Revdex.com:
I am going to state this for the last timeI was never told that the inch saw brokeIn that case , why didn't MrKravitz say that he needed to postpone the job until he had the proper toolsI now have a hole in my house bigger than it needed to be and more wood was removed than was necessary. As I stated in a previous communication, I do realize he had to use materials and I no longer request a full refundI'll be satisfied with $to $That would help to cover the cost of a handyman to fill that gap.I will abide by the decision the Revdex.com makes.Best regards,

January 3, 2016 Dear [redacted],My name is [redacted] and I am writing this letter to you in response to the letter I received on 12/30/2105. I called [redacted] on 12/07/2015 about coming over to vent the dryer. Later that day, I went over there and looked at the job. I looked at it, went...

over it with [redacted] in detail and he told me to start the job. I ran for material and started the job. Before, during and after the job was completed I also consulted with [redacted], he at no time stated he was concerned, displeased, or had any questions. His response was “that’s fine” or “okay”. I finished the job and was paid $150.00.I am a licensed contractor. In the 24 years I have been in business and the company in business over 40 years, I have never run into this situation. I have vented many dryers in hundreds of homes using metallic vent hose for venting (including my own home). Although it is not my expertise, I have installed them before and they have been inspected and passed using the metallic vent hose. Before I cut out the hole for the vent, I drilled a pilot hole. The pilot hole was between the siding pan which sometimes happens. The pilot hole was determined by the location of the plate of the house. (The wood that is anchored to the foundation). I cannot determine the exact spot upon exit. I showed [redacted] the pilot hole and he said “go ahead” because he was getting it sided in the future. That the contractor doing the siding could center the vent.As far as the 5 inch hole, I started with a 4 inch whole saw and it broke. I went to [redacted] and let him know that the saw broke and I could use a 5 inch whole saw. I assured him it would be covered by the vent cap. He said “okay”. Again, he preceded to tell me he was having the siding redone soon. I continued to finish. He complained in his letter to you about J-Channel. (Which he never mentioned once to me). I have never seen one installed like that.As far as the metallic vent, that I have used many times over the years, I am not aware of a fire hazard. It is safe to say that 90% of vents are installed with metallic vent hose. (Again, I have it in my own home). If it is a fire hazard, I have not been aware of any change. However, I did tell [redacted] his washer outlet and a few other outlets were not GFCI protected. He asked why and I explained that he needed them in his basement to eliminate electrical shock. He declined, he said he wasn’t interested. That is far more important than installing a dryer vent hose.A few weeks later, He called, I answered his call and he told me he wanted a metal pipe vent instead. I clearly explained to [redacted] that I do not work with metal pipe vent. I don’t use it and/or install it. He said he read the directions on the back of his dryer and he wanted it changed. I explained to him again that I do not and have not installed metal pipe vent, but that I can refer him to another contractor. He began to yell and scream. He was rude and offensive. I will not respond to phone calls like that. If [redacted] would have stated at the time of the estimate that he wanted metal pipe vent, I would have recommended him to another contractor. He never mentioned that. He was aware that the metallic vent hose was being used. He said it was “okay”.I take my job very seriously. I do every customers electrical work as if I was working on my own home. I take pride in what I do and accomplished as a Licensed Electrician. I value my business and my customers. Our business has never been in front of the Revdex.com in forty years of business. The job was $150.00. Keep in mind I have material and labor in this simple job. I will honor whatever you recommend. I would like to rectify this matter. Respectfully, Greg K[redacted]
