L.A. Workout Reviews (2)
Review: Two gym memberships with LA Workout for my wife and I were established on a month to month basis contract. Enrollment fee, processing fee, and the first and last month dues at $19.50 were collected to start the membership on 12 June 2009. The original LA Workout agreement to terminate month to month membership required 30 day written notice.LA Workout/Khaos abruptly closed their facility at [redacted] Camino Ruiz in Camarillo on 1 June 2015 without any prior notifications and transferred billing to a new gym Fitness 19 in Camarillo. LA Workout was last used on 27 May 2015 before a trip to the east coast and there was no indication of a closure then. Upon return one week later received an undated letter from Fitness 19 not LA Workout that our memberships had been transferred to Fitness 19. Transfer by LA Workout/Khaos was unilateral without any customer contact or options to utilize any of the three other gyms located in Camarillo. We do not choose to continue with the Fitness 19 location in Camarillo and never utilized their facilities. The Fitness 19 staff could not handle the cancellation and we had to cancel thru the third party billing agency after a delay trying to determine where to send a written request after LA Workout had closed. The billing agency accepted the two cancellations. The billing agency has collected for both memberships for June and has also now requested payment for July according to a Fitness 19 agreement which was never signed with Fitness 19 and Fitness 19 can not provide on request. Staff at Fitness 19 has been no help to resolve this issue and have deferred all contact to the billing agency. The Fitness 19 manager was requested to call about the problem and after four business days had not called back. A follow up call was made but the manager could not be located. The billing agency indicates they are only following policy and the Fitness 19 staff was not willing to take any action to assist in this problem.Desired Settlement: LA Workout to coordinate with Fitness 19 and their mutual billing agency to eliminate the billing for both July payments and any resulting future late charges that would occur. They have already collected for the month of June and we had already paid for a last month when the 2009 contract was funded in June 2009.Collecting again for July disregards the funds held by LA Workout for the last month.
Review: This company is trying to collect on services not received and also over charging I was a member of the KHAOS gym in Camarillo CA. While at this GYM I was repeatedly told they would fix the card reader so I could get in to the gym it was 3 months of marginal use and the last two months I could not get in to the gym. Then I received a letter stating the gym was closing down on Sunday May 31st 2015 and it did so please send me back 2 months at 39.00 a month for a total of $78.00 These people tried to make me go to a gym I never signed up for .P.S. The rate at fitness 19 is only $19 per month, however you are trying to charge me $39 per month. I am disputing this debt and if you tarnish my credit rating over this I will seek every remedy available through the Consumer Fraud division of the State. I demand that you cease and desist with this fraudulent billing scheme.
