Krav Maga Houston - West Campus Reviews (%countItem)

Below is the original complaint I filed yesterday against Krav Mage Houston. Since the business part Emphasized that I am a member of Krav Mage Houston West. The location is not accurate I have to file this one with their west campus address. although their contract/billing practices are operated by same person. "I want to cancel Krav Mega membership for my children due to the unexpected high student to coach in their class. Last November I had my children tried their class. It was around 20 students in the room with 1 coach. I asked the manager why are so many students in the room. He said it usually less. Now usually there are nearly 30 students in 300 square feet room with 1 coach. We decide to end membership. Manager said he could not decide. So I talked with the owner xxxxx. He insisted we have to pay the remaining which is 9 months.or he will send the debt to a collector. I told him high students to coach rate concerned me and I was responses with a lie. He said there is no student to coach rate in the contact."

To Whom It May Concern:

The Krav Maga Houston kids program is run by a professional staff of trained and certified instructors. We limit the capacity in our training rooms based upon over 20 years of experience and within the bounds of what has worked safely for this program for decades. There are, in fact, several powerful reasons to have larger class sizes as part of the Krav Maga training process.

On a factual basis, the kids are training in a room that is substantially larger then 300 square feet. Further, we do not allow parents or members to drive our programming or curriculum, nor do we make promises about the size of classes being run at any one time. As you can imagine, class size will vary based on a litany of variables.

The father of the children in dispute was over-heard saying he wanted to put his kids in swimming lessons (and perhaps had a conflict with the Krav Maga membership). We believe this complaint, especially the timing, suggest that the "class size" issue is a red herring. Regardless, we initially offered to have the lead instructor call the parents to explain our programming philosophy - but that was rejected. As a second measure, we offered the family a settlement to terminate the remaining nine months of the agreed upon and signed contact. They also refused our second effort. The families rejection of our willingness to discuss and explain our policies/programming and our further steps to resolve this dispute with a settlement offer illustrate the motivation behind this complaint.

The facts are: (1) We have an agreed upon contract, (2) We tried to address the class size concern with a dedicated phone call from our lead instructor to educate the family - that was refused, and (3) We offered a settlement to terminate the remaining nine months of the agreement- also refused. We have been reasonable, while the family has been entirely unreasonable this process. It has not been, nor will ever be our policy to make and keep commitments about our teaching and programming, while allowing others to leverage *** or other sources to walk away from their commitments to our program without any consideration. That would simply be patently unfair.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

Regards,

We decide to keep this compliant open so more customer/parents will see it.

Their response was not base on Facts.

1. Even Krav Mage Houston run by professional and certified instructors. They can decide the class size. Why just tell us the truth about their professional judgement, instead, the manager give us a number around 20 which is 50% lower than currently number.

2.My daughter started learn swimming since 3.5 year old, now she is 7, our whole family have a gym membership we swim regularly. We have not decide yet, but couldn't we have other arrangement after they end Krav Mage?

3.We did not talk with them since I filed complaint. They may call during work time but there are not discussion, voice message or email whatsoever.

4. They offered half of 9 month payment for each child as settlement before I file complaint. I refused. and we will never accept. We are ready to fight to the end.

We are getting ready to seek legal, so we take out our copy which is a carbon paper of original contract to check. It turned out that we did not check 12 months. We did not checked any duration because we did not notice it nor the manager mentioned the duration. The amazing thing is in their copy, the 12 months has been checked. They did checked it afterwards. I uploaded both copy as a public record. Our personal information has been covered.

We don't make deal or settlement with liars. It is a shame and wrong decision we made that sending our kids to learn self defense from them.
