LA Moving Services Reviews (%countItem)

Scheduled with Supreme Movers to move our belongings and all contents of our house from Dakota Dunes, SD to Albuquerque, New Mexico on 7/31/19. Upon arrival to the house we were told that there would be a need for another 18 ft. truck to move all of our items at an additional $ ***. This amount was paid but we were missing over 25 boxes of our belongings including my nursing degrees and certifications that were expensively framed. I was informed by our neighbor who stayed with movers as we had to leave due to work commitment, that was considerable damage due to the house by the movers. I called the moving company repeatedly to discuss the damage and was told "turn it into your home owners insurance". The agreed delivery date was three weeks off and when the items were delivered they were delivered in only one truck by one young man. Family member had to assist bringing items into the house. This man told me our items had been shoved into a storage unit in South Sioux City Ia. Move cost us $*** with extensive damage to our belongings and house. I filled claim form in Oct. 2019 without any response with pictures of damage of house.

Desired Outcome

Refund I want the interior damage done our house paid for. Additionally, compensation for damage done to our belongings and 25 missing boxes. Delevery man said that this is common practice signing the paperwork only means that he delivered what he was told to deliver!

How on earth can a company that supposedly work on claims and complaints about other poor business practices be this bad? I've been engaging with this organization for nearly 3 months after encountering a slew of issues with a cross-country 1 bedroom move. There is only one person that answers the phone when you call and he's also typically the same person that will respond to emails, without much information at all.

The company says they'll process claims timely, mine has been with them since December 2019... now moving in March, I STILL don't have answers to basic questions. I'm talking things like disputed charges. Mind you disputed charges is a common complaint and noted within THEIR OWN claim document. Yet, I am still without answers and quite frankly appalled at their behavior, lack of response nor communication. You claim you're "A Claims Department You Can Trust" - tell me how or why should I, and everyone else trust you?! You'll be hearing from my attorney.

I filed two complaints against Cross Country Movers. Their "claims department" which is supposedly a third party was suppose to investigate my complaint. I was told by the "claims" department that their "investigators" were running two weeks behind. Almost THREE months went by and these people still have not communicated with me on the progress of this investigation. I called numerous times. My last few phonecalls, a "***" answered the phone. He was clueless. He fed me lies; stated there was a conclusion to the investigation and that I would receive an email with the details. I filed two complaints. The most recent complaint about two damaged pieces of furniture, and this "claims department" thought $6 per piece of furniture was fair.
My first complaint over $700 was never addressed... 3 months later. I researched this business' phone number and it is "ironically" listed as multiple moving company's main phone number. In addition, the supposed CEO/CFO/Supervisor used a magazine picture as her profile picture. This self-proclaimed supervisor has no business in customer service. I have been fed excuse after excuse with no resolution and no callbacks or follow-ups, as promised. For the hundredth time, *** promised today that he would call me tomorrow (11/21) with the final conclusion to this "supposed" 3-month investigation. Incompetent and clueless people.... and most importantly, unprofessional!

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I want my money back that was taken FRAUDULENTLY from me by Cross Country Movers.. and people who are competent and work ethically to come to a fair resolution. This complaint dates back to August. We are nearing December with no useful information or any updates/ communication this entire time to inform me of what is going on.Michael needs a new job because all he does is tell people "what a beautiful day it is" over the phone and then continue to fabricate stories and make false promises

LA Moving Services Response • Dec 07, 2019

We did not take ***. ***'s money FRAUDULENTLY as ***. *** stated. They contracted us to move her and we rendered the services we were contracted for.
We are hardworking and very ethical and we had accommodated ***. *** every step of the way.
***. *** filed a claim with the third party neutral and objective claims department and they have rendered a decision based on the contract that we signed with ***. ***. They determined that ***. ***'s claim is dismissed because we did not do anything wrong and we followed the contractual agreement lawfully.
Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.

Customer Response • Dec 09, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This Revdex.com complaint was for the Claims Dept that supposedly is a third company. ***, the "Claims Supervisor", and their staff did not investigate at all. As far as my "separate" complaint to Cross Country Movers, my contract was with YOU.... YOU hired this person who FRAUDULENTLY took my money. I guess your company hires crooks and YOU are ok with that. Let this be a warning to other consumers... beware of CROSS COUNTRY MOVERS and beware of them changing their business name. *** M. was my first contact with their company.
My claim was NOT dismissed, as you stated. This "Claims Dept" never even started an investigation. Last I spoke to them, they didn't even READ MY CLAIM. Otherwise, they would have known this "long carry fee" was listed as "FREE". They were clueless because they never read my claim. This Claims Dept works for the moving company, and certainly does not protect the consumer.
Why is the moving company answering for this "third party", the Claims Dept? Why does a moving company come up with this Claims Dept physical address?

LA Moving Services Response • Dec 11, 2019

We are unaware of any issues with the third party neutral and objective claims department. We can attest that they did investigate your claim and we have reached out to them to inquire and they stated that the claim was dismissed because we abided by the contractual agreement we had with ***. *** and they did not find that we did anything illegal.
We provided a top quality service to ***. ***, all her items arrived intact in the same like condition we picked it up in. We were contracted to move her from her location and deliver her to her destination, and we did what we were contracted to do.
We find ***. *** an unreasonable client that cannot be satisfied regardless of the fantastic job we did. Although we aim to satisfy all our client's, we realize that some clients you just can't satisfy.

We are unaware that anyone took your money, our movers are very professional and have been working with us a long time. If anyone took your money than you should call the police and report it. We will gladly comply with the investigation because we did not do anything wrong and we have nothing to hide. We have not changed our business name and we do not do that. We are leaders in the industry and we have many satisfied clients who can vouch for the great service we provide and that they received from us. We do about 300 moves a month and 99% of our clients are extremely satisfied with our work.

If ***. *** has a complaint against the third party neutral and objective claims department, she should complain to them directly.

We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and we wish ***. *** the best of luck in all her endeavors.

LAMoving picked up our belongings in Bakersfield CA and delivered them to Greensboro NC. At least 3 boxes are missing with some valuable sewing items and personal items with a total value of at least $***. In addition the movers damaged several items, some right in front of me and denied doing it. I sent in a claim form in March and was told I would hear from them in a ? couple of weeks'. Four weeks have passed and even after four calls to the claims dept. I have not heard back. I filled out a complicated claim form and sent a copy of the delivery pages along with photos but have heard nothing. The other thing was the bad attitude of the two moving drivers. The local crew they hired for the day were great but the two Russians who brought the truck were very bad and left a mess after leaving, telling me I was responsible for all the packing materials. I should have used a national company like Allied instead of a smaller local company that then had another company do the moving.

I have moved with major companies at least 4 times with no issues but I am very disappointed in LA Movers

Desired Outcome

Contact by the Business I would like the company claims dept. to contact me to resolve the minimum $*** loss and pay for the repair to my refrigerator. I can accept the damages they did to many furniture items since they said they do not cover damage to plywood or particle board.

I moved from *** to *** with a moving company called One Way Van Lines. They caused me innumerable headaches, overcharged me, and failed to uphold their end of the contract. They are a quasi-criminal enterprise.

They damaged and lost many of my items and I filed a claim, per federal regulations. The claim was handled through a third party company known as Customer Service Inc. Based on the weights of my damaged or missing items I was owed more than *** The company tried to offer me much less, but I was able to negotiate the amount up to *** before they stopped communicating with me. I returned my signed settlement agreement and they acknowledged that I would be paid within the legally-mandated window of 30 business days. That time has elapsed and they refuse to provide me with any update, let alone the actual check for *** that I am owed.

Desired Outcome

Refund I insist that I receive a check for *** which they acknowledged in writing would be paid to me. They stated that the amount was agreed to by ***, the supervisor of One Way Van Lines.
