I was Involved in a wild fire and the insurance company recommended Belfor as the restoration company, I've never been through anything like this so I said sure and they sent out a representative along with my adjusterHe said he would handle everything and I would not have to worry about anything everything would be taken care of including pulling permits from the county I asked he said yesAfter the work was done to a semi satisfied completion I asked about one of the doors that got damaged they repaired it and asked if I was happy and we said sure it was okToday I had somebody come in that I am buying new doors from and he noticed the repaired door going into the garage that Belfor had fixed and told me that it's an illegal door/repair as per local code it should not have been fixed but replaced to keep up it's fire rating When I recontacted Belfor about this they said "too bad, we put it back the way it was we are not obligated to bring it up to code" I contacted the county building Department and they informed me Belfor never pulled any permits to do any work which should have been done I do not recommend them as a company to use for any work
