Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. I am not a business . I did however assist my friend in getting their house shingled. The company MC Cambridge Builders Ltd. is a company that I have not...

been associated with for more than 5 years. [redacted]. In fact 1 lot. It has not done any business in more than 5 years. And I am not a part of that company.
I was asked look at my friends house regarding removing shingles and replacing shingles on a house roof and a garage . The estimate was [redacted] dollars for the house and [redacted] for the garage. I told my friends that the cost of materials would total [redacted] dollars plus HST. For a total of [redacted]. The labour and disposal costs would be would be another [redacted] dollars. including HST. This was provided by a subcontractor and he was given of his payment [redacted] including the HST.
The house was completed promptly. The garage was being repaired by the homeowner and that roof would be done later, but not too much later.
The subcontractor was busy and I ended up removing all the shingles from the garage. Repairing the rotten roof ( at no cost) and shingling 1 of the 2 sides. I had 6 bundles of shingles remaining to finish the job. The side of the garage remaining was les than 200 sq ft. I supplied all shingles except 2 bundles which the homeowner purchased
There certainly was no talk about " what if the materials cost less or more, would there be an adjustment in the estimate" as I am sure the homeowner would not pay more money if the material had cost more than estimated . ( as they did) . My total costs for materials labour and labour exceeded the the estimate as well as the amount paid.
I paid for 2 other companies to go to the complainants house and give me a written estimate to do the same work as I quoted, so I could compare my quoted cost to someone other than me that does roofing as vocation.
In short detailed account of the homeowner of what took palace and the accounting is subjectively inaccurate.

All of what has been said is untrue. He approached us about the job after seeing my husband in a parking lot ( [redacted] , [redacted] ) and my husband told him we had to get our roof done. He jumped right at the chance In fact was in a rush because of special prices he had gotten on the shingles, I told him we were not planning to do the job until [redacted]. He said oh no lets do it now, [redacted] I can give you the deal on the materials.( That was some deal )None of the figures he mentions are correct and I have the paper he wrote everything down on and signed by him. $ [redacted].** for materials for house and garage including tax. I have the receipt from [redacted] on the actual cost he paid for materials $ [redacted].**. On the labor he wrote $ [redacted].** no tax ( I have the paper he wrote it on ) Then he wrote $ [redacted].** to start and $ [redacted].** at the finish.It took from [redacted]th to [redacted]st to finish most of the house roof, and the roof is still not finished. That is not my definition of prompt. I had to telephone that man almost every day to get him here, and as I stated before he had every reason in the book why he couldn't be here, [redacted]. He never mentioned any reasons for not supplying and installing the three attic vents? The only reason that he came back to finish what he could was because he wanted another $ [redacted].**. His "subcontractor" as he calls him never came back to finish the job, was that because he never paid them ? Also where were these subcontractors when the material were being unloaded from the [redacted] truck and my husband helped him. ( witness, truck driver and myself ) My husband supplied the materials and repair the roof damage, at no time was he ever asked to supply or repair the garage roof we had said right from the start that my husband was going to replace the rotten boards and install new siding on the garage. We have witnesses for this.My husband helped him to remove the shingles from the garage and again we have witnesses. He never supplied all the materials and I have the receipts to show we had to buy materials to finish the garage roof. There were no subcontractors, it was done on the side, I have the paper where he wrote no tax on the labor and I have the guy's name & telephone number [redacted].There were never two companies here giving estimates. This gentlemen is a liar and I do have written proof and witnesses. If he thought he was so honest with us why did he telephone on the evening of Thursday, [redacted]. **th, [redacted] at 7:20 p.m. and say he was sorry and would be here on the weekend to sort things out, he said " I promise " and I'll call first. Like always he never showed then denied saying he told me that. I noticed he never commented on using our tools and supplies such as tarps, staples gun & staples, or removal of the debris and there being no $ [redacted].** bin on site. It is very hard to described how this man has made us feel. [redacted]

Just a note I believe I did say he never used his company name. Does he have a reason for not giving us our warranty?
