Review: This is a complaint about the management. After booking their downstairs room for a wedding reception and giving a large deposit ($500), the management wasn't at all helpful in facilitating the event. When our party grew too large (they can accommodate 100, our party grew to 115 people)and we contacted the restaurant to make them aware, they were less than accommodating. We asked them to move the date to host a holiday party and apply part of the deposit to that bill, so as to still guarantee them business, but their reply was that they lost $15,000 refusing other parties and that they couldn't do anything for us. Now, La Viola is pretty busy every night. I hardly doubt that their room wouldn't get filled up on a Saturday. I think that number was quite an exaggeration. I did not sign a contract with them and we were not told that the deposit is non refundable. It also does not state that the deposit is not refundable anywhere on their website. Our understanding was that the deposit was to hold the date and nothing more. The management handled it in a rude way by telling me they would ask the owner and call me back. They called me back saying that they lost a lot of business because of me and there is nothing that they could do for me.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of at least 75% of the initial $500 deposit.

The owners of the restaurant contacted me directly and resolved the dispute to a satisfactory conclusion.
The management and owners were very pleasant and I would like to withdraw my complaint at this time. I thank you for your follow through and for being an effective organization.
