Cosmetic Skin solutions hired Reno Techs to Design and Develop a new eCommerce website. We generated mock ups based on their initial...

requirements and asked for feedback. We revised mock ups based on their feedback and sent it back over to them. Feedback and revisions went back and forth from 9/28/15 to 10/20/15. Cosmetic Skin Solutions then decided to go in a completely different direction with their design and asked us to start over. We then generated new mock ups based on their new requirements (sent to us on 10/28/15) and sent them over 11/2/15. They did not like our design, so they said they would be designing their own mock ups. While we waited for mock ups, we moved forward with the backend development of the website. The final approved Home Page mockup was sent to Reno Techs 11/2/2015. On 12/4/2015 I provided Cosmetic Skin Solutions with a link to view the demo environment with the approved home page. The website as a whole is about 80% complete and the client sent Reno Techs an insulting letter discussing the extra money they had to spend hiring their own designer (which was their own choice) and the progress of the site. What the client did not understand is that we were almost 100% complete with the backend of the website and we're still waiting on the final mock ups for the interior pages which is the final 20% of the website. Our contract states that the website would be completed in 60 business days depending on Cosmetic Skin Solutions feedback and content being supplied in a timely manner. Reno Techs has provided access to the progress of the backend development with a breakdown of work completed. Technically we have only been working on the website for 33 days, this time frame is based on when the new website script was supplied, 10/28/15, to the day they asked to terminate the contract 12/15/2015. Due to the fact the website is 80% completed, we request 80% of total of the agreed payment to end this contract. Once we receive payment we will supply Cosmetic Skin Solutions with all of the files and databases for the completed work.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/12/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We have had to start from scratch with another website developer in order to receive appropriate handling of our needs. Reno Tech's failure to deliver anything, the way we have been treated, and the length of wasted time are inappropriate and no further payments will be made beyond that which they have received. We have not received what we have already paid for and have been treated poorly in addition.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/12/28) */
The choice to start from scratch with another developer was your own. We have agreed to handover all databases and files once we receive final payment for the work completed. You can continue to say you were treated poorly, but your company continued to send emails attacking our progress and the work completed. All we did was defend ourselves and explain the reason for the delays.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/12/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Thank you. However, we are unable to come to a resolution.
