KY Energy Pro has performed servicing of our HVAC units for a few years. We had preventive maintenance done in early April of 2019. Our unit was not operating correctly on 4/10/19. Technician came out and said the capacitor was bad and replaced with a 75 Ohm instead of the 50 ohm because they didn't have the correct size on the truck but it would be "okay" and they would replace in the next week or so (Paid for service with check number *** for $141.00). On 4/25/19 I called for service again because unit was not operating. Same Technician as 4/10 date replaced with "correct " sized capacitor and added freon. I had mentioned we had a power surge and he presumed that was the cause. But if the correct size capacitor had been used previously I wonder if this would happened again? Also technician added freon on this visit but no leak test was performed (the unit is only 3 years old, so freon should not be issue) . Was sent bill for $303.00 On 5/02/19 had to call again for service on same unit- sent Superintendent *** who performed leak testing and found leak in schrader valve and added more freon. Received bill for $130.00. On 5/6/18 Unit not operating again, so I called the company that installed our unit (***- who interestingly enough had found quality issues with KY Energy Pro's install of the other unit in our home when quoting HVAC work for renovation we were doing in 2016) . *** tech *** found unit with no freon and found leak in common port. Tech also stated that schrader valves sometimes get stuck open but usually do not need replacing. Paid *** $945.00 for repair work and unit is operating perfectly.
We strive to have 100% Customer Satisfaction. We strongly feel that the repairs that were made at the home on the particular unit was needed prior to it not working this last time. The customer did not call us back when it stopped working and chose to contact the company who installed the unit. Our diagnosis on the previous visits were repaired and the unit was up and running when we departed the location. It is unfortunate that it stopped working again and another repair needed to be made by the other company. We have two open invoices for the repairs that were made on 4/25/19 and 5/2/19 that are legitimate repairs and the balances are due from the customer to avoid legal action.

The unit worked only for a very short time after each subsequent repair because KY Energy Pro kept adding freon and it worked as long as the freon lasted, but they did not conduct a thorough leak investigation to find the leak in the common port.
