I am rejecting this response because: Although the...

owner was gone, he has someone that acts on his behalf and he didn't respond this entire time.  I do not feel comfortable taking phone calls from this company any longer.  I am saddened because the owner is a friendly gentleman but it doesn't speak for his associates working for him in their honesty.  I took the car in the first time for AC coolant problems and it was resolved. I took the vehicle in several times to this shop and it wasn't until this last time that I felt like I was being taken for my money.  When my AC problem was repaired I was informed we needed to change the thermostat and that it was located in the radiator and it was connected.  So, with this being said I was informed that I had to purchase a new radiator.   I was shocked because I had never heard of a thermostat being inside but I went with it since it is a German car.  I took the car in for another reason I would have to look at my paperwork but I can't recall at this moment.  On March 20th the car sputtered and stopped on me and I had it towed in. I was informed that it was the fuel pump and some other items that needed to be replaced so I approved it and paid 1400.  The next month in April or early May the car behaved again in the same way but the check engine light came on first.  I didn't want to take a chance driving it so I had it towed again.  This time they didn't get to it right away and then when he had it all torn apart, he called me and said it was several things, INCLUDING the thermostat!!! I told him how could that be when the car just had the thermostat replaced and was told it was in the radiator.  He said it is not in the radiator???? I knew then something was wrong because this was the same guy.  Also, because he had my car torn apart I didn't not feel comfortable going to pick it up without having them complete the so called repair.  I never gave them permission to take the vehicle apart as they did, after I picked up the vehicle he had me sign off on the estimate when I never entered the store!!!! I did not go with the vehicle when I had it towed there to the business.  I was scared  and nervous and went back and forth with the manager, I even told him that I didn't feel comfortable and that I would not ever be coming back to this business.  So, I thought about it more.....my car had absolutely no sign of overheating and I never received a diagnostic report showing this....oh he did attach one after I paid.  That should have been provided prior to the work!  I also asked for all the parts and he gave me one saying they were in the trash can and he could go dig them up.  I told him never mind because I was upset that I asked him for the parts 3 times before I picked up the vehicle.  I am asking that they give me my money back because I feel that they did not follow a business like manner and claim things were bad when I was told by another mechanic I would have known if the thermostat was out. Thank you,Mrs. [redacted]
