Kraus Bros has been working with this homeowner to come to a satisfactory resolution to there complaint The construction project was over budget by several thousand dollars, Kraus Bros had agreed to cover these overage, there was a misunderstanding with the homeowner and we were not requiring
them to cover the overage.On 2/16/a satisfactory agreement was reached and signed between Kraus Bros and the homeowner; agreement states the work is scheduled to be completed and a monetary compensation has been provided to this homeowner for any inconvenience the construction project has caused them Homeowners are satisfied with the settlement agreement that was agreed upon

I hired John (Kraus Bros MN lic[redacted]) for building my deck, he completed the work as promised, and absolutely delighted with the work done at my home.

Worst contractor I have ever dealt with. Had to go to court to settle overcharges. Remove lien he placed on my house. He is the most dishonest person I have ever met. He took over 7 months to complete a project that should have taken less than half that amount of time. Subs said they weren't paid. He took money and would not show up for weeks. Didn't do what was in the contract! Don't pay 25% at a time!! he will get 75% of the money and you will be left with framed walls and nothing else ($30,000). My advice is to stay away and don't believe his price! Changed name during the delays in the project from Cornerstone to Krause Bros without even telling me. There are multiple complaints under old business name. During court proceedings he claims he changed the name for personal reasons, not to hide from his past. Truth is he comes across like a nice guy, but is a scam artist. He might be able to build an inexpensive deck, but do not trust him with a large project because he doesn't have funds to pay for things (credit). Something simple as a shower door took over 2 months to get installed. He claims that the door was broken twice during shipping. I checked with Home Depot and they said the door was never ordered like he claims.

John and his crew were very accommodating through the entire process. From the permit getting hung up at the city office, to the fact we kept making changes to the design of our deck. They handled the inspections office so I didn't have to. We got a late start in the fall, and even when the weather was miserable John and his team pushed through and didn't skimp on the quality. In fact, his extra attention to detail really made the finished product look better than we pictured it. We can't wait to enjoy it this Spring! I'd highly recommend them for anyone's project.
