To Whom it may concern:
In March of the client purchased a vintage record player and needed to get it to TexasSince my sister also lives in Texas, offered to deliver the item to him when I visited my sister (at no charge) and as the receipt
states at no specific timeEverything seemed to be fine until the following month when we received an obnoxious voice mail stating that if we did not have the item at his house by that particular weekend, he was going to sue usWhen we finally were able to have a conversation with the client, he stated that he no longer wanted the itemWe said fine, we would credit his ***Card, but he would not give us his number (we do not keep client’s credit card information on file)We then offered to send him a check and that is when he started demanding three times the amount he paid for the item, stating some type of Texas law or regulationWe, of course said no and within a week we received a letter from a lawyer, again requesting three times the amount paid for the item
We explain to the client as well as the lawyer that we were offering free delivery, but not within the client’s fictitious time lineWe offered to credit his card, he refusedWe offered to send him a check; he refused stating that if it was not for three times the amount, he was going to return the checkThe client stated to you that he could speak with us, not at all true, he has spoken often with me directly, with my partner and with members of my staffHis behavior is always obnoxious and belligerent
We sent him a cashier’s check ($ 530) certified mail two days agoWe have been in business for years in Washington, DC, and we really do try our best to satisfy our clients, but every once in a white, we encounter a difficult one, but never as bad as this one

I am rejecting this response because:I could dispute virtually all assertions made by L'Enfant, but, suffice it to say that despite numerous assurances over weeks that payment was being sent in a few days or that payment had been sent, the last time being on the 29th, the check was made out for the following 10th and the postmark on the envelope containing it was also stamped the 10th, which is several days after I made my complaint to the Revdex.com and also gave a scathing online review of their practices on ***They have just proved that they in fact lied over the course of over a month by attaching their own check, which is clearly datedI would've had no problem with any alterations to my paintings had they secured a payment from the prospective buyer, but, to alter my property with no guarantee of a sale, without consulting me first, was wrongHad the prospective buyer reneged
, I would have been left with a pair of paintings in frames I never saw, when the previous ones were custom made and carved at great expense for the paintingsAs it ended up, this was done in December and I did not receive payment from L'Enfant until months later, after taking action against the galleryI believe this proves my point, and I believe further that this complaint should be visible on your site so that potential consignors have an idea of their lack of honesty in dealing with clients and their property

May 4, 2015We have some 20-emails from this consignor, I will be happy to send you all of her emails and my responses if you would likeI am also faxing you a copy of the check in question, in one of my emails to her, stated that the client buying her paintings could not pay the
balance until they first paid their taxesAs soon as received payment, sent her the amount dueregret having to say this, but in years of business, we have not had a more difficult clientWe have been friends of her brother for many years and have had nothing but delightful dealings with him*** *** told me once during an apologize for her erratic behavior that she is suffering severe back pain and that because of this pain, she sometimes displays inconsistent and intermittent Strange angry behaviorWe have a consignment agreement with *** *** and this agreement clearly states that the paintings in question where to be priced at $ 5,000.When they were sold, the purchaser was willing to pay the $5,000, but they wanted to have them cleaned and reframed (at their cost, not *** ***'s)There was absolutely no reason to ask a consignor if the purchaser can clean or reframe their purchaseWhen the consignor started having a very strange reaction to the reframing of the paintings, we explained to her that the old frames row belonged to the purchaser of the paintings, but if these frames are so important to her, we would ask the purchaser to set us have the frames if we discounted the paintings slightly and sent the frames to *** ***Which we did at our costI could go on for the next couple of pages with the *** saga, but it really is quite boringAgain, everything just told to you, have emails confirming if you need them, let me know,Sincerely,Maureen T

July 1, MsHome,Since *** has in fact retained legal counsel many months prior to contacting your organization, as did we, I cannot address this issue myself.All I can address is the fact that all monies have been returned to **, *** and the sale cancelled
via our attorney, *** ***, Washington, DC, and that *** is not exactly truthful in his representation of the facts.I can also state that we have been in business here in Washington for the past forty years end this is the second complaint sent to youThe first was only slightly more ludicrous than this one.Best regards,
