Review: I entered Kushi w/a friend & our table was not yet ready so we went to the bar to wait. Upon seating at the bar I was not acknowledged for several minutes, no greeting, no menu. Finally I asked for a menu after several minutes had gone by where I just sat there. We selected a sake to drink and asked for it by name. The menu stated prices for individual shots & for "masu" (japanese term). We thought we were ordering what was called a "masu". The bartender gave us a bottle & he asked me if I wanted the bottle, I said yes under the impression that masu was japanese for bottle. The bottle is actually 7 times bigger than the masu and of course greater in price. I realized this when I got the bill. I then looked at the menu again and realized my mistake and that masu and bottle were 2 different things. I thought that the menu should give you this information a little more clearly. If the bartender was giving us an $85 bottle of sake I think he should have notified us of the price and made sure we weren't thinking of the masu, like we were. However I took it as my mistake, signed the receipt, paid the bill & even gave a generous tip. We were then led to our dinner table. I told the waiter about the confusion & let him know that I thought the menu should read more clearly. I didn't ask for this but he said he would bring a manager over to talk to me, which I said fine to. I wasn't asking for a refund but I just wanted to alert them about the confusion so it doesn't happen again. The manager came over. He asked me what happened. I got no more than one sentence out when he interrupted me and told me he wasn't going to issue me a refund. I told him 1. I never asked for one 2. if I wanted a refund I wouldn't have paid the bill, signed, and tipped. He continued to talk over me and interrupt me and never let me get out what he asked me to say (the story). After such an encounter with the manager my appetite for dinner was ruined and the experience as well. I was insulted and belittled.Desired Settlement: I am not sure what "settlement" I would desire since it wasn't just a money thing but the way the manager talked to me, insulted me, belittled me and ruined my dining experience and the rest of the night for that matter. I was one of the first customers of Kushi since it opened and have been there several times including my birthday and anniversary. As good as the food is if I am going to be treated the way the manager treated me I will not be dining there again, nor taking me friends again.
