La Tires Auto Body Shop Reviews (%countItem)

I bought two semi New tires from this place on Friday, February 7, 2020. I drove my car locally in West LA and Culver City for a couple of hours total during the weekend and on Monday, February 10, one of the tires dangerously exploded near Pico and Sepulveda Blvd. almost provoking a big car accident that would've been involved several people's lives. Gratefully I was able to manage the car out of the road. I called Tripple A and the technician confirmed that the tire exploded in two different parts. He told me that I probably got scammed and to go back for a refund. I went back and the employees, maybe the owner? were really rude to me even though I was still visibly in shock for the tired explosion. They took the tire and brought it to the back and then they told me that the tire had a nail on it and that was the reason for the explosion. They showed me a nail in the tire that wasn't there before when I checked it with the Tripple A person. I can't say that they deliberately put a nail in there when I wasn't watching since I don't have proof of that. But the nail wasn't in there before when I checked the exploded tire to find out the reason for the explosion. Of course, they refunded neither the tire or the $50 dollars to me. These people are shady and rude.
Product_Or_Service: tire

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I want my money back.

She had called over the phone on Monday, February 10, in the morning saying she had bought a couple tires here a week prior and that she had gone on vacation and upon returning she noticed that one of the tires we had sold her was low almost flat looking. We told her to bring it so we could check it out. What she should've done is put on her spare tire and drove it over so the tire would'nt get messed up but she drove it like that knowing the tire was low so clearly the tire blew out because she drove the tire with no air.The day she brought the tire she came in angry we told her to please calm down that we would check the tire and see what the problem is and my brother and I checked it and it had a big nail on the side of the tire she said the tow truck driver and her checked the tire and it had no nail. After she said the tow truck driver said the tire had no manufacture date which upon inspecting it was clearly manufactured in 2018. She asked the tow truck driver, someone who has no experience in tires whatsoever to clarify. When you drive a tire with a nail and you drive it flat the tire gets damaged from the inside out which then causes the tire to blow out. we told her that because she got a nail in the tire if the tire had blown out for no reason whatsoever we would have given her another one. Her car comes equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitor System which lets you know when a tire is low in air, which means the car let her know that the tire was going flat but she continued driving it which then caused the tire to blow out. I then told her that used tires have Absolutely No Warranty which is clearly written on the invoice that she signed and paid for. I told her I couldn't give her another tire for free and then she wet off and started screaming and she didn't let me finish explaining to her that I was gonna help her out and give her another tire all she had to do was pay the labor fee which would be $25 dollars. She would not here it though and she started screaming again, and I said mam if you won't listen then I can't help you out. She started calling us crooks and calling us names. We just put her tire back in the trunk since she walked off and continued talking. Whenever people buy used tires from us and they get flats a week or even 2 weeks after they buy the tire, we try and help them out even though we don't warranty used tires we always try and help them out to the best of our abilities but when they come very aggressive to the point where you can't even talk to them calmly and all they do is scream it makes it really difficult to work with them. As I previously mentioned we weren't denying trying to help her but she was not willing to work with us. We check all our used tires for nails, cracks, and holes before we mount them on every car the nail she had was huge we would've seen it when we put it on the car and the tire would have gotten flat the next day not a week later. Used tires come with absolutely no warranty, even if she had bought a new one the new tire warranty only covers tire defect as far as tire cracking, peeling, and tire bulges, it does not cover nails or sidewalk damages. She signed the invoice that states there is no warranty on tires but even then we tried to help her out, which was not up to her satisfaction.

Customer Response • Feb 20, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I never went on vacation. I bought the tires on a Friday and drove the car for a couple of hours total between Saturday and Monday. (locally in Culver City). I didn't drive on Sunday. I have proof of the purchase and proof of the AAA coming to change the exploded tired near Overland and Pico. I couldn't possible continue driving it since the tire (once again) exploded. I drove it a few feet just on time to get the car out of the road and avoid a bad accident. The technicians at AAA are very wise and prepared so this person shouldn't judge them as lacking experience. I have also proof from the other business in which I purchased my next tire. And of course I went to the see these people with my spare tire. The one that I bought from them literally exploded. All the proof can be submitted upon request. It is also a lie that these people tried to help in any way, I left upset in the moment that one of them literally tossed the exploded tired inside my car (not in the truck but in the back seat) and turned around giving me his back. I didn't call them names, but I did say that what they were doing was unfair and that if my 20 year old son would've been on the wheel instead of myself on the freeway, he would've killed himself and that was why I was upset the most, besides that I just came from evading a 3 people car accident at rush hour. I told them to check their consciousness , that is all what I said. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes since I was in a rush to get a new tire before businesses would close. It was around 7PM. I don't understand why they keep lying. Again, I will put all the proof together and send it, if necessary. Thank you Revdex.com for your help with this matter. It's a matter of safety.
