L & L Transmission Center Reviews (1)

Review: Transmission was never fixed properly. Continually leaks and has broken down twice sense having been repaired. Didn't even last one year.

I took my 97 Chevy Lumina into the repair shop on Oct 26, 2009. [redacted], who was the manager of the business quoted me that the repairs would come to $1850. I agreed and they took the car and repaired it. But when the transaction was completed, within a week, I noticed the transmission shifting harder than usual. I brought the car back to him Dec 2009 to have [redacted] take a look at it. They called me up a few days after I dropped in off around the 9th of Dec, and said the car was fine. So I picked it up and said no more about it. Then on Oct 4th, 2010, my friends and I were driving downtown in Sacramento when the transmission blew out again, leaking fluid all over the road. I have two witnesses that can testify to this. I took it back to [redacted] again. He said he would fix it again, in honor or the 1 year agreement that if anything should go wrong, I bring it to [redacted] and he would fix it up. But they didn't fix the problem, the just put a new seal on the transmission. Five months later, the transmission was leaking again. I took it back to [redacted] and asked him why this wasn't fixed. He didn't know, but he said he would repair it again. This was May of 2011. Then after he fixed it, it still shifted hard. I visited another shop in Sacramento called [redacted] Machine & Engine Repair on [redacted] Arden Way Sacramento, CA 95825 [redacted] to check a leak that I thought was coming from my engine. It wasn't the engine, but the transmission again. I asked the owner if he could repair it and flush the transmission out. The owner knew [redacted] from l and l transmission, called him up and worked out a term of repair with his shop. [redacted] offered to repair the transmission with another seal, but when the auto mechanics looked at my car, the found particles of silicone sealant

jammed up in the seal that [redacted] put in there the second time. They just glued it, nothing more. They never pulled the transmission apart to see what was wrong with it. After all this, the vehicle was fixed by [redacted] on Jan 2012, only to break down again in Jan 2013, a year later. I sold it to another man for parts, but I think that this whole situation is unfair. L and L transmission should either repay me in full, including the money I put into rental cars while they took their time repairing it, or they should shut down their business. I am very displeased with the service that I received from them.Desired Settlement: I wanted to be refunded my $1850 that I put into the car, plus I wanted to be refunded the $631 that it cost me in car rentals when the kept my vehicle for over a week, two times in 2011. The total refund I am looking for will be $2481.
