As a single mom, I was given a "discount" for my hour consultation Instead of $for the hour, I was quoted $ However, upon my arrival for the designated appointment, I was kept waiting for an hour before meeting with MsW*** My hour consultation was only minutes She was not informative as to my legal matter When I learned of a way to change my son's surname back to mine, I contacted her office to ask if abandonment was potentially a means to change it (a simple yes or no answer) I was told I would have to pay another consultation fee although I had only met with MsW*** for half of the time for which I had paid! I should have walked out when she kept me waiting And the fact that she did not discuss all potential means of reverting my son's name back with me (she should know about abandonment), but just kept telling me it couldn't be done indicates she is not familiar with her alleged area of expertise The consultation fee applies to her retainer, but I'm not inclined to use an attorney who is not pro active in helping my case
