Krafftkare Automotive, Inc. Reviews (3)

To Whom It May Concern,I'm responding to Revdex.com case #[redacted] from [redacted] R [redacted]-[redacted].As I stated in my first reply, I didn't agree with the [redacted] dealer diagnosis that the engine malfunction was due to a faulty repair by Krafftkare Automotive, Inc.  Also, the [redacted] Insurance adjuster did not come to the same findings as [redacted] except for the fact that something caused the timing to jump damaging the engine.  Therefore, [redacted] has accepted liability for the claim, but the report states it's inconclusive as to why the drive belt interfered with the timing belt causing the engine malfunction. As for how long this has taken, the matter was turned over to our insurance broker who filed the claim with [redacted] Insurance on 11/14/17.As I stated before, [redacted] Insurance has been working with [redacted] to settle this matter.  Also as stated in my previous reply, [redacted] has made on offer to [redacted] for the fair market value of the vehicle. Please let me know if you need anything further.  Thank you.

To Whom It May Concern, I am responding to Revdex.com Case #[redacted] from [redacted] R [redacted]’ 2007 [redacted] TL was towed to my shop (Krafftkare Automotive, Inc) on 3/8/17 with 130,665 miles on the odometer.  The vehicle had died out while [redacted] was driving and failed to stay running...

with a jump.  We tested the alternator and battery and found the alternator was not charging, therefore we replaced the alternator and serpentine belt at that time.  [redacted] called for a phone estimate for a throttle body replacement on 6/6/17 that was diagnosed by another person or shop.  We did not service the vehicle at that time. The vehicle was brought in on 10/20/17 with 138,733 miles on the odometer with the complaint of the check engine light being on.  The vehicle had a P2138 code and after testing, we found the accelerator pedal position sensor to be bad.  We replaced the sensor at that time. The vehicle was towed to our shop on 10/24/17 with 138,853 miles on the odometer.  [redacted] stated the vehicle died while driving and wouldn’t start.  When testing for the no start problem, we found the vehicle had fuel pressure and spark.  The next step in testing was to perform a compression test on the front three cylinders and we found the #5 cylinder to have zero compression and the other two cylinders had lower than normal compression.  At this time, we recommended replacing the motor.  [redacted] declined that repair and the vehicle was towed out of my shop. On 11/6/17, [redacted] came to my shop, stated that she had the vehicle towed to an [redacted] dealer for further inspection.  The [redacted] dealer said that we installed the belt incorrectly causing the timing belt to jump which caused internal engine damage.  At this time, I called and spoke to the dealer and was sent pictures of what they had found.  I questioned the dealer as to how the vehicle could have been fine for 7 months and 8,188 miles if the belt had been installed improperly?  I also consulted with an engine rebuilder/specialist who also questioned the same.  I asked the dealer if they could check to make sure there wasn’t another issue with the belt pulleys.  The technician at the dealer stated he didn’t find anything else wrong.  On 11/10/17, I emailed [redacted] and offered to refund her the $461.51 for the alternator and belt replacement as I didn’t agree with the [redacted] dealership diagnosis.  [redacted] declined that offer on 11/13/17.  At that time, I turned the matter over to my insurance company, [redacted].  They sent out an adjuster to the [redacted] dealer to examine the vehicle and have been working with the client to resolve the issue.  [redacted] made an offer to [redacted] for the fair market value of the vehicle.  Please let me know if you need anything further.  Thank you.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Until this issues is settled with the Insurance company I am not accepting Krafftkare's response as per their response the incident happened in October and the insurance was not notified until mid-November. The business has ignored emails and phone calls from me, so until everything is settled with the insurance company then I will not accept the businesses response as they are once again trying to shift the blame. The drive belt was replaced by Krafftkare and should have lasted 100,000 miles or more, ours only lasted over 7,000 miles so we can see there was an error in the replacement from that small fact in addition to the others one. As stated once this is handled with the insurance company then the businesses response will be satisfactory.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
