POTENTIAL CUSTOMER BEWARE! THIS CONTRACTOR SCAMS PEOPLE OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!

Paid Mr. Kuhn (5/15/15) $4,000 deposit on contract repair at our home. He never did work. Won judgement in small claims court on 9/2. Has paid us $0. We had a signed contract with Kuhn Builders, LLC on 5/15/15 and paid Mr. Kuhn a $4,000 deposit which he cashed on 5/15/15. Work was to be completed by 6/15/15. He never showed up to our house with any materials and only called back my husband two times during the contract time to say he would start the job very soon.

\We then initiated contract with him on June 8 via text messages and emails because he would never return out many attempted calls. We have copies of the canceled check, texts, emails, certified letter that we sent him demanding our $4,000 back so we could have the work done by another contractor.

He texted us back on 6/23 (never called) with his request that we did not contract him again and that his attorney would be in contact with us. We did as he asked and filed our small claims case against him to get our money back in July, 2015.

We were awarded a court judgement against him on 9/2/15 and as of today 10/13/15 (The date I originally submitted my completed to Revdex.com) that I do not see on this page he did not pay us any of our $4,000 back. My original Revdex.com Case # is [redacted] filed on 10/13/15.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD ABUT THIS CONTRACTOR SO THAT HE DOES NOT SCAM OTHER PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY.

We heard before 10/13 that he had relocated to Florida, but now I am reading this complaint submitted on 12/24/15 in Connecticut. I am sorry for this 64-year old person and their family. Maybe you can get reimbursement like we did after your small claims case is settled.

He has not paid us any money back as of 1/10/16. Instead we submitted our judgement ruling to the CT Department of Consumer Protection Fund. They in turn reimbursed us our deposit and our court costs in December 2015.

THIS CONTRACTOR SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR HIS REPEATED STEALING OF PEOPLE'S HARD EARNED MONEY.

WE PAID KUHN BUILDERS, LLC (KARL KUHN, JR.) $4,000 DEPOSIT ON 5/15/15. HE CASHED THE CHECK THE SAME DAY. HE SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH US THAT WORK WOULD BE COMPLETED BY SECOND WEEK IN JUNE 2015 AT OUR HOME. HE NEVER SHOWED TO OUR HOUSE. HE CALLED US TWICE BEFORE 6/8 TO SAY THAT HE WOULD BE COMING TO OUR HOUSE TO START BUT NEVER SHOWED. WE WERE UNABLE TO CONTACT HIM BY PHONE EXCEPT BY TEXTS. WE THEN TEXTED, EMAIL, AND SENT CERTIFIED LETTER TO DEMAND OUR MONEY BACK.

WE FIRED HIM AND HE TOLD US ON 6/23/15 NOT TO CONTACT HIM AND THAT HIS ATTORNEY WOULD CONTACT US REGARDING OUR CRAZY MESSAGES DEMANDING OUR DEPOSIT BACK FOR WORK HE NEVER STARTED. WE HAD NO CHOICE AND FILED A SMALL CLAIM CASE AGAINST HIM. WE WON THAT CASE ON 9/2/15. HE WAS SUPPOSE TO START PAYING US BY 9/23/15. $35 A WEEK TOWARDS OUR JUDGEMENT. WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY PAYMENT FROM HIM.

WE HAD NO CHOICE AND SUBMITTED A CLAIM WITH THE CT DEPT OF CONSUMER PROTECTION TO GET REIMBURSEMENT UNDER THE HOME IMPROVEMENT GUARANTY FUND THAT THE STATE HAS FOR CONSUMERS THAT ARE SCAMMED LIKE WE WERE.

BEWARE: ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU ARE PROVIDED A COPY OF THE CONTRACTOR'S VALID CT STATE LICENSE AS WELL AS A COPY OF THEIR CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IN CASE ANYTHING HAPPENS!!

We hired Kuhn Builders LLC from CT to renovate our home. Our issues are with the work after it was completed. Our cathedral ceilings ended up with water stains. Called the contractor who came out to inspect and had some of his workers put stain blocker over the stains and were going to have them come back and repaint the ceiling. We have been trying to reach him for over a month and our last communication was via email that he would be at our house the last week in [redacted] and has not shown up. Now his phone calls go to voicemail with the mailbox full and he does not reply to email or text.Desired SettlementWould like him to come out and repaint the ceiling as promised.
