Review: I requested this service not be done several times threw out the day when I called to check on the car.

I [redacted] gave my new address in September 2009 when I came in to bring my car to have the Tension Arm and Idler belt replaced. I left my Mercedes Warranty papers as they requested me to when having my hydraulic motor mounts done and you were going to check into what else may be covered on the warranty. When I picked up my car they forgot to give me my warranty papers. I told the lady to go ahead and send them to my new address. After not receiving them I called and asked what address they were sent to? I was told the old address on Ford I explained that I had given her my new address. I was told if they were sent back to her she would forward them to me. I never received them. Before I had my car worked on due to the idler arm - I asked for a quote on a few things that I was having problems with. I received it: Tension arm & Idler & belt ($450.00) Blower Fan Regulator Failing ($340.00) Window Motor 1st ($400.00) than ($585.00.) Switch -signal for the (top) ($225.00) which my top was doing the same thing as always however seemed not to be doing it when I brought it into you. (My car top was fixed in XX-XXXX same symptoms -light blinking fast, dinging noise, would start to come off and then stop. I had explained from the beginning that the Manuel book said it meant something was wrong with the switch that controlled the top and the trunk. However they said that a wire had to be soldered.) And now it's the switch. Mind you with in that year I brought it in several times however you show no record.

When I brought my car in to have the Tension Arm and Idler belt replaced, I told [redacted] I was going to wait on having the Window motor fixed because I couldn't afford it at this time since my warranty would not cover it. The window still worked so I wasn't worried too much about it. (I also had received a cheaper quote from someone else to do it.)

I called several times to pick up my car and was told it wasn't ready. I called around 4:00-4:30pm and [redacted] told me that they were finishing putting my window back together. I (paused) what," I specifically told you that I didn't want the window done at this time." He said, "You did, oh I forgot I better go and stop them before they finish up than." So I figured that was taken care of. Than when I got there you were closing up and I was told that they went ahead and fixed my window anyways. I said I told you I didn't want it done and that I couldn't afford it at this time. (I didn't want to say that I found a cheaper.) quote.) It was also explained to me that my driver window TINT was torn at the time they were doing my window. I was told that the next time I bring my car in it would be fixed for me. I brought my car in a few times after that and nothing was ever said about it to this day. Once I mentioned about the window, it was like a surprise to him.

Thank you,

Desired Settlement: I feel since they have been continuously sending me letters to pay them for a service I specifically told [redacted] not to fix since 2009-2010. That I might as well charge them for the time it has taken to file a complaint. By Requesting for the Driver Window of my Merceds Benz CLK 430 which they scratched my tint and window leaving my tint torn and never fixing it, apparently forgot about it. Should be around 600.00 if professionally fixed.

Mind you this was brought to my attention by [redacted] before pulling car out of his shop, when I went to pick up my car. And he told me they would fix it next time I come in. I had been in several times after that do to my convertible top. I do have some documentation if needed besides this letter.

Business

Response:

Initial Business Response

This was a problem between the customer and her extended warranty company. She assured us that the extended warranty would cover the cost of the repairs or she would pay them herself. The extended coverage would not cover the repairs and she said she would make payments. Our problem was not making her pay the bill when the car was picked up. The only work done on this vehicle was what the customer agreed upon.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

PER MY 1ST LETTER: [redacted] IS LYING: I did pay for what I had requested to be taken care of. There was no problem with my extended warranty. Customer took my warranty papers and followed up with me on what was covered per my breakdown in the prior letter. I did PAY for what I approved for that the insurance did not cover in FULL before taking my car from the shop. (I told him not to fix my WINDOW MOTOR several times that day). He told me the last time I called that they were finishing up putting my window together. I specifically told him again I didn't want the window done. He said he forgot and was going to stop them. However when I got there he said they fixed my window anyways. [redacted] was the one that said I could make payment's. I didn't feel that this was right.( I could of gotten this window fixed for a lot cheaper than what he was wanted to charge me.------ I FEEL THAT I WAS TRICKED INTO THIS AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE.---------DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE DAMAGE THAT WAS DONE TO MY DRIVERS DOOR. I HAD LOW E GLASS TINT THAT THEY DAMAGE AND SCRATCHED MY WINDOW WHILE FIXING THE WINDOW I TOLD THEM NOT TO FIX. THIS WAS NEVER FIXED OR THEY NEVER SENT ME A CHECK TO HAVE THE TINT AND WINDOW FIXED.

Please see that this is not done to someone else. A single woman with a budget!

Final Business Response

Unfortunately with the correspondence that has occurred in the past regarding this situation, [redacted] does not see a possible resolution to the complaint.

[redacted] is not going to pursue legal action nor attempt any further contact pertaining to this matter.

At this point, we would like to consider this matter closed.
