Just wanted to let you know that I did receive the check sent by Maaco to resolve this complaint and it appears that it has cleared the bank; that surprises me since the company's manager is not an honest one Although I have accepted this as a settlement I do want to say - there is no way I would ever use or recommend Maaco Auto Painting to do body work or to paint a carI would try harder to find a professional to do the work correctlyWhen you get a new paint job on your car it is not acceptable to have bare metal showing and they should have know how to correct this problemThank you for your time in trying to get this matter settled

I am responding to Mr [redacted] last response to his complaint, The repair Mr [redacted] paid [redacted] to perform clearly was to align the left fenderPlease reference our repair order, We were not paid to align the door or the fender of Mr [redacted] Impala, Mr [redacted] did pay us to straighten dents in the left door this work had nothing to do with the alignment of the door or fender Mr [redacted] would like to be reimbursed for the alignment to the door and fender; however, he did not pay us to perform this serviceTherefore, we do not feel we owe Mr [redacted] for the reimbursement

I am a little confused as to why we would reimburse someone for work we were not paid to do in the first place But for customer goodwill we will offer Mr [redacted] half of the $he is requesting at this time, If we go to mediation the offer is off the table If this is acceptable to Mr [redacted] let us know.To answer your last email on mediation with Mr [redacted] If we need to go to mediation January 22, at 10:am is okay with us

Please find attached the original invoice for repairs to be completed on Mr [redacted] ImpalaThe area on the right front door and fender were not part of the original repairsMr [redacted] was not charged to do any work in this areaThe second invoice shows that we would try to adjust the doorAgain, Mr [redacted] was not charged Mr [redacted] would like to be reimbursed for the repairs to the door and fenderHowever, he did not pay us to do the repair in the first placeTherefore, we do not feel we owe Mr [redacted] for the reimbursement

I am rejecting this response because: I did pay to have the left door straightened (refer to the invoice that was sent to you- #4) and believe the workmanship of the body repairs was unprofessionalIt is never acceptable to pickup your newly painted car and see bare metal showing; which is going to be rusted by the end of winter. I just wasted all the money I paid to have the body repairs and new paint job doneThe work that was done was definitely not worth the $that I paidDon't you have to wonder why Mr*** was so understanding of the problems, talked me into paying in full by telling me to bring the car back to have the door moved away from the fender, he even made it look good by putting the return visit and what was to be repaired on the invoiceOn the second drop off he did say they probably just need to put in a spacer (which was all that was needed), but they didn't even try to fix the problem areaMaybe because the employee looked at the work order and it said right front door, saw that there was no problem with that door and didn't do anything.Again if you read the invoice, the dent at the left door handle is item #(which Mr*** is referring to in the last response) and straighten left door is #(which I was charged the most for); also note dents and straightens are different on the invoiceAlso note on the *** *** invoice that was sent to you; Repair - Align Left Front Door and Brush touch Left Front Door and Right Front Door, he did miss putting the rear bumper touch up on the invoiceBoth times when I picked up the car there were damages done; on the first pick up Mr*** appeared to be surprised and ready to take care of the damages that I pointed out and on the second pick up Mr*** would not even come out to re-inspect the car; he knew there were damages and no longer wanted to deal with the problemsThe main thing I did wrong was trusting Mr. ***, I should not have paid the full payment until the problem was taken care of

I am rejecting this response because: I did pay to have the left door straightened along with other body repairs and new paintIt is not acceptable to pick up a car you just had painted and see bare metal showing When they straightened the left door (which I did Pay for-see attached invoice) and they saw that it caused the door to hit the fender, they could have put in a spacer at the time of repair and this would not have become a problemI would have been more than happy to pay for an extra spacer just as I agreed to pay to have the left rocker molding replacedThey called on 6/12/to say it could not be repaired and they needed to order a new one to replace it, I agreed to pay the additional $250.00. See attached letter for more details, pictures of the damages taken on 7/30/14, the 2 invoices I received from Maaco when I picked up the car and from *** *** that did the repairs on the door and scratches

We are mailing the check to Mr*** today. Ck#*** $settlement in fullThank you for all of your help

Please find attached the original invoice for repairs to be completed on Mr. [redacted]
2005 Impala. The area on the right front door and fender were not part of the original
repairs. Mr. [redacted] was not charged to do any work in this area. The second invoice
shows that we would try to adjust the...

door. Again, Mr. [redacted] was not charged.
Mr. [redacted] would like to be reimbursed for the repairs to the door and fender. However,
he did not pay us to do the repair in the first place. Therefore, we do not feel we owe Mr.

Just wanted to let you know that I did receive the check sent by Maaco to resolve this complaint and it appears that it has cleared the bank; that surprises me since the company's manager is not an honest one . Although I have accepted this as a settlement I do want to say - there is no way I would ever use or recommend Maaco Auto Painting to do body work or to paint a car. I would try harder to find a professional to do the work correctly. When you get a new paint job on your car it is not acceptable to have bare metal showing and they should have know how to correct this problem. Thank you for your time in trying to get this matter settled.

I am a little confused as to why we would reimburse someone for work we were not paid to do in the first place.  But for customer goodwill we will offer Mr. [redacted] half of the $111.79 he is requesting at this time,  If we go to mediation the offer is off the table.  If this is acceptable to Mr. [redacted] let us know.To answer your last email on mediation with Mr. [redacted]If we need to go to mediation January 22, 2015 at 10:00 am is okay with us.

I am rejecting this response because:  I did pay to have Maaco pull
out the dent in the left door (line item #3 – Dent L Door at Handle) and to
Straighten/Align the left door (line item #4 – Str L Dr).

Either way, I also paid for a
new paint job; when I went in to pick up the car on 6/18/14 there was a 1½
inch section of bare metal exposed; which would obviously be rusted by the end
of winter. So how about we settle this by Maaco giving a discount for the cost
of the paint job plus pay the $25.00 for the repairs of the deep scratches put
on the car while in the care of Maaco from 7/22/14 to 7/30/14.

Or Maaco could reimburse me
for line item #4 plus the $25.00 for the repairs of the deep scratches.

If Mr. [redacted] felt that an
additional charge would be needed to Straighen/Align the left door and fender
to fix the problem and complete the paint job; why did he not say this on
6/18/14 when the problem was first observed or when the car was dropped off on
7/22/14 or when I went in to pick the car up on the second visit on 7/30/14. Why
did he tell me to bring the car back in on 6/18/14 when he didn’t plan on doing anything? Mr. [redacted] has not addressed the problem with the deep scratches.

In response to the email and letter received on 12/12/14, I do agree to enter into the mediationprocessed by the Revdex.com. Any of the days listed in the letter for January will work for me. Just letme know the day and time when it's setup and I'll make arrangements to be there.
