LA Nails Reviews (%countItem)

I dont even know where to start. I'm disappointed, disgusted, and in shock at how a simple nail visit has cost me so much grief, money, and time.

I am in search of a GOOD nail salon. I had a brunch this past Saturday and after googling some places, went to one establishment..they did poorly...I paid and left ...went to my function and realized I'll just have to go somewhere else to get fixed. So Monday after work, I came here. They went on and on about how bad they looked n how much cheaper they are. They were too thick and not shaped well. So I got a pedicure and a nail polish change.

They looked better, I mean they couldnt look any worse, and I paid with a *** money card. This card is treated like a debit card but apparently this woman doesnt get this simple concept and took as a gift card...so she voided the transaction before letting me agree to that and demanded another form of payment, citing that she cant get tips on gift cards. I explain to her this is NOT a gift card. Now what If I didnt have another 70 to give her'??'?! She had tied up my money bc it's not instantly replaced. She apologized that she misunderstood and that should be back in my account within 3 days...how Sway? You're not the bank, how do you know this for sure'??'? I had a credit card but of course I didnt want to use that but had no choice. So I paid and left.

In the following days, like1.5, I really started inspecting my nails..they were lumpy, uneven, not smooth, and had started chipping already on 2 nails! This is gel polish, it should not be doing this....cheap and expired color most likely.....so they were closed, so I sent them a *** message explaining my concern and even sent pictures showing how its already chipping. She apologized and offered to repaint the 2 nails....ummmm ma'am that's not resolving issue....all my nails look like ***!
I told her like ALL salons, on nail polish changes, you smooth the nails after drilling off color and then paint. She proceeds to tell me that's not how "They" do nail polish changes.

What in the entire ***...I've never heard of such foolishness..have you? Seriously...so whenever you get a nail polish change...they drill off the color and just slap on the new color...no buff or file...that's insane. . . . Furthermore incorrect. I said well can u at least refund half of my money. She refused.

Now here it is, Sunday, 6 days later. Not only I was forced to use my cc with high interest rate I'll have to pay, but they still have yet to replace the 66$ they took on my *** debit card , it's in limbo... I'm so angry and disappointed with this place. So I've contacted my credit card to dispute and complain and if my monies from the *** card are not released by this week, I will be reporting this place to the Revdex.com...I may still report them bc they are wrong and did a *** poor job and have caused me so much grief esp on the interest I'm having to pay on my cc bc they forced me to use.

Also she attempted to chastise me about my payment and wanting cash or cashapp instead. Ummm ma'am, that's unprofessional as ***. If u only want cash or cashapp you need to have that in clear writing on the window before services are started. Be glad u even have paying clients. How rude and unprofessional. Now I see why...not only bc they don't want to pay processing fees but when bad service happens, theres no recourse. You're stuck!

I dont recommend this place at all.

I attached pics ...this is literally a day or so after my nails were painted by them, already chipping, ***

I ended up going to a reputable place. *** nails by *** off *** they did PHENOMENAL and she was disgusted as well by what la nails did and said no...nails are ALWAYS made smooth before any nail polish application...always.....finally found my new spot...also attached the pic where *** fnails had to fix it!

I will day the older woman and young girl were polite BUT they doesnt help wasted time and money ...and idk if the girl is even licensed....
Product_Or_Service: Gel nail polish change

Desired Outcome

Refund I simply copy and paste my review I just submitted online about them. I want to be compensated for the interested I have to pay to cc company bc I was literally forced to use this and I eant half of my $78 refunded. I'm asking a refund of at LEAST $60 total. The interest on cc is 19% and i can support all documentation

LA Nails Response • Mar 25, 2020

To whom it may concern;
This letter is in response to case#***: *** on behalf of LA Nails,900 Grammer Ln, STE 330, Smyrna,TN XXXXX-XXXX.

On February 24,2020, Ms. visited our salon and requested the services of a pedicure with callus remover and acrylic applied to each big toe, all these services were performed satisfactory. She then requested a gel polish changed on a set of nails that she had done at another salon and she was dissatisfied with what they had done. We proceeded to perform this service upon her. Upon completion of these services, Ms. seemed completely content. She proceeded to pay and this is where the misunderstanding took place. (please note before paying for the services, Ms. was happy after all services was performed including gel polish changed and pedicure along with other optional services she requested).

Ms. paid with a *** Money Card, LA Nails processed the card and Ms. kindly stated she would like to leave a tip and the staff misunderstood and thought she had paid with a gift card and explained that because it was a gift card (which was later quantified that it was not but a money card)
She could not leave a tip and then quickly voided the transaction and asked for a separate form of payment. (see attached voided receipt dated 02/24/20). The staff apologized and explained the misunderstanding and advised that typically our credit card processing company can take up to 72 hours to reissued voided funds (this is typical on credit card and debit cards, we are unfamiliar with money cards so it may take longer). Ms. then paid with a credit card and did remark that she preferred not to pay with this card because of the interest charge but did not have enough on her money card to cover a second charge while the pending amount was issued. As for chastising her for her form of payment that is incorrect, as a small business, we encourage guests who are able to use cash or cash app if possible to avoid us paying excessive credit card fees. Two days later Ms. contacted LA Nails through *** messenger stating that her nails were beginning to chip and that she was not pleased, we then offered for her to come back and we would happily reapply polish anytime she can come back in (please note that we were not the original applicators of the nails only the fresh polish) she declined. She then stated that her card had still not been credited back and also requested a portion of her second transaction be refunded. LA Nails stands by our work and have a very loyal clientele. We are sorry that Ms. was unhappy and there was no malicious intent on our behalf. Unfortunately that was all we could do and offer for Ms..

Respectfully,
Peter

I do not know who Peter *** is nor was there any gentleman in the shop witness to ANYTHING so his word means absolutely nothing. At all. I figured these ppl would skate around their mistakes, they never take accountability. I have and will continue to make public posts to educate ppl of how they do things and not to frequent their shop. IF I have to post a review everyday warning people, I will do!

To whom it may concern;
This next letter is in response to *** on behalf of LA Nails,900 Grammer Ln, STE 330, Smyrna,TN XXXXX-XXXX.

In response to Ms., LA Nails did take actions when Ms. first contacted us through *** and we did offer to fix her 2 chipped nails but declined our offer. To settle this situation with Ms. we would like to kindly offer Ms. a partial refund. we do not accept refunds but are willing to do this one time.

As Ms. has no complaints about her pedicure with the callus remover and acrylic on her 2 big toes.

The only thing she's concerned about is her nails and the interest fee from her credit card.

Ms. had a gel polish changed which is $20, and also tipped $12 for her nails and pedicure Which is $6 tipped for each service. Since Ms *** has never had a problem with her pedicure, we would refund half of the $12 tips which is $6. As of the credit card interest fee which Ms. did not have a choice not to use that credit card because her money card did not have enough to cover the second transaction. But we would also kindly cover that charge as well, Ms. said her interest fee is 19%.

In conclusion, gel polish changed is $20 and $6 for the tips that is a total of $26. with 19% of the fee it will be $4.94 but lets round that to $5.

We are willing to refund her credit card in the amount of $31 that is for her nails service and the tips, with the credit card interest fee of 19% that she is concerned about.

We believed we offered a fair resolution to this situation. Hopefully Ms. will deem this resolution satisfactory. Thank you.

Respectfully,
Peter

I don't agree with 31 refund but obviously this is all they are willing to do. Again no Mr *** was there so how he is some sort of expert is beyond me. Also I was content before NAILS CHIPPING THE VERY NEXT DAY AND SAW HOW LIMPY IT WAS. They need to do better. If you look at their public reviews, there are SEVERAL complaints about the entire thing. And not my fault either the woman that works there doesnt know the difference in a *** credit, debit, or gift card. THAT HER IGNORANCE, NOT MINE. SHE WORKS FOR THE BUSINESS TRAIN HER BETTER. JUST REFUND ME AND IM STILL TELLING PPL MY STORY BC I WAS DONE WRONG. PERIOD!
