Hey [redacted] I am forwarding the response I sent on May 4th for the [redacted] complaint

In response to the letter ID of [redacted] on 09/20/I was called out by Mrsto inspect and repair a leak she was havingI found & repaired the leak at no cost to herAnd told her if it didn't stop to call ME backOn 10/16/I was called out for another inspection bidI found where a skill saw was sat on the valley and cut into the first layer of shingles (no cause for a leak) at the same time I found where at the same time the valley was nickedThat is when [redacted] called down to the owner and told him what I had found and not to worry I could repair it (not replace it)The owner wanted to keep the cost down at that time I told him not to worry it wouldn't take much at allThen he told me he had another Leak on the frontIt was not where he told me, it was on his dormer windowI told him with weather coming I could caulk the trimAt that time I told him the Price was $to "repair it" and give him a limited warranty on my workhe let my written bid fly away in the wind twiceI told him if it flew away one more time it would mean I wasn't mint to do his jobhe said he would have to call me when he gets the moneyOn 11/30/Mrscalled and said she had a bid on a card and was that price still goodI told her yes it was still goodShe wanted to know if I could send "one" of my men that weekendI told her my men were working very hard during the week, that is when she said she would pay half cash and half checkI asked, was anyone wanting to go and my grandson said he wouldSo I returned her call to let her know he would come after the dew dried up about 10:SundayShe was soooooo happyI was working out of town & when I returned I asked where the check was and he told me her husband paid all cashA few days later I received a call and it was Mrasking for most of the money to be returnedI told him I was out of gas for trips out to his house my time and one of my men's time on the first trip gas, wear and tear on the truck.Second trip gas, wear and tear on truck, two tubes of [redacted] Expensive Caulking one man's time along with a Limited warranty.So One free job for Mrs.Repairs twice.Truck and gas twice.One man came out on his day off.I get responses how fast my men get there job done & they do very good job.Date : 09/20/2017Title: Owner

I am rejecting this response because: I am not aware of the 09/20/repair because it did not happen [redacted] did come out in or and caulked a hole in the roof The same hole it turns out that continued to leak[redacted] did come out to 10/16/to perform his advertised “free estimate”[redacted] said that he would repair the cut shingles and gutter I understood this to mean replace the cut shingles and fix valley This the same repair he had done previously that did not work and he did not charge me for the work performed several years earlier.I then showed him the dormer window which was leaking so severely that the dry wall in the house under the window has pealed away and left dark spots on the ceiling He said he would have to reseat the window I thought that meant construction work to fix the problem [redacted] then made the “bid” of (enclosed [redacted] ) He said that he was very busy then and would contact us when he could come out for the job.11/30/ My wife contacted [redacted] to get a status on the job He again mentioned that his staff was very busy, but he could send a crew out on Sunday if we would pay him in cash We were glad that he would begin work on Sunday and did agree to pay cash.Aside from the advertised “free estimate” the worker who was his grandson spent minutes on site and used two tubes of caulking I paid the worker the in cash because that what [redacted] had told him to collect I paid the grandson because my problem was with [redacted] and what work I expected to be performed I told the grandson I was not happy with the type of work that was done (minutes with a caulk gun)I tried multiple times to call [redacted] and left him massages to return my call I finally resorted to call him from a different phone number to get ahold of him.I told him I was not satisfied that the work performed matched the description of work he told me I suggested that he charge me for time and materials I would pay what was fair to both of us for the actual work performed He refused any discussion All of Richards advertising states low prices and free estimates I believe minutes of time and tubes of caulk for is not a low price.It should be noted that it has not rained since the work has been performed I do not know if the roof still leaks
