I am writing this letter to reply to the complaint by my client. I sent them an estimate to prime and paint the master bathrom only. Prior to me starting the work, the contractor had some patching and texture to finish. Well that didn't happen, I showed up on the day we were to start painting and...

the client asked me to do the texture work. I agreed to do it, since I had a crew of guys already there.The estimate was for $1000 to prime and paint the bathroom. No texturing included.I went ahead and did it for free. Myself and 3 other painters finished in about 8 hours time. They refused to pay me and said the texture work needed to be redone. About 2 week • I went by and they gave me half $500.I dont know why my money would be held for texture reasons, since I had not bid for it to begin with. Reguardless, they called the contractor out to redo the texture at least 3 times to my knowledge. Until they were satisfied. Then I went back out again aner patching was resolved. I primed and repaint it again a 2nd time knowing that I am losing money. Again, they refused to pay me my $500 balance. About 3 weeks laterafter calling my contractor, they decided to pay me.At no point in those 3 weeks did they complain about the paint or anything else for that matter. Then a few weeks after I got my final payment, I get a call from the contractor saying the paint isn't drying. About 6 weekS from when I finished. I don't believe the paint not drying has anything to do with me. For a couple reasons.First, I witnessed a leak in the skylight in the bathroom, that leaked into the drywall.So there could be moisture in the walls. They never addressed that issue. And secondly, the paint not drying is a product issue. Therefore it should be dealt with through the paint manufacturer. Which in this case is [redacted].
