La Crosse Sign Co Reviews (1)

Review: I was given an estimate of a couple hundred dollars to replace a few burned out bulbs in an outdoor sign. When I got the invoice in the mail, I was shocked that they replaced all 36 bulbs, 3 ballasts, disposal of 36 bulbs, and fuel surcharges. This wasn't anything that we agreed on, but a scam to sell more unnecessary items. As of today, there are still bulbs that are out, glass on the ground, and 2 panels out of 5 that don't even light anymore. (All 5 panels were working fine before they touched it) I explained all of this previously to them and Credit Bureau Data, Inc. of Lacrosse, but have not heard anything back from them. This work was done over 9 months ago. I would never recommend this company to anyone that needs sign work in the Lacrosse/Winona area.Desired Settlement: I would like my sign to be working properly as it did before they touched it, with all bulbs lit up when it goes on. And I will agree to pay them according to their original bid.

I think our Revdex.com record speaks for itself.

We believe in ethnical business practices above all else.

This is an unusual , unfortunate matter .

I was not there when our technician asked if he could repair Mr. [redacted]’s sign. I am going off of what I was told. And I believe our Tec.

He (our Tec) did mention it looks like you have several burnt out bulbs.

He did get permission to fix the sign. He explained to Mr. [redacted] that it would be $200- 300 if it was several bulbs. If ballast or more lamps are required it would go up from there. At that point Mr. [redacted] said go ahead and fix it.

It was much worse than he thought. All the bulbs were bad, with several not lighting at all. Upon noticing this he called from the job site several times to reach our client with no return calls . Knowing he was given permission to get it fixed and that it would cost our customer more if we pulled off and came back our Tec saw the repairs through.

Under normal circumstances its best to replace all the bad bulbs at one time.

And from the outside looking in he had no way of knowing the ballast were bad.

Our Tec tried after repairing for several months to reach our client. Left numerous voice messages and detailed descriptions of what took place with no response.

After invoicing and not getting a response or payment we tried multiple times to reach our client with again no response.

When we did connect we agreed because of his attitude, to our customer first service approach. We call this, take care of the customer. We Took off all the on sight labor to repair. All lamp disposal fees. All of the fuel surcharge leaving only the new parts installed in his sign to pay. And yet he still is unsatisfied.

He indicated we left broken glass on the ground behind. We did not.

By his own admission in a letter to you he admits he was given an estimate of several hundred dollars to repair his sign for a few burned out bulbs.

His settlement would be , for his sign to work properly as it did before we touched it. Why did he agree to have us fix it if it worked properly? And if he agreed to pay according to the original bid. Wasn’t that for several bulbs? Not all of them and the ballast that were bad?

Our company does not and will not practice unethical behavior in hopes of getting work in the door.

Thanks you.

Response:

There are many untrue statements made here by Lacrosse Sign Co.

1. The Tech never called me prior to completing the work. My phone is answered 24 hrs/day, every day of the week.

2. Ballasts were never mentioned at anytime.

3. The sign still does not light properly. Some bulbs are still out, and some panels don't light at all.

4. Broken bulbs are still on the ground at the base of the sign. No one else has ever touched that sign. If it isn't cleaned up soon, I will do it myself in the Spring.

5. I did try explaining my position on this, but was told that I'm not their "type" of customer, and was hung up on twice. This is what they call customer service.

6. Before they touched this sign, all panels lit up. If a couple of bulbs were out, it wasn't noticeable by me.

7. It's worse today, than it was before they worked on it. I still want it working properly, and will call another company if they don't get there soon.

8. I'm not a big commercial customer that just pays any bill that comes in the mail. But I do pay all legitimate bills that are mine.

Response:

TEC says he did try to call. And tried multiple times. Our office called multiple times. Our office support resorted to use a personal phone to contact Mr [redacted] as he would not answer our land line. He answered that call. And that didn't go well.

We conclude he is using any method to not pay.
