I was hired to paint and interior of a living room and dining room and do custom plaster work to crown molding I was hired in April 2015 . I...

was hired and given a deposit after returning to the house and helping picking out colors and assessing the start date with the customer a week goes by and the customer cancels the job for April and tells me to keep the deposit and we will reschedule when he's ready to do the inside. Fast forward to September [redacted] calls me and wants to start the project asap I tell him that I'm very busy and he tells me after getting frustrated because he cannot get in touch with me that he wants his deposit returned I told him I would try to get him on the schedule but he firmly said he wanted for his deposit returned so I returned his deposit. The business has responded.  Please see below:The job was completed in a timely manner for all the customers specifications.  He wanted to decide his own labor rate for myself and my carpenter which is not his decision.  We did everthing that he asked and the Job came out increidible....

We did all the custom carpentry for under the labor rate I normally charge. I will contact the customer and supply any reciepts that he Is missing . Thanks Keith owner KTF painting

I asked the business through texting and an e-mail to please mail or place in my mailbox the receipts for materials and time - He agreed in the e-mail, but hasn't provided the receipts.  This has been the same response the business has been giving us since when they were in the middle of doing the job.

Hello . The customer will receive all receipts for material that was used on his house so he can go over and pay me for the materials that where used. I have been away , so I am sorry for the delay . Jeffery will receive all material receipts used on his house that is owed to KTF Painting by Sept ** so we can move forward.  Everything the customer asked to have done at his house was completed  I am owed what I spent on materials . There should me no issue after he receives this material . Thanks Keith

Review: The proprietor of this business -- Keith F[redacted] -- took $750 from me in January 2015 to perform some work at my home painting a large room. This check was cashed but before work could start, the project needed to be delayed on my end (the homeowner's end) for a variety of reasons. I spoke with Keith and we agreed that he would not refund my money immediately, but that he would retain it as a credit against the work, when it was eventually performed. In September 2015, when work was finally ready to begin in the home, Keith became unresponsive, refusing to return calls, refusing to refund the $750 down payment, and never performing the work. In essence Keith F[redacted] stole $750 from the homeowner.Desired Settlement: I wish to have my $750 down payment refunded. No work was ever performed for this money and I want it returned to me.
