I reject Mr *** ***s offer. He indeed offered me $to take the RV for salvageable parts specifically. We talked about the new solar panel and the new set of tires it had and other salvageable parts he could get for it. Then he offered me $1000, told me to send him the title when I got back to Colorado and he would send the check in the mail. Normally I wouldn't have done business in this manner but really felt my hands were tied considering I was in Wisconsin and the title was in Colorado. Mr ***s needs to honor his offer whether his poor business practices yielded a contract or not. Sometimes your word is the best thing you can offer someone when you are presenting yourself as a reputable business man. Mr *** ***s is behaving in an unethical manner.Thank you*** E ***

Review: In Sept of 2014 my mother passed away and many people took care of her for me while she was aging and preparing to pass. I’d never met some of those people who did such wonderful things on my mom’s behalf. I was not able to attend to her needs or her funeral myself so I vowed when I could afford to, I would go back to my home town to visit my mothers grave and to show gratitude to those who helped when I could not. It was dubbed the “Gratitude Journey”.

With a used RV I finally set out in June for the Gratitude Journey. Ten miles from our first Wisconsin visit, the RV engine blew. It ultimately came to rest at Kountry [redacted]s RV. Some friends of mine who did recent business with Mr [redacted] called him on our behalf to explain our situation. We were told that [redacted] would purchase the RV for parts so we had it towed from the location it broke down in Sheboygan, to Kountry [redacted]s of Peshtigo, Wisconsin.

[redacted] told me he’d pay me $1000 for the RV but that I would need to sign and send him the title when I got back to Colorado before he would send a check. He said he’d done such a business deal in the past and the “other people” never sent the title and he was stuck with their RV. So, even though I know better than to do business like this, I felt my hands were tied. There I sat over a thousand miles from home with a broke RV, no money to replace the engine myself and not knowing of any other options. There had been a new solar panel installed and brand new tires all around on the RV before we left Colorado.

On my return to Colorado, I signed and sent Mr [redacted] the title to my RV. I waited three weeks before I finally called him to see where the check was. He told me he wasn’t going to pay me $1000 for the RV, he said he would only pay me $500. I was not in agreement with this, but again, felt my hands were tied. [redacted] said he’d put the check in the mail within seven business days. After that time, when the check had not arrived yet, my partner [redacted] Carr who is co-owner of the RV with me, called Mr [redacted] to see what was going on and [redacted] told [redacted] that he wasn’t going to pay anything for the RV. Said there was no salvageable parts on it. It was then that I sought legal council to see what my options were and was told I had no options since [redacted] held the title and it was in his possession. Unfortunately, do to our overwhelming situation, we forgot to ask for any kind of written agreement between us and [redacted] did not offer to give us one. I thought most good business practices included that.

And so it is. I suppose one could say they hope I live and learn from this mistake and I say that I hope people like [redacted]s can be dealt with in a responsible way so he doesn’t do this to anyone else.

Most Sincerely,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like for [redacted] of Kountry [redacted]s RV to pay us what he originally said he would pay for the RV and that is $1000.

Response:

Business states he never stated he would give consumer $1000 for the RV. It is not worth that much. He did attempt to contact consumer to see if she wanted to salvage it for parts. The RV is still on his property, and he still has the title. He'd prefer not to be responsible for it, she can come pick it up, or decide to salvage it.
