Non disclosure of Product Description and Services given, Inaccurate Invoice/Bill, Irresponsible/Hostile behavior towards customer and Vehicle safety
I went to kwik kar to replace my car battery. My car is 2010 Toyota corolla Red with 129,648 miles.
The manger AMY told me to replace the battery which comes with 3 year warranty and suggested me to get the Fuel Injection done.
I agreed to perform both the services and I requested her to give back my old battery.
She told me to replace alternator and given an estimation of over $500 including labor and parts.
I called other kwik kar and they said alternator replacement cost would be around $350.00.
I told Amy that all I want her to do was battery change and Fuel Injection. After the battery replacement,
When I tried to turn the car on, the battery light was ON. I returned to her and asked if they did replaced the battery or not.
She told me that because of Alternators, the battery light was on.
I was a bit suspicious about their service and asked her if she could give me details of the Battery replaced.
She said battery warranty won't be covered since I declined alternator repair.
I asked her the battery product description, so that I can keep them in the records.
She was extremely rude and told me to get out of the parking lot.
After I drove few mins, I realized that her bill was recorded wrong car mileage.
She recorded my car mileage as 45,879 miles when my car actual mileage was 129,648 miles.
I drove back to kwik kar and asked her why they recorded a wrong/inaccurate car mileage.
She started yelling and told me to remove my car from her car parking lot.
I called 911 , since this is a civil matter, they couldn't send the offer to the site.
Neither she returned my old battery. I am even concerned if they really performed fuel Injection and the battery they used was a new.
Kindly please give me justice.
Please refund the Total cost i paid for the battery replacement and Fuel Injection which is $254.70 Terminate AMY(Manager) Employment for doing wrongful business since it will effect the business reputation and safety of the customers. When customer declines any services, which needs to be taken in a polite manner. Not all customers can afford all the repairs which you given in the suggestion list. customers only do important things as long as their life is running smooth. Invoice/Bill should disclose detailed products and services you are giving for the future reference. Warranty information is missing in the Invoice.
On the day of this complaint the customer was in a hurry and very inpatient. The manager informed her that we didn't have the battery in stock and that we could get the battery there in about 30 to 45 minutes. She then ask the manager about her gas being bad because the car had sat for 6 months. The manager informed her that her gas should be fine if it was only 6 months. Later she came back asking about the gas again. So the manager told the customer that if she was worried about it that we could do the fuel injection service. After that the customer left for a little bit. We replaced the battery, did the fuel injection and diagnosed that the alternator was bad (which we normally charged a $85.00 diagnostic fee for, but didn't charge her). The Manager called the customer and informed her of the price. The customer came back to the shop and immediately started yelling at the manager that she was being ripped off and that another shop down the road was only going to charge her $350 for the job. The manager informed the customer that our shop uses new parts and that the part the other shop was going to uses was probably a rebuild and that's why it was so cheap. The customer continued to yell at the manager. At that point the customer asked for her keys to check the car. The customer started the car and said "It's fine it started." That when the manager explained that the battery will go bad again if she doesn't do the alternator. The customer did not understand so the manager explained it again. She continued to yell at the manager. When the manager went to cash her out, the manager did put the wrong mileage in the computer on accident because the customer was in a hurry. The customer left upset. Then came back and started yelling again about there not being a description on the battery or the warranty. That's when the manager informed her that if she didn't get the alternator replaced at the shop or another that the battery would not be under warranty because the alternator was making the battery bad. The customer continued to yell. The manager asked the customer to leave the property because of her behavior. She left and came back yelling again about the mileage and saying she was calling the cops. The manager asked her to leave the property again. At that point the manager corrected the mileage in the computer on her invoice and waited for the cops to come so the manager could give the customer the correct invoice.
We do are best at our shop to take care of all of our customers. We never want our customers to leave unhappy. When customers start to scrutinize our employees because they are trying to do there job It makes it difficult on the employee. The manager is a very hard worker and has many compliments and praises from other customers. We will not be terminating her based on one customer complaint.
