At the time of inspection of the truck in question the only code showing for the Check Engine Light was for the aftermarket tuner that had been installed on the vehicle prior to it being traded in It is our policy to return vehicles back to stock specifications whenever possible We removed the tuner and drove the vehicle in question to ensure the Check Engine Light did not come back on At the time of inspection the vehicle had miles on the vehicle No other indicators or lights presented themselves and the vehicle performed to standard We did replace the air filter and output shaft seal, as well as an oil and filter changeAt the time of delivery the vehicle had miles on it so we had put more than enough miles on the vehicle for an issue to present itselfAttached is the copy of the RO We would not have put any more money into the vehicle if we had believed the motor had an internal fault and no external faults were presentMr [redacted] did call us and state that he had an issue with the vehicle and had stated that the warranty company would not fix the vehicle because it was within month of purchase so the policy is that it would be a preexisting condition The warranty company also called us to inform us that they were denying the claim due to this policy We called Mr [redacted] and said that we would be happy to look at the vehicle and find out where the failure may have been and send the tow truck to retrieve the vehicle and work for him to see what may have happened Mr [redacted] had informed us that he had already given authorization to the other shop to perform the work and that it was already done and informed us of the bill We explained that for any kind of participation by us it would have to be our technicians looking at it to make sure that no outstanding circumstances led to the engine failure Once he gave authorization to the other repair facility to perform the suggested work he assumed responsibility and that we could not know if the vehicle did indeed have a preexisting condition or if other use led to the truck's major problems with the engineIf provided with a full list of the diagnostics performed by his repair facility as well as a bill we would be happy to look into the matter and see what kind of participation is justified if any

Business states that consumer's old vehicle was traded in and she is now in a new vehicleIssue is resolved

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
In response to KUNES' response:When asking Kunes what the actual code was for the check engine light, I (Ms ***) was told that it was "from the tuner" and that the actual code is unknownIt is not documented anywhere nor does the tech remember what it wasIt also is unknown how many miles were put on after the tuner was taken offThe tuner was taken off of the truck the day I took possession of the truck and only after I requested it be removedKunes was not going to remove the tuner or clear the check engine code prior to selling the truck.I first received a call from Peter at Kunes on August 29th, who told me that the claim was deniedPeter also stated that if I got the truck to them they would "take care of it" and make sure it was coveredPeter was notified the truck was not drivable at the time and he stated they would send a tow truck to get the vehicleI told Peter I would need to call him back as that was the first I had heard that the claim was denied. After speaking with my auto shop, they were also unaware of the claim being deniedI then contacted Warrantech who told me the claim was denied because it was determined to be a "pre-existing" conditionThey stated what broke/malfunctioned could not have done so in the less then miles I had driven the truck since the date of purchaseWarrantech stuck with their decision and told me that the dealer sold me a bad truckAt no time was I told by Warrantech that the claim was denied for any other reason, including a time frameI was told by Kunes multiple other reasons as to why the claim was denied but those claims were never verified with WarrantechAlso, the month time frame listed in Kunes' response to the Revdex.com was the first I heard that reason. At no time did I ever tell Kunes I gave anyone authorization to do work on the truckThe auto shop was speaking with Warrantech and because of the way Warrantech required them to diagnose the problem, work had already been done on the truckI can provide the Revdex.com and/or Kunes with the owner's contact information if they would like to verify this information.Prior to contacting the Revdex.com, Kunes was provided a copy of the work order and was asked what they will do to help rectify this situationKunes pointed fingers at the auto shop for doing work that was not authorized and said they have no role in rectifying this situation.Attached is another copy of the work order for what was fixed on the truck The amount is NOT correct and doesn't reflect what I am asking Kunes to compensate me forThe amount I am asking to be compensated for is still $The auto shop did me a favor and charged me as he would if I had brought the truck in without the warranty company requiring a specific way of diagnosing and fixing, causing more money to be charged for labor

At the time of inspection of the truck in question the only code showing for the Check Engine Light was for the aftermarket tuner that had been installed on the vehicle prior to it being traded in.  It is our policy to return vehicles back to stock specifications whenever possible.  We...

removed the tuner and drove the vehicle in question to ensure the Check Engine Light did not come back on.  At the time of inspection the vehicle had 128644 miles on the vehicle.  No other indicators or lights presented themselves and the vehicle performed to standard.  We did replace the air filter and output shaft seal, as well as an oil and filter change. At the time of delivery the vehicle had 128720 miles on it so we had put more than enough miles on the vehicle for an issue to present itself. Attached is the copy of the RO.  We would not have put any more money into the vehicle if we had believed the motor had an internal fault and no external faults were present. Mr. [redacted] did call us and state that he had an issue with the vehicle and had stated that the warranty company would not fix the vehicle because it was within 1 month of purchase so the policy is that it would be a preexisting condition.  The warranty company also called us to inform us that they were denying the claim due to this policy.  We called Mr. [redacted] and said that we would be happy to look at the vehicle and find out where the failure may have been and send the tow truck to retrieve the vehicle and work for him to see what may have happened.  Mr. [redacted] had informed us that he had already given authorization to the other shop to perform the work and that it was already done and informed us of the bill.  We explained that for any kind of participation by us it would have to be our technicians looking at it to make sure that no outstanding circumstances led to the engine failure.  Once he gave authorization to the other repair facility to perform the suggested work he assumed responsibility and that we could not know if the vehicle did indeed have a preexisting condition or if other use led to the truck's major problems with the engine. If provided with a full list of the diagnostics performed by his repair facility as well as a bill we would be happy to look into the matter and see what kind of participation is justified if any.

Hi [redacted],I had left a message for you a few weeks ago detailing that we had refunded this customer's money on the [redacted] before the end of March.  I can provide a copy of the check if needed.  Please let me know what is needed to have resolution to this case.Thank you,Bill [redacted]...
