To whom it may concern, we were called to Mr [redacted] home to diagnose a problem with his garage door opener. Once the problem was discovered he was given  an option to repair and or replace the garage door opener. The customer went with the repair. In making the repair we had to A diagnose...

the problem B install and adjust the opener C reprogram all sending units to the home. The product cost me more than he is stating because I have to by from an authorized dealer. The customer needs to realize that our knowledge is not free and our time is not free and that we make money off the products we sell. The customer was charged a service call plus an hours worth of labor(our minimum) plus our pasts which we mark up. All of this was explained in detail and the customer agreed and paid for the service. So there will be no refund issued.

I am rejecting this response because:  1.  He said the problem was with the gear. Any other work done was neither requested nor necessary.  The fact that he lubicated the chain had nothing to do with the issue.  He was not asked to do so, nor did he ask me if I wanted that extra for fee service.. In actuality, the problem from the get go was that the motor needed to be replaced, based on [redacted]'s comments about the circuit board.  [redacted] knew that money was an issue for me because I told him it was when he first came out.  I live in a very small, modest house.  I watch my pennies.  I am a [redacted].  The only repair that he should ever have made, but didn't, was to replace the motor.2.  My "[redacted]" (a 72 year old [redacted]) is a [redacted] who does no home repairs himself.  I told [redacted], after he refused to give me any recompense -- a credit or anything other than the same wrong repair he did the first time, which he admitted would not solve the problem, that I was going to seek legal guidance from [redacted].  He is not a repairman and I never intimated that he was in any way. In fact, I told [redacted] that If he would not use the amount he charged for the incorrect repair towards a replacement motor, which he flat out refused, I would be forced to take legal action, which, if this cannot be resolved, I will do.   As stated before, my neighbors have been privy to this entire situation and have offered to testify on my behalf, if it needs to go to court.  3.  The [redacted] has misstated many things and has portrayed me as a difficult person.  That was the opposite.  [redacted] came out without the part he said he needed for the first appointment.  I was very nice to him, providing him with the ladder he used, accepting his lack of preparedness, offering and giving him bottled water.  The fact that the [redacted]'s statement has several falsehoods leads me to wonder whether [redacted] told him what I said or he misinterpreted it.  In my world, when a customer is not happy and politely calls once and leaves a message requesting their call be returned by the [redacted] or [redacted], it behooves that person to return the call and try to find a solution, or, at the very least, to hear them out.  I have not misstated one single thing in the original complaint.  I ask you....based on the fact that [redacted] said that the reason why the original repair did not fix the problem, why would I accept his offer to do the same again?I do not lie.   I was hopeful that this could be resolved amicably, but it takes two people, working towards that goal for that to happen.

To whom it may concern, the only real truth to this matter is that we replaced 2 springs for 225 on the specified date in question. We were called out to replace springs at the homeowners house for 225, we we arrived the homeowner acted quite strange when we arrived , one being trying to get me to...

do the job for cheaper than was quoted over the phone and two opening his attic access climbing up and down to and from the attic not carrying anything to or from it rather trying to peek or spy on us doing the work. Once we were done we checked "The Balance" of the door and the homeowner also wanted to see that the door was "Balanced" so he did. We also made some suggestions to him on other repairs in which he declined. We were then paid and left. If this door was not so called "Balanced" we would not have been paid and would have had to correct then. The homeowner then calls the city on me to try to get me in trouble I guess but was unsuccessful at doing so for you do not need a "Permit" to preform service work. You need a "Permit" to change the structure of the house. He then tried to extort money from me to the tune of 2500$ which I ignored stating his cat was killed because the door did not reverse. Well that statement says it all the springs don't make the  reverse they assist the door to move up and down the opener is what did not reverse. If this at all what happened to the cat. If it did my sincere condolences go out to the family, but just because I preformed work on the house does not warrant my responsibility on this matter. Then dragging a child into and adult matter you should be ashamed of yourself. Therefore there will not be a refund of any sort to the homeowner. You paid for 2 springs installed and you got two springs installed anything outside of that is not my responsibility. Thank you and have a great day!

I am rejecting this because of two reasons, however, the primary one is that I do not want a CREDIT.   I want what is needed and that is and was a new garage door motor and any other parts required to permanently, for the normal lifetime of a motor,  fix the garage door.  A new [redacted]  motor, including necessary parts, retails for less than $200.  You published a coupon with a trip  charge of $99 included.  Based on what you charged me, you could have easily replaced the motor, made a profit, but here we are, instead.I want that.  If you are willing to do that and guarantee parts and labor, with what is usual, reasonable and customary for a [redacted] garage door opener, I will accept that.  I cannot accept anything less.  If you are unwilling to do so, I have no other choice but to file suit in [redacted]  court.   I am willing to work with you, but I cannot accept your final offer.

Here is my last resolution. I will credit the whole gear ans sprocket amount towards a new opener. and the sprocket amount only! 399-189.99=209.01. This is my final offer. This would have been the exact amount paid from day 1 had we installed a new opener from the get go. We can not predict what an opener does or if it malfunction in another way 4-5 months later after use.
