Work to be done: Sand and refinishing hardwood floors with 1 coat of stain and 3 coats of finish in all areas of the house. Prep by covering and sealing all vents and areas with plastic that need it. All baseboards will remain in place, paint touch up will be recommended to do after floors are done. NOTE: job will take approximate 5-6 days .
Complaint: We were lied to about the Job, the quality, their experience, about how long it would take to complete, the amount of work that was required, the repairs that would be needed and how much dust would be caused. The job was performed very hasty and is still is not completed after 2 months. Multiple walls were cracked during sanding and needed to be repaired, All the baseboards are in need of repair throughout the entire house. The work performed was sloppy and very rushed. Sanding is still needed at some parts of the baseboards from the previous stain still appearing outside of the baseboards. Gouges that were caused from scraping instead of sanding the wood were never filled and repaired. The last time they were here to complete the job, the workers only worked in the kitchen and living room and missed the entire rest of the house. The outside thresholds were also sanded and no exterior coating was applied. Our thresholds are completely exposed to the elements and termites. *** and *** barely communicated with us and his workers as well. They left it to another worker to hurry and complete the job. When we directly contact either *** or *** we get a response from someone else.

Billing Adjustment We would like them to discount their total price. We want them to pay for the baseboards to be repaired. They need to be grouted, sanded and painted. The floors are still not completed as they were promised they would be. We should not pay 100% for a job that was not completed 100%. We have to hire another company to fix and paint. *** and *** told us they would complete the job, pay to get us cleaners (they made a huge mess), and get painters. Now they are going back on their promises and saying they met YOUR minimum standards and are threatening to put a California Preliminary Notice on our home. We are not being difficult at all, we just want the job done and the floors to look good. We are getting paint quotes at *** to fix what they did and looking for floor quotes to fix as well.
L.A. Floors Removal Inc., knows that the job has been completed. There has been extra coats done aside from the original invoice. There has been a $300.00 deduction for a cleaning fee and our men have gone out there multiple times to fix was the complaint has requested. Every time our men went out to "finish the job" the next day there would be more complaints. We have hired somebody to fix the cracks on the wall that was said was damaged from our work. There was never an agreement for painting and therefore we have not painting anything and we don't know what they are referring to when they say they are getting quotes to paint to fix what we did. We do not agree to reduce our price aside form the $300.00 because our job has been done and completed. The total reminder balance is $***.

The owners have not contacted us, nor have they communicated with us. The job was never completed, floors never finished. We cannot pay full price for something not completed or discussed. We are not coming up with issues, they are the same ones not completed from day one. They are issues we discussed with the contractors state license board.
We will pay $*** max for an 80% job that has cost us way more money, time, and mental and emotional anguish.

Again, our intention has never been to complete bad quality work and give any customer a bad experience working with us and we apologize that you have felt this way throughout this process. We do wish to prolong this situation any further and cause any further anguish.
