Review: We booked a room within a pre-established block for a wedding (using the information provided directly on the wedding invitation, and a month in advance). Obviously a wedding is for a very specific date. When we showed up to check in we were told that our reservation was not on the books for September 26th, that it had been reserved for the 25th. The staff was able to find us an available room, for which we paid for, and at that time all seemed fine. That next week when I checked my credit card account I saw that in addition to the nights stay that we authorized, we had been charged $135. I called the hotel to inquire, and was flippantly told Honey, you were a no call, no show on the 25th. I DID NOT MAKE A RESERVATION FOR THE 25TH, so how could I know that they messed up and I needed to call and cancel. I reserved with a PRE-ESTABLISHED block of rooms for the night of a WEDDING, a very specific date know a year in advance. So, instead of apologizing for the inconvenience of the reservation mixed up they charged us $135. I have called numerous times trying to get in touch with higher management but no one ever returns my call. I have been treated with total disrespect and the employees I have spoken with refuse to refund the fee. No one wants to admit that it was the hotel's error. I don't care what they admit to, or for an apology, I just want the money that they were never entitled to in the first place.Desired Settlement: I would like my "no call, no show" fee refunded immediately.

Review: On Saturday, July 26th 2014 I had a reservation at the La Quinta Inn and Suites Pittsburgh North. When I went to check in I was greeted by a La Quinta employee who was an absolute mess. Her clothes were filthy and too small and she was not wearing a bra. This was very evident to both myself and my 4 year old daughter. She gave me my key and sent me to room 214. We walked in and were hit in the face by a horrible smell. It was a mixture of cigarette smoke and pet urine (this was said to be a non smoking room). The smell was stomach turning to say the very least but that quickly turned into the last thing that I was worried about. I sat my bags down and looked around the room when I noticed a bulge in the bed. I removed the covers to find a filthy woman's sock stuffed between the comforter and fitted sheet. As if that wasn't enough, there were also several hairs all over the sheet. Mortified, I called the front desk and a younger male employee answered the phone. To my surprise he was very un-surprised and un-phased by what I just told him. He asked me to come down and that he would give me a different room. I showed both the young man and bra less woman the photos that I had taken and again, they acted like this was nothing new. Next we were sent to room 421 "The replacement room". Room 421 was supposed to be way better. It was not. While room 421 was absent of terrible smells, dirty socks and an abundance of hair on the sheets, it was far from acceptable. There was bodily fluids crusted on the comforter, black stains on the pillowcases along with on the carpet, furniture and walls, approx 1/2 cm of dust on the lamp, white stains on the desk, more mysterious crust (appearing to have come from someone's nose) crusted allover the AC unit and urine left under the toilet. We slept on towels that night because there were no other places to stay that night. I immediately notified both La Quinta they will not return my calls or messages. They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and are not honoring it.Desired Settlement: I am so disgusted by what I had to endure... especially because I had my little girl with me. I want my money back. They say 100% satisfaction guaranteed and I have so many pictures to show all the reasons I am not satisfied. I know that 99% of hotels are not the most sanitary places but this was way beyond acceptable.

Review: One year ago my wife and I booked our wedding reception with Holiday Inn Pittsburgh North. Over the year we dealt with three banquet coordinators. The first one made us some promises and gave us upgrades to ensure our booking. Throughout the year we had to fight to keep some of our contracted items. Six weeks before the wedding, we met with our third coordinator. We were then told about fees that we originally told we wouldn't be charged. In order stay close to our budget, we were pressured to drop the upgrades we received from the first coordinator. On the day of the wedding, our guests were subjected to extremely unprofessional behavior from Holiday Inn staff members. Glass was broken several times, champagne was spilled on the back of a guest, and dirty flatware was dumped in the father of the bride's lap. Half the cookies we brought were never displayed, containers were actually hidden from the people that brought them. Also, the food we selected for the buffet was not the food that was actually served. When we informed the manager of our complaints, we were told that these incidents could not be proven. In short, we were made out to be liars. In actuality, we are the victims of a classic bait and switch ploy. We were also subjected to unfair trade practices. Quite simply, we did not receive the services we paid for.Desired Settlement: Full or partial refund.

I used [redacted] to book this hotel. It was fairly cheap for a 3-star. They were clearly being generous. Their wifi is next to impossible to connect to. Even when you do get connected, you barely have a signal unless you're in the middle of the hotel. I requested an ethernet cord, but none were available. I also happened to be traveling with my 1-year old son, who needed a play pen to sleep in. For some odd reason, this hotel had none to let us use. I've been to some pretty bad 1-star hotels who had play pens. Basically, if you need a room to sleep in and NOTHING else, it's ok. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

EDIT: So I re-requested a play pen later that night, seeing how it was pretty odd a hotel wouldn't have one. Turns out, they had some in the basement. The attendant told me she shouldn't be able to leave the desk, nor is there anyone to go get it for me. She said I ought to have asked for one earlier... Do not go to this hotel. If you have to pay an extra $100 for a 1-star hotel, it'd be better than this.
