Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I can see this is going to go back & forth. So let me tell you about some of there answer & opinions on how some of this is going down. I will send you some of the paperwork I have also I called looking at a trailer they had in their ad & talked to ***. That one was gone but *** had one coming in. So he gave a little information about it and sent some pictures. I called to see when we could see it. *** drove up on the 12/10/to view it( we had been burned by bad pictures before) he liked & said we would buy it. Gave them $check to hold it for us. We wanted it right away because we were going to need it - so after talking to *** we agree to bring a check on 12/13/for the remaining - $23,which we did. They were fixing some lights when we got there & I took care of the paperwork. We brought it back & dropped it off at our local shop to have it inspected & checked over before we could use it (We would not have used it on 12/14/a Sunday like they said) but we did buy it to use, not sit here. So yes, they did say they were waiting for a title - that's when we knew it was from someone else not them. But that was fine most sales wait for everything to clear, first So we had work done to get it ready and I got no title. So while we waited I rented a trailer from another company here in town. Because I had NO title - plate & registration were someone else's. So I finally received the title on 12/22/so I pl***ed to go the DMV on the 29th after the holidays. That is the day everything fell apart & this underhanded stuff started. I was at the counter wanting to register the trailer & get a plate for it. It took the girl quite sometime to come back with my paperwork. She asked me where I got the title. From the people that sold it to me. It was not the right title that is registered in Wisconsin. They had a "Salvaged" title that *** *** had. He had brought in a "Salvaged" title from PA & registered it in WI. That was the first I heard the words "Salvaged" with this trailerSo the title they gave me was NO goodWe would not have paid that much for it or we may not have bought it at all if we had known. So I called LTR right away to talk to *** or *** about this( Now you look at the title.) It is from Iowa not from WI& dated 12/17/14. What is going on? DMV is just up the road from them! If nothing was going on why did I not get Mr***'s title stamped free & clear from who ever he owed? If he owed someone? I could have done something then. I would have also seen it was "salvaged" they were trying to hide something. How do you get a supposed "lean" off in a couple of day & re title in that time? They never said anything about a lean - that came laterWell they didn't understand why I couldn't get it & they would check into it. I should send back the title & they would fix it. I even called Mr*** - he said he gave them a salvaged title when he gave them the trailer - he said it was free & clear! They said the fund were done in weeks ? from the 12/13/to 12/17/is not weeks. So after calling to see what they were going to do about this - they would set up an appointment with a state inspector & we could get it inspected & straightened out for get the title redone as "rebuilt salvage" We were going to have to do this! Our time, a drivers logging this & what if it doesn't pass - who gets the charges? They could have gotten the inspector to come to our place - they did it for us one time when we needed them to. It wasn't our job we didn't try to cover it up or mislead anyone with the sales. Once they knew something was wrong they should have called & fessed up & tried to make it right then. We did nothing wrong but buy - a useless piece of equipment, now. I was never informed of the appointment because I was told it would also take a couple of weeks for the state to decide when they might be able to do it. So I am still renting a trailer because I can't use this oneI was the one calling & sending emails that were rarely answered or get this a company that's emails were not working for days, full or even the phones didn't workThat really was the last straw, yes I told them I would take stronger matters if they didn't agree they expected us to fix things for them - NO way. We were not in the wrong. How in the world could we damage a trailer that we had to have things fixed because they didn't? We wanted the trailer that's why we bought it- what good would damage to it do us? Their excuse about their driver - he had better know how to inspect vehicles it is part of his jobBut we should have to do that. I don't trust them anymore. I have pictures of the trailer when we got it. There nothing wrong with it - in fact we fixed things they didn't but yet if we took it to them - they could claim damage, stop the check before we got back, who knows with them When we have that much money out there are we going to risk it - I think not. *** & *** wouldn't even talk to me they gave it to another guy called Travis - he was the one that signed for the registered letter when I sent "their" title back to themYes I did change my mind a few times on how to settle this because it all come down to them wanting us to do it. I don't see how they were taken advantage of. I also never claimed that ***'s registration didn't match the Vin# - that is how I found out their cover up. They never liked any of my choices as they stated in the letter. So finally on 1/30/I get a hold of Travis who *** & *** threw under the bus to try to fix this all. He told me they where going to send someone down to get the trailer on Monday2/- this is when I called him to tell them I was licensing another trailer I had to buy to use that day I couldn't wait for them. So we talked about what hours would work for them & myself to get this done. Well I am still waiting for the call. I called Travis on 2/to see when they were coming - well his boss said they weren't sending anyone down. That was it!! I called my attorney & they started contact with them instead of meYes I have additional charges for all our time & work & rent & fees. They also have a bill from the company that now has the trailer at their impound. I will not be responsible for it - it says it belongs to Mr*** or LRT nothing says it's mine. I agree it should have & could have been handled by them much better. They are the dealer & we are the customer! Any good company & owner would have admitted what had happened & tried to fix it fast and get away from the problem as fast as possible. But no they tried to make it mine! I still have not seen anything of a title other then the one you are looking at. You don't run a business like that. I could go on & on, bottom line is they have $24,original dollars of mine for over months now & I have a big hung of stainless steel- that is useless. Yes I deserve extra for that & more. It only keeps compounding with their dragging of their feet. I have never changed my choices of how they fix it. Again I did nothing wrong but buy it from the wrong type of people. They are making it from bad to worse. They are the unreasonable ones I have been more than patience - now it time to take action. Enclosed is a copy of Mr***'s registration & their attempt of a title, Thank you for listening,***

Response to [redacted]:
La Crosse Transport Refrigeration acknowledges the
consignment sale of a Utility trailer VIN # [redacted] to Superior
Service Transportation. We had a
customer bring us the trailer to be sold on consignment. That same week
the [redacted]'s showed up to
look at it. They explained they were in
need of a trailer, and after viewing the trailer in question they decided to
purchase it. They decided to come pick
it up that Saturday because they explained they needed it the following day. We explained to them that we had not received
the title yet, but they were okay with paying for the trailer and later
receiving the title. The next week, the
funds for the trailer were received by the finance company, & the title was
released. This is when we received the
title & saw it was stamped salvaged.
It was our assumption that this was inaccurate due to the fact the
trailer was able to receive a license plate registered to that specific trailer
in the state of Wisconsin, and a finance company was willing to finance
it. The title was sent to the [redacted]'s
where [redacted] tried to register it. We
then got a phone call from [redacted] stating she was unable to register it
& demanded we fix the problem. We
were responsive to her demand, by offering her a FULL refund if the trailer was
returned or we would complete the required state inspection so the trailer
could be plated. She decided she was
going to think about what she wanted to do, & would get back to us
The next week, we received a phone call from [redacted] stating
that she wanted us to complete the required inspection, & to set it
up. Our office contacted the State Patrol
of Wisconsin, & set up an appointment.
Later in the week [redacted] contacted us with three options. One was to retrieve the trailer from her
location with a certified bank check for a full refund. Two, was to come and get the trailer,
inspected it, & return it after the inspection was passed. The third option was for Superior Service to
bring back the trailer, & charge us $to deliver it back to us on top of
the original refund amount. Payment
would only be accepted in the form of a certified bank check. We told her that we would set up the
inspection, & return it to her after it passed inspection & was able to
get plated. About a week later she then
rescinded her previous offers, & demanded we pick the trailer up with a
certified bank check. This was
concerning to us due to the fact that we would have to send a driver to pick up
the trailer & we would not be able to determine if the trailer was in the
same condition as it left before we gave her the refundIf the trailer was
returned to La Crosse Transport we would have the proper facility, tools, and
personnel to carry out the same inspection that was done before it was
received. Our driver would not be
qualified to properly inspect the trailer.
It would be very easy for a customer to remove valuable parts from a
trailer if they knew they would be receiving a guaranteed bank check without an
inspection. After we conveyed this
information to [redacted], we received a letter from her attorney demanding
we pick up the trailer with a bank certified check in the amount of $3,more
than the purchase price of the trailer.
She claimed this was interest on her money. We have made numerous attempts to solve this
problem, but with someone who is unwilling to work with you, the task is
impossible. She would not allow us to
pick up the trailer, nor would she deliver it.
It is against our policy that we send our driver's out with certified
bank checks, not knowing what we will get in return
We feel that we were also taken advantage of in this sale. The previous owner of this trailer never
stated that this was a salvaged trailer, & we were not in possession of the
title before the sale to the [redacted]'s took placeAlso, the plate on the
trailer did match the VIN for the trailer in question. After we discovered the problem, we made
every attempt to work with [redacted] to fix the issue. Every time we agreed on a plan she changed
her mind, & set new demands via email or harassing phone calls. Now we feel that she is using her attorney
and the possession of the trailer to receive additional funds when the matter
could have been simply resolved by returning the trailer to where the sale
originally took place.

As of yesterday, the case was resolved.

Review: I called on a semi - reefer trailer they had for sale. They didn't have that one but they were getting another like I wanted in. My husband drove up to see it & decided it was okay. We put $1000.00 down on it. We agreed to pick it up on Saturday 12/13/14 and we did. We paid the balance. They would send the title as soon they got it & the check cleared. So I called to see when it was coming so I could go title it. They would be sending it out. They did. I went to DMV 12/29/14 they told me I had the wrong title for that trailer. They had it registered in Wisconsin & they sent me a Iowa title. The title they had was a "salvaged" tiltle. That was the first time we heard that word used with that trailer. Nothing was told to us about that! If we had know that first we may not have bought it or at least at less of a price. The previous owner turned in a salvage title from PA & registered it as salvage in Wisconsin. They got the title from that gentleman the day he gave it to them. I talked to him. They acted like they had No idea. So they were going to get me the right title if I sent the other one to them. Then they had excuses why I couldn't get the title. Then they came up with it had to be inspected & that would be my problem to get it to someone to do that. I said NO it should have been done by them or they needed to do it to make it right. Then I said they could give me the money back & have the trailer back ( with NO title I can't use it). They said they would come & get it, I''m still waiting. They said now it's my problem to get it to them then they will give me a check. They don't see that any of this is their problem & I am not cooperating with them. So I told them on several occasions that I would take it higher if they didn't cooperate, they said I threatened them. So I have hired an attorney to have this resolved by this Friday 2/13/15. So far nothing from them. But I feel some under handed business went on here & they need to be looked at. All I want is my money back & the trailer gone back to them. I don't feel it should cost me any more time or money to settle this matter. I didn't try to do something wrong or lie to anyone. It will almost 2 months that I have had this trailer & can't use it. I have had to go by another one to replace this one as it is.Desired Settlement: I want my $24,000.00 back for sure . But if I can get my time on the phone, the lawyer, driving to DMV, work on the trailer, interest on my money & storage. I feel another $3000 would help to cover this.
