Mrs. [redacted] purchased a solid 14kt white gold handmade link bracelet for her husband on 12/02/2015 for $831.41 + tax = $900.00. She came back on... January 27th and requested a 26" necklace to match. She paid $2,771.36 + tax = $3,000.00. 26" is not a standard length of a necklace. Chains and necklaces typically come in 16", 18", 20", 24" & 28", this is typical industry wide.We have a no-refund policy due to the nature of our business and especially in this case, we had to have this custom made according to her specifications which also makes it a non-exchange purchase because the manufacturer will not accept it back. The necklace is not hollow, it is solid 14kt white gold. The bracelet is 7.5mm wide and 8" long and weighs approximately 9.0 grams and the necklace is also 7.5mm wide and weighs approximately 29 grams. It is very simple, basic math. We are regretful that they do not understand that and it is something that we cannot fix, but we don't believe that is basis for a refund nor do we understand how that is considered a scam. The claim that the necklace is lighter in weight than the bracelet is obviously false based on the facts above and because she did not bring in the bracelet to compare side by side when she came to pick up the necklace. She paid almost the exact same price per inch. We guarantee it to be 14kt gold. The issue of it being hollow or solid is irrelevant. It came from the same manufacturer that we ordered the bracelet from and is the exact match. This necklace in particular is sold by the PIECE because it is handmade and not based on gold weight, although the gold weight of the necklace is consistent to the weight of bracelet. It's like saying they have 2 cars, ones a Mercedes and one is Ford Focus and the Ford Focus shouldbe worth more because it weighs more. You have to compare apples to apples. We have nothing additional to add to this issue and the [redacted]'s should immediately come pick up their necklace or I would be happy to ship it to them free of charge.

None of the statements made by Gurinsky's Jewelers are correct nor accurate. We took the bracelet to an another jewelry store and they confirmed too that the bracelet was hollow. This applies to necklace as well. Gold is denser than metal thus it's heavier. Please see the Atomic Weight of Gold. Why is it dishonest ? Because Gurinsky is charging for solid gold but selling hollow. If the $3,000.00 29 grams necklace was SOLID gold, as it was ordered, it would weigh a lot more than an ounce. It's simple math that any other jeweler in town understands. Gold Price Per Ounce$ 1,209.68 1oz of gold=28.3495 grams. Name: Gold Symbol: Au Atomic Number: 79 Atomic Mass: 196.96655 amu Crystal Structure: Cubic Density @ 293 K: 19.32 g/cm3How to Spot Solid Gold Chains Over Hollow Ones'' Hollow chains/bracelets means exactly that, they are made with hollow pieces of metal making the jewelry item light weight and of course much less expensive. The downfall is once the item breaks or dents, they usually can not be repaired. Solid chains/bracelets consists of solid pieces of gold. These pieces will be heavier and more expensive but are repairable and with proper care could last a lifetime.FACT: On the order form it clearly says SOLID gold. FACT: Gurinsky didn't deliver the item the client originally ordered. FACT: The item was never picked up. FACT: The item never left the store. FACT: The item and the customer's money are in the possession of Gurinsky's Jeweler. We demand a full refund. Clearly as a jeweler you should know the definition of ''SOLID GOLD'' A 7.5mm width 26 inch necklace would not weigh 29 grams. A SOLID gold necklace of that size should weigh in around 40 grams. Everyone in the jewelry business knows that gold has bigger atomic mass than metal hence it's not light. Gurinsky's jewelry is trying to convince us against the principles of physics. The client ordered a solid gold necklace, Gurinsky's delivered hollow necklace. Read the order again and see where it says SOLID GOLD. Do you see anywhere written HOLLOW ? We are asking Gurinsky's fine jewelry to reveal the Business Name and Contact information of the vendor whom they ordered the necklace from, so we can confirm directly and have them do a cross section of the necklace to reveal that it's indeed hollow on the inside and therefore not solid gold.
