Krest Construction Reviews (%countItem)

was hired in July of 2018 to do some repair work in my main house and guest house. He asked for $8000 up front to purchase materials. He only purchased a 5 gallon bucket of paint, a p-trap and a six panel door which was the wrong size. He gave himself a deadline to be done with all home improvements by Friday August 3rd as I was having surgery and about to return to school as a teacher. He was operating without a license and insurance and failed to put my money into a shared contractor account. He only put in one full day and a few random hours. He didn't even finish painting my son's room and left a mess behind. I had to do all the tear out and carry off. He also showed up driving a rental truck without his court ordered breathalyzer. He was also drunk, high on prescription drugs or outside smoking cigarettes rather than doing his job. I gave him two options to settle this out of court. He refused both offers: To return $7500 of my money or to purchase all materials for both houses. He also shared nude photos of us with his attorney and continued to ask for sexual favors after we decided to be strictly professional in this endeavor.

Desired Outcome

Refund I demand a full refund of my money ($8,000) or I will pursue criminal charges.

Original Message

In response to the complaint lodged against me by Ms. ***:

I met Ms. on a dating website and we began seeing one another. On several occasions she came to my home and stayed overnight. We discussed the recent damage to her home and insurance proceeds as she knew I was a contractor. I went to look at her property and the damage and had a fellow roofing contractor also look at her roof for repair. Ms. asked me to make repairs to several items on her home, none of which were items listed in the insurance summary provided for the funds paid. There was a $17,000 check paid and that is the price we discussed for all of the work she asked me to do. She gave me a check for $8,000 and noted it was for half of the work to be done. I began working on the items we discussed and while working Ms. would continually harass me for sexual favors and was constantly changing what we had originally discussed to be done. While working at her home, I asked if she could at least clean the area where I would be working as the home itself was filthy and smelt of cat ***. On two different occasions she threatened me if I didn't come to her home to work when she demanded, her son would hurt me. I asked if I would be safe working with him there as he has medical issues and she advised me that he becomes violent. This was clear by the holes in his bedroom walls from outbursts of anger. I continued working on the items we discussed as well as other items she would ask me to do while there. I spent several days at the *** residence and was told not to return when I would not do as she wanted. I do not currently have legal representation. The original agreement was for $17,000 and she paid $8000 to begin work. From the onset there were problems as she would not allow me to work without harassing me sexually. What she is now wanting to pay is less than half of what was originally agreed upon.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
In response to Mr. Ellis' allegations, I wish to correct the blatant lies and discrepancies between his version of the truth and what actually occurred at my home. Mr. Ellis was well aware of the condition of my home when he persuaded me to fire my contractor, Aaron *** because he was in dire need of money. We reviewed the page of home improvements and agreed upon the work to be completed no later than Friday, August 3, 2018. We did a walk through of my home and guest house. He asked me to clean the two litter boxes I had in my house. I purchased two new litter boxes and new litter to help Mr. Ellis with his supposed allergies. I gave him a check for $8,000 to purchase all materials for both homes. I personally cleaned out my son's room and removed the carpet and pad. He complained the next day with a text saying he couldn't get in my house when this was actually part of the contractor's job. Although we dated once after meeting on Tinder, we agreed to keep it professional during his time as my hired help. Despite my desire to be professional, he wore shorts without any underwear and would grab his genitals and expose himself to me daily, even in the presence of my children. During the roofer's initial walk through at my property, Mr. Ellis forced me to perform oral sex on him in my guest house. He took pictures of me performing this sex act on me without my consent or knowledge. On three other occasions, he demanded I perform oral sex on him and I did so under duress so he would continue to work for me. On Sunday, July 22, 2018, I was in the shower downstairs getting ready for a date with my boyfriend, when Mr. Ellis came in my bathroom and said, "I guess a *** now is out of the question?" This was witnessed by my daughter, Brianna, who was in my master bedroom at the time. At the same time, he told me that he had showed nudes of us to his attorney because "she wanted to see what kind of relationship we had." My daughter also overheard this conversation. My response was that this was distribution of *** and he did not have my consent to show my pictures to anyone at any time. Regarding the allegation that I would threaten Mr. Ellis with my son hurting him if he didn't work when I demanded, my son has OCD and would never harm anyone, only himself. On July 30, 2018, only days away from Mr. Ellis' deadline to be completed with all work, I texted him "I can't live like this. Your options are: return $7,000 to me or complete the house portion by this Friday for the $8,000" because my son was having a mental breakdown due to the mess he had created in my son's bedroom for over a month. He responded that he has to make sure "the area is safe and there is no safety issues to be concerned about." He showed up three hours later and stayed for three hours. The holes in my son's room were caused by my son trying to hurt himself. Jake has never once tried to hurt me, his sister or anyone else for that matter. I have repeated asked for Mr. Ellis to have his attorney contact my representative so that we could resolve this matter out of court, but he refused to comply. In his response he states that he does not even have an attorney. As I stated in my letter to the attorney general, Mr. Ellis is on probation for repeated DWI's. He is under court order to have a portable breathalyzer on his truck at all times, yet he showed up for weeks with a rental truck with no such device. He was also frequently drunk on vodka or high on prescription pills while working at my residence. I once tried to take a sip from his Yeti that was in his truck but he angrily snatched it away and yelled at me. Mr. Ellis also broke the law by operating as a contractor without a license, without insurance, and failed to put my $8,000 in a shared contractor's account. I have attached pictures, text messages and written statements to verify every allegation in this letter.
