, you stated I didn’t request the medication or a refill is not
trueThe doctor sat next to the door and ask question about why I
was there and I explained, I had changed insurance which meant I had to change
primary care physician. I explained what
I had been treated for in the past and the diagnosis that I had received previouslyAfter explaining the medicine I used on a daily basis, the
doctor told me what he wasn’t going to do and that was, he wasn’t going to 1)
write a prescription for the medicine I needed and 2) he suggested the referral
of the Neurologist as well as the dermatologist because of a complaint of a
scar that I had.
As I said in my compliant, I didn’t receive the services I
am being billed for. To make my
argument, my insurance company (*** *** *** ***) didn’t pay anything on
this bill at all. Therefore, it is crazy
for this doctor to think, I will pay for an office visit where the doctor
thinks he can tell me what he will or will not do and then expect me to pay him. I don’t think so.Regards,*** ***

To Whom It May Concern,I am writing in response to a complaint submitted by a patient on May 22, 2014 to the Revdex.com. After the patient reviewed and filled out the new patient paperwork, she had several questions and did not feel comfortable signing the...

Medication Policy until her concerns were clarified. brought the patient and her daughter back to help address her concerns. The Sections on the form that she did not agree with were;• Patient requirement to see the doctor every 90 days for pain medicine• Patients cannot get a refill until your current prescription is expired • If this practice is managing a patients acute or chronic pain, it is imperative that we are the only physicians prescribing for their condition
• If it comes to our attention that another physician is treating you for the same condition, a patient can be dismissed from the practice immediately
We do require all patients to sign and understand our forms prior to seeing the doctor so that they comprehend our office policies.
First, l explained that this policy applies to controlled substances, as specified on the form. In order for us to monitor the patient's condition for their acute or chronic pain, it is important that they are seen every 90 days to make sure they are getting the most responsive treatment for their condition. also explained that unless the patient is mailing the prescription to a mail order pharmacy we will not authorize early refills on controlled medication. We will approve a prescription a few days prior to the patient running out of their medication to allow enough time for a patient to have their medication filled at a local pharmacy. It is also very important that only one prescriber is treating the condition and that the patient is not seeking rmedications from other physicians. For the patient's protection our office uses the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Professions Prescription Monitoring Program which allows us to request information on previously dispensed medication, if it comes to our attention that they are getting the same medication from a different provider we are allowed to dismiss the patient from the practice immediately. The office understands that there are many case by case situations including if a patient gets seen in an emergency and they're prescribed the same medication. Each situation is evaluated and we hope that these situations are done in good faith and we always try our hardest to work with our patient's. Lastly, the patient was concerned that she would have problems when it came time for her to refill her meds since the dosage and strength are constantly changing. I advised the patient to discuss this issue with the doctor as he would be the best person to advise her on how to take her medications.
The doctor reviewed the patient's past medical history, took the vital signs, and discussed the reason for her visit. During the examination, the patient stated that she has been under the care of a specialist for several years who was also managing her medications. She implied that she needed a referral to continue seeing him for her chronic condition. Dr. Hunt wrote the order as request along with another that was recommended for a different issue that was discussed during the visit.
We understand that one of patient complaints was that the physician did not write her prescriptions but a request for refills was not requested during the visit. Our doctors want our patient to be satisfied with the care they receive. Services were rendered to the patient and the appropriate code was billed for her visit therefore, in an effort to try to resolve this situation we would be willing to deduct 50% of the outstanding balance, but only if the patient contacts the office and agrees to pay the remaining account balance.
Thank you for the opportunity to respond and we look forward to a mutually agreeable conclusion.Sincerely yours,Maryen T

To Whom it May Concern;Thank you for the opportunity to further answer our patient's response to her initial complaint. Our practice works diligently to resolve any concerns or complaints in a spirit of fairness and respect to all concerned. However, this patients' cryptic, nor-illustrative reply leaves very little room or hope for any further negotiation. A decision, therefore, has been made to write off the remaining balance owed on this account. Regrettably, this action has been taken not out of a sense of any mutual efforts but rather because this is no further financial advantage to do otherwise.
Again, thank you for your good intentions to bring this matter to a mutually satisfactory was our hope, too, that this could have occurred.Sincerely yours,Maryen TPractice Manager
