I received the same notice as reviewers above. Outside of envelope was stamped in red PLEASE OPEN IMMEDIATELY. Very official looking but I've learned to be skeptical. Legitimate businesses & agencies don't mind when we check on them. They have nothing to hide. This company is trying to take hard-earned money from people owning small businesses & they are doing it underhandedly & deceptively. I believe a lot of people get scared by this company's tactics & send them money; money that could possibly go back into the business for growth, or even money that could possibly be feeding someone's family. How does a human being go from birth to being an innocent child to being a greedy, self-serving, blood-sucking menace to society? People like this, whose livelihood depends on stealing from other people; who create victims & destroy what others have built, are criminals; second only to murderers & rapists. I wish I knew how to stop them. Maybe with tools such as this website, I can at least put a dent in their profits.
Review: UNSOLICITED MAIL MISLEADING.
THE MAILING USES PINK COLOR AND TERM "NOW DUE $285" TO ELICIT PURCHASE OF EMPLOYER LABOR COMPLIANCE POSTERS.
THREATENS "FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH POSTING REGULATIONS CAN LEAD TO FINES UP TO $17,000."
IT SEEMS THAT THE BUSINESS "LABOR COMPLIANCE CENTER" IS FALSELY POSING AS AN OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY THAT REQUIRES FEES TO BE PAID.Desired Settlement: WHILE EMPLOYER COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL AND STATE REGULATIONS TO POST CERTAIN INFORMATION MAY BE TRUE,
IT IS NOT TRUE THAT A EMPLOYER MUST PURCHASE THESE POSTERS FROM THIS BUSINESS -LABOR COMPLIANCE CENTER.
NOWHERE ONTHE MAILING DOES IT STATE THAT THE PURCHASE IS VOLUNTARY.
WORDING SHOULD BE CLEARLY VISIBLE THAT STATES "LABOR COMPLIANCE CENTER IS A BUSINESS OFFERING THESE POSTERS FOR SALE. LABOR COMPLIANCE CENTER IS NOT A GOVERNMENT AGENCY"
If you notice it reads a date to "Please respond by" such and such a date which right there gets them off the hook because if it was a legitimate Federal agency it would say "Due date". Also, a $7,000 fine could be enforced but then again nowhere does the mailer read they are the U.S. Government. In my case I have no employees because I am owner operator.
Review: I have been in business for 4 years and today I received a mail from Labor Compliance Center that looks like a bill for $285. I have never used their service, and the front side of this letter contained language that would make business owners like me fear that we have forgotten to pay due for some government related agencies. It clearly says "Fee $285 NOW DUE", with all my corporation number and corporation date correct.
I talked to my accountant and spent a long time doing internet research to piece together that this is a total scam. I don't owe them anything.
ON the fine print on the back of the letter (I really had to dig deep to find this) "This is not a bill. This is a solicitation. You are under no obligation to pay the amount stated above unless you accept this offer."
Now this company is clearly trying to pressure business owners to pay them out of fear. This is outrageously shameful and I would want the rest of the world to know.
I would love to provide the copy of the letter with personal information blocked out.
I need an official apology from this company and their acknowledgement that not one more of this type of letter will be sent to another unsuspecting addressee.
