1)      La Sausa Electric did definitely misrepresent the fact that the unit had a 5 year warranty on all parts and labor.  This is a fact.2)      We were never offered an extended warranty because as we only found out recently in dealing with the issue, that  La Sausa Electric was, in fact, not authorized to offer us an extended warranty.  This is a fact.3)      We ultimately had to have the unit repaired and had this done by:

responding to your letter dated July 8, 2016, regarding complaint ID[redacted]. On October 14, 2013 we installed a Generac 20KW generator for the complainant. Upon completion of installation on October 15, 2013, the generator was registered for start-up with Generac. Generac comes with a 5-year limited parts warranty, and a 2-year labor warranty - which was related to the customer, and comes with the Generac paperwork. All paperwork was given to the customer. We are LaSusa Electric – NOT Generac. Generac holds the warranty. In July of 2014, we received a call form customer asking us to come and service the unit with an oil change. On July 9, 2014, we completed the customer’s request, and generator was in excellent working order. In December of 2015, we received a call from the customer asking us for another oil change. On December 24, 2015, we went to the customer’s home and upon inspection of generator, noticed an oil leak. We informed customer of this problem. Because we don’t do repair work on generators, we recommended [redacted] Stamm of Allstate Generators, LLC in Harrison NJ to inspect the issue. We also contacted Allstate Generators , LLC on December 26, 2015 to let them know of this customer calling for possible repair work. In June of 2016, we were contacted by Allstate Generators, LLC. They informed us that the customer’s warranty was up in October 2015, and that the customer was upset because they had to pay for labor – but not parts. We were then contacted by this customer, who demanded that we should be responsible for labor and parts. Customer stated that they called Generac and were told that if labor warranty was within the same 2 years of problem – that Generac would pay. Upon hearing this, in good faith, we contacted Generac and repeated what customer said was told to them. Generac proceeded to tell us that this was false information, and that the customer’s warranty expired in October 2015 – 2 years exactly from time of installation. So, therefore, Generac will not warranty labor even if “in same year that labor warranty is in”. - (As customer had falsely stated). On June 11, 2016, we received a letter from the Revdex.com informing us of this complaint ID# 11542800. We also received a harassing phone call same day at 1:59 pm from the customer. Male customer was screaming into phone that we “should pay, and that we were responsible for his costs and should make good on them” – then hung up. In closing, we have been in this family-run business since 1991. We have never had a complaint against us. While we feel the frustration of this customer, we are not at fault for finding this problem 2 months after warranty expired. The customer CALLED US to come on December 24, 2015. Again – 2 months after warranty expired. Sincerely, LaSusa Electric
