I was called on November 28, by a representative from Dish Network He told me that they had merged with Direct TV and that my contract with them was almost up He offered to set me up with an introductory package I wasn't sure of the end date, so since he seemed to know, I agreed They sent an installer who had on a shirt with both the Dish logo and Direct logo He installed everything, and gave me paperwork with both logos on it with the number to cancel Direct When I called they told me my contract was until February I called Dish and they stated they would pay for the cancellation So today Direct called me to find out why I was switching When I told them they indicated I was scammed Now to get Direct back, I have to buy out my contract with Dish-a total of $ I am a retired widow on a limited income, and can't afford this I also think I shouldn't have to pay a thing since they scammed me

Their installer mounted a huge ugly monstrosity on our roof which voided our insurance & we had a telephone pole installed for the purpose of mounting dishes & phone/electric etc
We are now stuck with this thing on the roof with higher premiumsI could have lived with it had it not come with new holes drilled into the house & wires down the outside
We already had a pvc pipe installed that ran to each room of the new house so for some reason our pre-planning was ignored
This company did fire the installer due to other problems as they explained it to me so not just the mistakes made at out home but others too
Most people just eat the loss but if this saves someone from what we've went through then it's well worth it
