MR [redacted] DROPPED HIS VOLKSWAGON BEETLE OFF ON APROX1/3/HE STATED "THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT RIGHT, BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING"WE CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION AND FOUND INTERNAL FAILURESWE ALSO FOUND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE SENSOR INSIDE THE CARS MANUAL SHIFT LEVER, AND ALSO THE SENSOR SYSTEM, WHICH IN TURN CAUSED ERRATIC SHIFT OPERATION AND THE PROBLEM OF TRYING TO GET THE NEW TRANSMISSION REPAIR TO RELEARNALSO THE BATTERY KEPT GOING LOW AND DEAD AT TIMES, BECAUSE OF ITS POOR CONDITIONHIS WARRANTY COMPANY SENT A FORM AGREEING TO PAY $FOR THE TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL, LEAVING A BALANCE OF $MR [redacted] WAS INFORMED OF THIS PRICE AND THE BALANCE DUE FROM HIM AT THE END OF REPAIRSI( [redacted] ) CALLED AND INFORMED THE CUSTOMER THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS CAUSING A RELEARN ISSUEWE EXPLAINED THESE PROBLEMS, BUT THE CUSTOMER WANTED US TO TRY TO REPAIR THE OTHER PROBLEMS WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COSTHE ACTUALLY NEEDED A NEW SHIFTER/SENSOR ASSEMBLY, BUT HE DID NOT WANT TO BUY ONESO WE CONTINUALLY TRIED A LESS COSTLY ALTERNATIVE REPAIR WITH THE ELECTRONICSAFTER SEVERAL TRIES, WE NEEDED TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR TO SEE IF THESE EFFORTS WOULD WORK, AND ACHIEVE THE RELEARN PROCESS WE NEEDED FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT ON APROX1/20/I (R [redacted] ) CALLED MR [redacted] AND INFORMED HIM THE BATTERY IN HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT HOLDING A CHARGE, AND EVERY TIME IT WENT DEAD THE RELEARN WAS NOT GETTING ACCOMPLISHEDHE THAN AGREED TO A NEW BATTERYWE ALSO TRIED REPEATEDLY TO FIND A USED SHIFTER/SENSOR ASSEMBLY FOR HIS VEHICLEBUT DUE TO THE TRIPTRONIC SHIFTER TYPE, NONE WERE TO BE FOUND USEDWE CALLED THE CUSTOMER AND GAVE PRICING FOR A SHIFTER/SENSOR ASSEMBLY, THE CUSTOMER DECLINED DUE TO THE PART BEING $AND COSTING TOO MUCH MR [redacted] PICKED UP HIS VEHICLE AS IT WAS AND SAID HE WOULD HAVE THE ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS LOOKED AT ELSEWHERETHE ADDITIONAL MILES ON THE VEHICLE WERE FROM THE BATTERY GOING DEAD, AND US CONTINUALLY TRYING TO FIX THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMSTHIS WAS DONE AT NO FURTHER COST TO HIM, AND TO SEE IF WE COULD ACHIEVE THE RELEARN PROCEDURE, WHICH AGAIN COULD ONLY BE DONE BY DRIVING VEHICLEWE DID EXPLAIN ALL THIS TO HIM AND DESPITE THE EXTRA TIME WE PUT INTO TRYING TO SAVE HIM MONEY ON THESE ELECTRICAL TRIAL REPAIRS AT HIS REQUEST, THIS WAS DONE AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO HIM

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowThe first Lie here is this car was dropped off on December 22, 2014, It was dropped off here by [redacted] the dealer I had purchased and took it to for repairI was not even aware KZ had my car for two weeksI had called the dealership to ask what was happening with the car when I was then told it was with KZ I called them to find out what was going on they told me with the holidays they didn't work two days out of the two weeksI was informed that the transmiasson needed to be repaired they would be putting in a claim with [redacted] After waiting another week with no word I again called and was told someone from [redacted] was coming to look at the car before they approved the repairThis repair as done or so we thought and we had been told the shifter was the electrical issue that caused the transmission to go bad they could replace this for we had to pay because if they put in a claim for it [redacted] may refuse to pay the transmission work, so we said OK do itTwo weeks or so went by with no word on the car we called Again they said they could not get the part at the quoted price wanted we said no to thisThey had at no point said anything about a battery but that they needed to drive the car miles to reset the car pick it up Friday when I stopped to get it I wasn't ready they said to get it Monday again I stopped on Monday it wasn't ready they still didn't know what was wrong on Tuesday my wife said it was to be pulled they had no idea what they were doing and the car was gone all weekend because someone was using itSure enough when we picked it up the miles I was told about was The car was then taken to [redacted] along with all paperwork from kz's and they did find and replace an osenser and tested the shifter as we had been told that was the issueThe shifted is fine no issues per vw however after going over the car they did state the car needed a new transmission! We called [redacted] and have been told we had to return the car to kz for this as its under warranty with themWe have reluctantly taken the car back and are now waiting for the games to begin all over againI am also sending this as well as the answer from kz to the DMV for review with paperwork from vw as to the unneeded repairs they are still trying to claim! THE 02 SENSOR SYSTEM, WHICH IN TURN CAUSED ERRATIC SHIFT OPERATION AND THE PROBLEM OF TRYING TO GET THE NEW TRANSMISSION REPAIR TO RELEARN. ALSO THE BATTERY KEPT GOING LOW AND DEAD AT TIMES, BECAUSE OF ITS POOR CONDITION. HIS WARRANTY COMPANY SENT A FORM AGREEING TO PAY $2066.90 FOR THE TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL, LEAVING A BALANCE OF $188.65 MR. [redacted] WAS INFORMED OF THIS PRICE AND THE BALANCE DUE FROM HIM AT THE END OF REPAIRS. I([redacted]) CALLED AND INFORMED THE CUSTOMER THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS CAUSING A RELEARN ISSUE. WE EXPLAINED THESE PROBLEMS, BUT THE CUSTOMER WANTED US TO TRY TO REPAIR THE OTHER PROBLEMS WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COST. HE ACTUALLY NEEDED A NEW SHIFTER/SENSOR ASSEMBLY, BUT HE DID NOT WANT TO BUY ONE. SO WE CONTINUALLY TRIED A LESS COSTLY ALTERNATIVE REPAIR WITH THE ELECTRONICS. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, WE NEEDED TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR TO SEE IF THESE EFFORTS WOULD WORK, AND ACHIEVE THE RELEARN PROCESS WE NEEDED FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT.   ON APROX. 1/20/15 I (R. [redacted]) CALLED MR. [redacted] AND INFORMED HIM THE BATTERY IN HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT HOLDING A CHARGE, AND EVERY TIME IT WENT DEAD THE RELEARN WAS NOT GETTING ACCOMPLISHED. HE THAN AGREED TO A NEW BATTERY. WE ALSO TRIED REPEATEDLY TO FIND A USED SHIFTER/SENSOR ASSEMBLY FOR HIS VEHICLE. BUT DUE TO THE TRIPTRONIC SHIFTER TYPE, NONE WERE TO BE FOUND USED. WE CALLED THE CUSTOMER AND GAVE PRICING FOR A SHIFTER/SENSOR ASSEMBLY, THE CUSTOMER DECLINED DUE TO THE PART BEING $737.00 AND COSTING TOO MUCH.   MR. [redacted] PICKED UP HIS VEHICLE AS IT WAS AND SAID HE WOULD HAVE THE ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS LOOKED AT ELSEWHERE. THE ADDITIONAL MILES ON THE VEHICLE WERE FROM THE BATTERY GOING DEAD, AND US CONTINUALLY TRYING TO FIX THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THIS WAS DONE AT NO FURTHER COST TO HIM, AND TO SEE IF WE COULD ACHIEVE THE RELEARN PROCEDURE, WHICH AGAIN COULD ONLY BE DONE BY DRIVING VEHICLE. Two weeks or so went by with no word on the car we called Again they said they could not get the part at the quoted price wanted 800.00 we said no to this. They had at no point said anything about a battery but that they needed to drive the car 125 miles to reset the car pick it up Friday when I stopped to get it I wasn't ready they said to get it Monday again I stopped on Monday it wasn't ready they still didn't know what was wrong on Tuesday my wife said it was to be pulled they had no idea what they were doing and the car was gone all weekend because someone was using it. Sure enough when we picked it up the 125 miles I was told about was 330. The car was then taken to [redacted] along with all paperwork from kz's and they did find and replace an o2 senser and tested the shifter as we had been told that was the issue. The shifted is fine no issues per vw however after going over the car they did state the car needed a new transmission!
